  • ye he was responsible for the london riots

  • This reminds me of Secretariat's run at the Belmont Stakes.

  • To put in in perspective for the youngsters on here,What Coe and Ovett did 78-85 was stunning, smashing and electrifying...,along the lines of what Usain Bolt is doing to the sprint records today, only difference is, Bolt has no one to challenge him, he makes the worlds next fastest humans look almost pedestrian on the track.

  • Koncellah was no mug and Coe makes him look like a club runner...

  • And David Coleman couldn't give a shit if it was a world record or not!

  • A legend - why? - because it took so long to beat that record!

  • Coe--and this can be said equally of Ovett--trained like his life depended on it. Coe worked out with the same ethic as Rocky Marciano. Look at Coe's workouts one time, examine them, and you'll know exactly why he was able to do this. Coe was a guy who ate situps for breakfasts and 20x200 with 50 meter jog intervals for lunch.

  • @Bravo6Whiskey Yes indeed!

Coe and Ovett were the Hagler/Hearns of track for about 6-7 years taking turns swiping the numerous world records from each other from the 800-1000-mile-metric mile during that time, they were complete ANIMALS on the track. Coe's 800 record was so stunning because he obliterated the 800 record by 1.8 seconds from the legendary Juantorena, in the 30 years since the 800 record has only dropped .7, Coe held that world record for 17 years.

    Coe is the All-Time best!

  • lol he got super speed

  • This is a ridiculously good performance - he just utterly gunned it - just went out on his own and ripped up the track - that time is still virtually unbeaten as well - only two guys have beaten it in 20 years. Bearing in mind how much other track world records have improved by during that time it's phenomenal

  • @theonenathe He gunned it as you say! but there is lots of talk evidence Coe was an advocate of blood doping! It wasn"t illegal then, it can improve performance by up to 30%. I think its even talked about in Seb Coe books from the early 80"s. Don"t forget thats how Lasse Viren dominated, he DID blood dope. Its what, Lance Armstrong is accused of EPO.

  • @dan32113 You are completely misinformed. Coe was the 1st athlete to address the IOC congress at Baden Baden in 1981, calling for LIFE bans for any athlete who tested positive for banned substances. Synthetic EPO wasn't even invented for medical purposes until 1985 & not used by sportsmen until the early 90's, after Coe had retired. Moreover, it was Coe (with Lord Moynihan) who produced the paper calling for blood doping to be outlawed in 85, which it was the next year on his recommendations.

  • @dan32113 LOL! Where is it spoken of in his book? I have all his books, so kindly enlighten us with a page reference! Otherwise stop being a troll.

There is also absolutely NO evidence that Viren blood doped. It is all rumour based on the fact that another ( Kaarlo Maaninka I believe) finnish distance runner admitted to it. Viren has always denied it.

  • @deano27671 You might have all his books, but you need 1st edition training distance runners! Peter Coe talks about blood doping, it was omitted from later editions! Lasse Viren, denied it, of course he would! There was no test for EPO, but it can improve your performance 30%. Its wasn"t illegal then! Duh...

  • @dan32113 Please give page reference & quote. He might talk about it, but he never advocated it. It was legal, though Coe would have considered it immoral & cheating. It was made illegal in 86 after Coe's recommendations to the IAAF. Why would he ban something and call on life bans if he was using & could get caught. Not sure if you're British, but I can assure you if Coe had blood doped then the press here would have got hold of it by now.

  • There was no test for EPO in the 80's because it DID NOT exist. The first cases in sport were early 90's. No test for EPO emerged until 2000 Olympics, which wasn't very effective as it didn't pick up Marion Jones' use (to which she later admitted). It wasn't improved upon until 2004/5. Why do you think all those ridiculous times in the late 90's from 1500 up came about? Notice that since 2005 no one has broken 3:29 for 1500m.

  • @deano27671 Anyway, Hicham El Geroujj the great is holding the current 1500 WR at 3:26.

  • @deano27671 He is talking bollocks. Viren admitted to blood doping in late 1970s when it was 'legal'. What has that got to do with Coe? And has that fuking tool got the editions when Coe's father talks about blood doping with Coe involved. That would be worth a fortune. What a fucking tool!!!

