Genesis - Six Hours Live, 1972-1980. Genesis was a progressive band in the 70s. When Peter Gabriel & Steve Hackett left the sound changed to what you hear today. This 2-DVD set shows Genesis in concert during those creative years and it's a side of Genesis newer fans should get to know. We revamped the audio, the video is excellent and THESE particular versions of these shows in compilation form are available NOWHERE else.
If by "progressive" you mean a GIMMICK band with performances being more about Peter Gabriel's goofy-ass outfits and huge fox heads than they were about ACTUAL MUSIC, then yeah, they were "progressive".
Give me the Phil Collins Genesis stuff ANYDAY! Beautifully written songs and lyrics. GREAT melodies. And top-notch vocals by Phil.
Phil makes photos of the fans and tells them to say "We love Genesis....especially Mr. Tony Banks". Then he says in german "what a surprise/coincidence that Mr. Tony Banks is also here...". That was his running-gag always after having taken the pictures with his camera.
Phill is very funny, I love him
