Please explain the first step: 'replace the channel installer partition with the game you want to boot'. A friend has a European Wii (PAL) Im trying to find a way to unlock it to play ntsc games on it, his wii came with Mamrio Kart so Ill try with ntsc Super Smash Bros to install homebrew. This is the first time I touch a Wii I want to know exactly how to do that first step as detailed as posible.
Wouldn't the size be too big to be fitted in the DL?Around 8.9 Gig..I have a 4.3 J with a wiikey d2b drive.Would this method work on mine ?

@Rocktip. You can softmod a 4.3e Wii with Bathaxx or Indiana Pwns natively. This guide with be of most use to those with 4.3k systems.