  • @rc2869 Utter rubbish! Viren has NEVER admitted to blood doping! One of his team mates in the 70's later admitted to it but NOT Viren. Produce a link or source of your rumour? As for Coe's father, he never wrote or spoke anywhere or anytime about Coe blood doping. He may have referred to the practice in one of his books, but he never used it with Coe. Coe's blood was regularly tested post 83 coz the toxoplasmosis he suffered from never leaves the system & they had to check it didn't re-occur.

  • @rc2869 I think I misunderstood your last comment. I thought you were calling me a tool!? Perhaps you are? Lol.

I think your comment was a bit ambiguous, and if I did get the wrong meaning, I'd like to apologise. Sorry! I still maintain that Viren has never come out and said he blood doped, although he did make some ambiguous comment where he basically said he did nothing outside the rules! And Coe's dad has never said Coe blood doped!?

  • EPO can now be detected, but you'd have to be careless to get caught. It certainly doesn't improve performance by 30%. That would mean a 1:50 800m guy clean could run 1:17 after using EPO. Go away and research before casting aspersions.

  • This time, 1 41.73 was astonishing! Stood for 16 years! What a moment for athletics

  • This is so inspiring. He just took off that second lap. I hate watching a race where the runners are hesitant to pass. Seb Coe didn't want second, he was running to win. He was gonna pass him, and it didn't matter if he was on the turn. Once he passed him he poured it on. He passed him and hammered down. This inspires me to work harder and be a better human being. It's true that Olympians are the best of humanity.

  • Man, if Seb had stuck with the 800, ran this race on a better track later in the season, I believe he would have gone sub 1:41, maybe even faster. Him+Rudisha= best mid distance runners of all time, withthe possible exception of Hicham el G.

  • @track2996 I agree he would have gone sub 1:41. I think Rudisha has to win a few titles yet to be considered even one of the greatest 800m runners ever, along with Snell, Coe & Kipketer IMHO. If we're talking greatest 1500m to 3000m, then probably EL G or Morceli. As far as the classic "middle distance" events of 800 up to 1 Mile , then I'd say Coe & Snell are head and shoulders above all others.

  • @deano27671 Yeah Rudisha is a great athlete but its true that he broke the record with superior equipment and much later in time, but I think one day He will be considered equal to the greats.

  • 0:56 - What a MACHINE this guy is! I remember seeing him as a kid, wanting to BE him; fantasizing on the track that I was Sebastian Coe as I'd overtake someone on the outside...so relaxed and cool -- what a Terminator!

  • My word, first time I've seen a recording of this. Truly awesome.

Imagine what sort of time Coe would have clocked if Billy Konchella could've lasted another half lap, and if Seb hadn't had to brake going over the line to avoid the stupid paparazzi. As it is this WR stood for 16 years and only two men in history - both Kenyans - have run faster.

  • Coe is the greatest 800 man of all time!!!!

  • The announcer isn't even that excited! What a jerk haha. Nothing ruins an amazing record video more, than an uninterested announcer.

  • @ilikesex67 Coe's running was pure art.

  • Amazing tactical race what a front runner totally dominant against those other competetors and what a finish, timed it perfectly great flowing style and insane speed!

  • My fav track athlete ever, Seb Coe.

  • Henrietta is a mean go-getter, youtube staff? I mean, whaddya make of THAT!

  • @SimonMagus222 sound of slade of that line! :L

  • i was gonna run the 800m.....then i watched this video lol

  • sebastian coe... you my friend are a beast :)

  • today i just one the relay petone rec srry hannah ya sprand ya ankel and cant reun in the team btw its 30th of november i got in to inter zone and our team one YAY!!!

  • Comment removed

  • He had to run OUTSIDE of the kenyan runner at the beginning of the second lap on the roundabout too and STILL broke the record.

  • @ilikesex67 All that, and a VO2 MAX of 82!!

  • @zuss10r And a resting heart rate of 28!

  • Shame there's no sign of Seb Coe's 1st 800 m record 1979 in Oslo! Or?

  • @veikosoom -There used to be!? I've got my own copy of the race but don't know how to load it on here!?

  • This may be the single greatest effort in the history of man.

    Strictly speaking, scientifically of course.

  • Fabulous! Does someone know how big was the gap in secs between Coe & the guy who finished second! Just curiosity!

  • @veikosoom - Dragan Zivotic finished 2nd in 1:47.41; 5.68 secs behind, or about 45m!

