What hypocrisy to claim to have all the questions and answers that will save the world but then only make it available to those that can afford to purchase the DVD. If this information was truly meant to help enlighten all of humanity to save itself from itself - then why is it not freely available for everyone to see?
Here are the film-makers' plans for the movie: "We plan to have a DVD for sale to the public on our website." Luckily - the YouTube users and other file sharing sites who took the time to post their own copies seem to care more about saving humanity than the producers themselves!
PS: The guy in the redwoods sweater is Derrick Jensen- I don't believe he's Native American but he does have some ties to indigenous communities in Oregon.
Does it seem a little odd that three out of the last four posts are impassioned negative responses to a film the commentators haven't even seen? I guess rushing to judgment and contempt prior to investigation or personal knowledge is the norm here- so Ill give it a shot. What a bunch of creepy, closed minded, ignorant, shallow, jerks! Judging from their comments they probably sell school kids kool-aid laced with toxic waste for fun. Just kidding! but really, you should hear how you sound.
Actually, it is documented how indigenous cultures found all over the world are aware of the impact they have on the environment, and try to live sustainably. The '2 years old culture' comment is pertinent, whether we are meant to be collectively aware of it or not. In response to your question, I can tell you that the documentary does try to give some answers.
yes zeitgeist addendum! you've seen it thats what i do too leave a comment after vids telling people about it. have you ever thought about going to a zeitgeist meeting in your area? or handing out dvds?
My mother and I attended a screening of this at a farmers market in Fresno called The Vineyard. I don't remember the date but it was during one of the wierdest storms I had ever seen there was lightening every five seconds or so. I thought it was a perfect setting for the movie
The only thing about this doc that rubbed me the wrong was was that - everyone in it was white & American. But especially the white part bothered me. I mean... if these are issues that affect everyone, shouldn't voices from the different communities-to-be-affected be heard? Surely there are Native Americans & African Americans & Asian-Americans, etc, etc who also have a sense of the things coming down the pike. Other than that critique... nice film that raises very important issues.
Break it down like this: What do you do on a typical day? DRIVE TO WORK, WORK AT YOUR CORPORATE JOB, BUY STUFF FROM CORPORATIONS, DRIVE HOME, WATCH TV, RELAX, CONSUME.
You cannot convince someone of fault when their livelihood depends on their misperception, so that is the first thing that needs rectification, and bittersweetly, the Savings and Loans corps are currently seeing to that.
What you and I can do is to reach out to these coal-mine-canaries, hold together as FAMILY, and hold our breath, grit our teeth, weather the fatal transformation and emerge together totally reborn and reinvented. Gene Roddenberry may have the last laugh yet!
CONTINUED:: but being deliberately dismissive and railing against those who speak the truth makes us even worse off. do some goddamn research!!!! do you think us ''doom and gloomers'' have nothing better to do than spread false apocolyptic nightmare stories on the web?? please. get real. get informed.
hey, bigmac2005; actually, it is just the mentality that you have shown (''we can just replace all the stuff we fucked up with more technology! we can just control it better! keep doing what we're doing, but better! rape the earth BETTER!!!) that is the fucking insane crap driving this machine of indutrial civilisation. we can already SEE the damage this culture has done. this culture works y killing the planet, to keep producing all its crap. that i9s never gonna work. we ARE FUCKED!!!

Its a load of rubbish. The percentage of co2 in the atmosphere is 0.00038 % nowhere near enough to cause any serious warming... tempreture rises are due to solar changes... watch "the great global warming swindle" on youtube
Good work! I nearly fell off the bus thinking about this kind of stuff. Could hardly get out of bed or bring myself to apply for a barely-there job in Michigan's crap economy, but all we can do is stick together and go for "better." Luckily, I've managed to surround myself with same-page advocates lately. Let's go!!!
Gimme a break... the carbon dioxide is going to kill us?
Quick let's regulate breathing because it will save the polar bears! O wait they breath too!! let'm die!

Just ordered this movie- can't wait to watch it with my family and friends! It's about time we evaluate what "progress" means to us as humans.

This is only half of the story; there are lots of mental concepts running peoples lives like religion and the monetary policy.
Search for zeitgeist movie.

Instead of us getting a life, I recommend you climb out of denial and once your there you may want to do a bit more research.