  • All done in a real race without a paid hare to lead them out for the first lap. Let's return to real races!

  • Coe Lowered the 800m WR by 2 seconds to an astonishing 1min 41s.

I've seen David Rudisha run and this guy is very consistent and has amazing talent.

    I believe he will run 1min 39s!!!!!

  • @bijection765 But can Rudisha do it without a pacemaker?

  • @scotjack pacemaker's have been there from even before Coe's time. Billy Konchellah was the pacemaker when Seb broke the record.

  • @cocotius There were very few events where pacemakers were used in the late 70's early 80's. One or 2 big names might request one for maybe 2 or 3 races per year. Since the Golden League of the 90's, rabbits are pretty much par for the course in all meets, whether the field wants to go for a record or not. I'm pretty sure this wasn't even a planned WR run, as it was v. early in season and Coe's father/coach didn't attend, as he did for all his son's record attempts.

  • Konchellah certainly wasn't a "rabbit" as we see them now. If he had been he would have stepped off the track at the bell, rather than forcing Coe to run wide on the bend to get past him! Konchellah also finished the race, something which today's rabbits don't do.

  • @thecrudmeister

I am English, and the time put me 5th in the county, but I am 2 weeks of being in the age group below. This years training was soft, and if I tell my coach that I want to break 2 mins, he will do his best to make me.

  • Wonderful! Glad I was around to see it!

  • I ran in the Hampshire county schools in 1985 in the 400 metres,56 seconds,Mountbatten centre,Portsmouth, didn't qualify for English schools, about 3 seconds of the pace,it was great though, good memories.

  • Do you think I could break two minutes next season, as that is the kind of time that I will need to win the Hampshire county schools?

  • @Bertleach999 It's possible but would be very tough to do! A more likely goal would be between 2:00 and 2:03 if you train very hard. I don't know about other 800 runners but it was very hard for me to break 2:00. I have been training for 4 years and between 8th and 9th grade I trained very hard and didn't skip any training sessions, and I barely broke 2:00 my freshman track season. I did run a 1:57.72 at states but that was the race of the season for me. I usually ran around 1:59-2:02.

  • Sorry to intrude, but I have been running seriously now for a year, and I do 800m in 2:08. For a fifteen year old, is this good?

  • @Bertleach999 yes, it's good

  • @Bertleach999 That is a very good time, but not great. I don't know what state your running from, but here in Ontario that time would put you in the top 40 for 15 year olds, and you would qualify for regionals, which the 2nd biggest meet in the province. (After provincials) If i were you, i would make it my goal to crack 2:00 this year. Good Luck

  • the rabbits son in this race just ran 1:41.5!!! pretty cool fact

  • @jonesy77777 The rabbit here was Billy Konchellah, who went on to win the World title in 87. His son is Youssef Saad Kamel (formerly Gregory Konchellah), who won the gold medal at last year's World Champs at 1500m. He isn't the same guy who ran 1:41.51 the other week. That was David Rudisha.

  • @deano27671

Yeah my bad, I thought it was Rudisha, but of course he doesn't run for bahrain:) Rudisha is awesome though, definitely WR material.

  • too bad there isn't a better copy of this race

  • @drrsc I have a much better quality version that's on a dvd from a set that were put on sale a few years ago in the UK. If you're interested I can put the name and details of the distributor on here.

  • I'm a freshman who runs a 1:58.16 and nationals should get rid of the freshman quarter. So what..a kid runs 50 point whatever. The half shows more athletic ability and maturity.

  • The track looks very poor quality and he runs about 1.5 metres extra to pass Konchellah on the 2nd bend. Probably worth half a second faster with those two factors taken into consideration. That brings him down to Kipketer's WR! He didn't even set out to break the WR; it was very early season and his father/coach didn't go with him to this meet. Shame he didn't have another crack at it in August that year. He might still be the world record holder 29 years later.

  • Im a 8th grader and run a 2:15

  • @zachH198 im not an 8th grader and i run a 1:56.9

  • @bitchmaster69 well then is that good for my ability? because ill be down to 2:05 next season as a freshmen

  • @zachH198 yeah thats decent. try to get down to like 2:01 or 2:03 its not hard you just gotta get it on the first lap. like i get out in 58 and come back in 58 but most people run 56 or 55 and then come back in 60 61. you should get out in 59 then come home in 62ish thatll be a decent time but 2:05 is good for a freshmen

  • jesus i thought breaking 2 was hard..

  • Grade 9: 1:55.45 2005 Andrew Perkins, WI

Record for a freshman...I don't see how it is impossible...

  • what year did he do it?

  • my friend set the school record at 2:11 and were 14 so i doubt some of these kids saying their times

  • @ryder4782 yea thats prob a middle school record, which is good for middle school but compared to high school times its not comparable..not to mention im sure middle school track training is also subpar compared to high school so dont doubt people when they say they run faster then 2:11 because in high school level and up its not that great

  • amazing.

  • A truly phenomenal performance that will likely stand as the UK NR after Coe is gone. He executes classic and perfect tactics for an allout 800, a savage first lap followed by instantaneous and full commitment just after the bell with an allout effort around the bottom curve and the backstretch. Far beyond simply winning the race. Very similar to Christchurch in 62, yes you know - the alltime legendary run of PETER SNELL.

  • WOW

  • Coe is the man!!!

  • wow a guy in my school got a 800m time of 1:55 hes 14 is that good?

  • @Darren13moloney Is it good!? It's phenomenal. Coe didn't run 1:55 until he was 17!! Make sure he sticks with athletics and not some other sport!

  • @deano27671 well the run wasnt done on a track but on a football pitch so it mighnt hav been soo accurate.

  • @Darren13moloney Grass will be slower than a proper track. You should ask a teacher there to measure it with a trundle wheel. Lol.

  • @deano27671 I think Altitude might affect it. Did Coe run somewhere high up?

Cuz where I live, seniors are barely breaking 2 minutes and we're about 4,000 feet above sea level.

  • @msflameboy Hi!

I'm not sure which comment of mine you're responding too! It's hard to tell now with the new set up on here. I'll guess its about Kipketer's progression as a teen? Well, I'm not sure whether his runs then were at altitude, but it shouldn't make much difference for 800m. 1500m and up yes, but if you look at the 68 Olympic final in Mexico City (7400ft above sea level) it was won in a World record equalling 1:44.3, by Doubell.

  • @Darren13moloney

It is impossible for a 14 year old to get 1:55. It was not 800m.

  • @1glint34

Yeah, it's definitely impossible for a 14 year old to get 1m55 for 800m, especially when the UK U15 800M record is 1m54.72.........

god knows what the equivalent African record is

  • @JarradKillTheBear its not impossible, nothings impossible, after all Jordon West did it in 2003, but its bloody hard to do, but even rimmer was .56 of a second out. It's a shame jordan west went off the scene though, he obviously had a great potential. He probably over trained and got injured :/

  • @jamiewebb111

sorry, I knew West did it, I was only being sarcastic...the lowest form of wit! Yeah it's a shame about West, although very few high fliers when their 14/15 make it past the juniors.

  • @1glint34

theres a freshamn at my high school who runs a 2:02 so i dont thinks its impossible

  • @weGETbaked theres a freshie at my school who split a 2:01.77 during our state championships in the 4x800

  • @bitchmaster69 I split 2:00.4 and I'm a freshman and will probably break 2 at New Englands this Saturday.

  • @HiddenPwnage117 yea we about to run our 4x800 at nationals nxt week so he'llgo under then. i go 1:56.9 our second leg goes 1:55.7 and our anchor goes 1:53.6

  • @bitchmaster69 Well be at nats to. My team is running the 4xmile and I am running the freshmen mile. I'll see you there.

  • @bitchmaster69 Good luck

  • @bitchmaster69 Thats pretty good. Me and him would have a close race.

  • @bitchmaster69 what are you trying to prove to me?

  • @Darren13moloney he definatly didn't do that in school. Without hard hard hard training that is IMPOSSBLE, and by impossible i meen never going to happen in school, to ever have the chance to do that as a 14 yr old you would have to be dedicated, adn still only one person (Jordon West in 2003) has ever done that. AND that is with all the adrenaline of a race.

  • "all doping comments will be removed"...that dumb kind of censorship will NOT keep this sport clean! keep closing your eyes if you want to, but accept other opinions!

  • imagine what he could have ran with a speed suit on

  • he ran at a pace he knew he could do, i agree with ilikesex67 truly insprirational.

  • Coe lost at least 0.2 running wide round Konchellah just after the bell. That would have given him 1:41.5. The mondo tracks of the late 90's that Kipketer ran on were about 0.2sec per lap faster. Give Coe that mondo track and we get 1:41.1; the same time as Kip. Coe's run was decades ahead of it's time.

  • The best middle distance of all times and sadly not Olympic Champion in this distance. Nevertheless an 18 years's world record to shut the mouth of the critics. An amazing runner!

  • This guy is incredible... he puts my "good"-ish form to complete shambles. Legendary

  • amazing turnover on the last lap to go way negative. He knew what he had to do.

  • Fantastic. Seb Coe in fullest magnificence.

  • I could watch this over and over...I have to agree with MrSub4 (nice nick). Coe's training was way ahead of the pack.

  • Without doubt one of the greatest runs of all time. Back in the days when whitey was really, truly hard.

  • Science produced his times. Seb and his Dad were way ahead of the times.

North America has only realized in the past 15 years that Plyometrics are a tool.

You know what's funny? Hockey players and coach's think they invented them LOL!

    Runners rule.

  • Coe's run is great. Kipketer is even greater, though he is a specialist who would never have handled 1500m at the elite level. I think Coe's 800m and 1000m records were ahead of their time, just like Komen's freakish 3000m and of course Bolt's records, which, if he doesn't break them himself, will probably last 20 years.

  • Last 300 m on his own , pretty much sprinting the whole way ; just look at his speed on the final bend .........if Kipketer had not beaten it , this would still be the WR after 28 years ; amazing run from one of our true greats .

  • Yeah if he didn't have to go around the Kenyan runner at the beginning of the second lap he probably would have had a faster time then Wilson Kipketer's WR. Not to mention this looks like a dirt track and it was ran way earlier than Kipketer.

  • That man is fucking amazing.

  • i wish i had his form

  • Great that.

  • that has to be one of the sickest kicks in history!

  • Seb Coe,that World record!!!it wa so good,it took about 18 years for somone to beat it,and it is till the 3rd fastest time, and second fastest person in history for the distance after 30 years, blimey,

  • Ed Moses,great runner,Sugar Ray Leonard,great boxer,Seb Coe,great runner.

  • 1976 Olympic Final Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Andres Aldama

  • Forget boo toob,I thought youtube had a glitch,,,,,anyway enjoy.

  • c*py and pa**e into boo toob,you know what I mean.

  • "EDWIN MOSES WIN GOLD MEDAL -1976 OLYMPIC GAMES"

copy that into youtube, interesting if you are an Athletics fan.

  • a surperb Coe against the clock.

  • Who mentioned doping, that is indeed a display of ignorance, this race was great,Seb Coe,and deano27671 knows his stuff, from memory,as in the 1000 metre record, was it a best time,or a record, basicaly this was a superb race from Seb Coe,that's why we all remember it.

  • to even suggest doping is a display of utter ignorance! have a word. Still the 3rd fasted 800m time....

  • 3rd fastest time, although only 1 man has run faster, and that was 16 years later on faster track surfaces. Coe's time would have been 1:41.5 if he hadn't run wide to overtake Konchellah on the curve.

  • Definition of beautiful! What a race

  • At that time Seb Coe and Steve Ovett were awesome.

  • kibblinator: were you referring to coe's 800 meter WORLD RECORD or your own 800 meter time when you siad, "Its not exactly lightning, but its not bad.." ??? I just want to know. Thanks

  • i would just like to talk about seb and this rubbish around drugs, why bother talking about something with no evidence, unless your from a country where evidence is not important(you know who are!)stop wasting your breath and just enjoy these great athletes,by all means carry on talking cheap if thats your level by doing so says more about your character or lack of it!

  • seb coe joined my club haringay in the winter of 1983 and can tell you all talent is not enough,i was 15 at the time and what i witness was amazing,5x 1200m with 5 mins recovery all sub 3mins,he also had fresh athletes run each 400m with and their brief was to push and shove to prepare him for L.A.,talking to his dad peter about seb's training was enlighting, sorry to blow the myth about 50 mile weeks,he was already up to 75 pre moscow 80,and up to 100 in late 83 early 84,he also took rest days

  • Wow!

Thanks for that insight. Fascinating stuff. I have read about these sessions with youngsters when joining Haringay in '84, but to actually be one of those kids helping him out, must have been phenomenal. You're very lucky! If you have any more recollections about what he did in training in '84, I'm sure many on here would love to hear them.

    Thanks again.

  • @deano27671 I went to the UK for a working holiday (1989) and I was staying not far from the Haringey track (I ended up joining Woodford Green for a time). Anyway, I went to do a session and I saw Coe and I watched him do a few 400s , then run 1.02 for 500, have about 5 minutes rest, then run 2.20 for 1km. He was awesome. I would've almost paid to watch any of "The Beatles" (Coe, Ovett, Cram and Elliott) train on the track in their heyday.

  • Wow! Lucky thing! Some of his training sessions were more impressive than some of his races. Lol. Thanks for sharing that memory.

  • I seem to remember you had a lot of disdain for Coe in previous comments on here!?

  • the last time i ran this was a few months ago and i got 2.42secs when i was 13, i only just tried it out, i normally run 1500m, im now 14 and havent ran it since.

  • Awesome performance, and still one of the best ever on 800m!!

  • Is it fast for an 11 year old boy to run 800m in 3:24?

  • Its not exactly lightning, but its not bad.

I'm 13 and i train for 800's (Hence why i was interested in this) and i get them done in 2:26 (PB) so yeah i think the 3:24 for an 11 yr old is pretty good.

  • no 2 50 would be fast

  • No not really, depens on what you define as fast,

  • Your all idiots arguing on a youtube comment page about a man that can no longer run at a 7 minute mile pace.

  • Comment removed

  • deano27671, you are the biggest fool in this universe. you dont deserve to hold an account with youtube. you sound like a retard! Idiot

  • "Fool,...retard!...idiot". My my, what a great vocabulary you have, and a really excellent way of arguing a point; especially for a 19 year old. So happy to see education wasn't wasted on you. ;0)

  • you are too emotional and you start a fight that you cant finish

  • let Coe come out lean and admit that he cheated.

  • Idiot! You obviously haven't a clue as to the history of the event. Go away, read something and educate yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • 2:15 for a 12 year old is crazy, last time I checked.

3:07 to 2:15 will not happen within a year at that age.

  • that track was made of what??

  • That was amazing, and to think he could only run 1.59 as a 16 year old.

  • His pb at 16 was 1:56.0

  • well even at 1.56 that wouldnt put you top in britain for an under 17 but he just constantly improved, where as kipketer could run around 1.48 at 15 if im correct?

  • Yes, 1:56 at 16 isn't that amazing. The thing with Kip is that he was obviously Kenyan, & if you Google him & look at several websites, there is some disagreement about his dob. Some have it as 12.12.70, but his official is 12.12.72. It's alleged he ran 1:49.6 in 1985, making him 12! I don't believe this for one minute. 14, maybe. In the next 3 seasons he only improved to 1:47.0. Let's take his 72 dob, giving him 1:47 at 15. By 93, aged 20, he'd only improved to 1:45.5.

  • That's a 1.5 sec improvement in 5 years! In the next 2 seasons he improves by 2.6 secs in his 20's. That to me is more amazing than anytime he supposedly ran at 15.

  • Really , That makes me feel better I'm Running 1:59.6 U15

  • He was a late bloomer. Some people are early bloomers and are really good when they are young but never improve much when they get older. Belal Mansoor Ali would be an early bloomer, running 3:36 at 16 and 3:31 at 20. But sometimes I wonder if some runners are just that good or if there are a bunch of cheaters faking their ages.

  • dam how does he do that?! my fastest was 2:10 and i maintain my form and everything :(

  • What a performance! This is as inspiring as Bolt and Michael Johnson.

  • Seb Coe = British Sporting Legend, are greatest ever runner!!!!

  • Yes, he isn't appreciated for what he's done for sport in this country. Also the greatest middle distance runner of all time!

  • hahaha he probably was the greatest drug user ever you fool

  • don"t be jealous of the legend, seb coe! had incrediby low heart rate, between late 20"s bpm & low 30"s bpm. combined with dedication & fastest sprint ever in middle distance, he was untouchable at his peak! which is why the great wilson kipketer call"s him his hero! you fool!!!

  • Why is it obvious!? Because only 1 person has run faster? From your age you weren't even born then, so you know nothing about him. What drug was he taking? Steroids wouldn't have helped him. For cheats you should look closer to home and the African athletes of the late 90's who improved dramatically during the years when EPO was undetectable.
