  • I myself would have started off an instructional video with "checking the oil level" first.

But otherwise, good job and good idea to bump off the excess snow before shutting it down.

  • @goBUHuskies See my other videos. I have a seperate movie just for pre-op prep

  • it's not world peace - but the English language is standardized. Merriam-Websters, Encarta, Oxford dictionaries.

ENGAGE: -verb Mechanics . to cause (gears or the like) to become interlocked; interlock with. DISENGAGE: –verb to release from attachment or connection; loosen; unfasten: to disengage a clutch. "dis" as a prefix reverses the meaning of the word it's connected to. Disengage - is the opposite of engage not the otherway around.

  • Response from Certified Mechanic: @26 seconds& again @47 seconds U say, "when the clutch is dis-engaged the tires move"... "the impeller moves" OMG! Ur completly backwards! motorcycle, car, snowblower, lawnmower anything with a clutch: when the clutch is Engaged ur moving, when U dis-engage u r no longer connected 2 the engin & u r Not moving. The clutch is like an on/off switch between the engin&transmission. So U can B in gear dis-engage the clutch and stop while the tranny keeps spinning!

  • @MuhammadDarrell There isn't any standardized definition as to the engagement and disengagement of a clutch. The way it is phrased sort of determines the way you think about it...whether a clutch takes away the drive or adds to the drive. You are correct by saying that the snowblower clutch is engaged when the blade is spinning if it is stated that the clutch actively meets with the power of the engine to power the attachment.

  • @MuhammadDarrell However it is equally acceptable to say that the clutch is disengaged when the drive is spinning if you choose to say that the clutch in this case is a device which "clutches" the two drives away from eachother. It just depends on how you look at it, I probably should have clearer stated this fact in the tutorial.

  • I used my brand new Ariens snow thrower this morning and the headlight was not on. I'm guessing there is no bulb in there because the wiring looks okay and didn't find any switch. Looked in the manual and didn't find anything to help me.

  • @russelljsweet Either no bulb or the power isnt hooked up. If its anything like the machine in this movie, it is powered directly off of the flywheel. Check where the wire leeds- that's the easiest thing to do first. If the wire looks like its hooked up then id check if theres a bulb in there. Good luck!!

  • i have the 724 and i cant get it started!!! its getting spark but i dont think its getting any gas??. any suggestions

  • Sometimes the fuel line can become blocked, but usually this is not the case. Id check the fuel line first as it's easiest. If that flows OK, then you more than likely would want to check out the carburetor...cleaning and re-balancing all the components of the float valve should get you up and running again. Let me know if none of this works.

  • i have the same snow thrower used it in 17 inches of hevy wet wet snow a few weeks ago cant beat an ariens old or new they are all great. great vidio

  • lol its a snow blower not snowthrower

    snowthrower and Just the auger.

also when the clutch is engage the wheel drive work.

  • No, it's definitely a snowthrower. Look it up...

  • @TwinsTec101 You are 100% (in)correct. Ariens makes sno (thros) not snow blowers!

Impellers on all sno thros turn and throw the snow out and up through the chute. Where does all this blowing come in?

  • Why is the tip of the shoot look like its cut off?

  • It's angled like that to improve flow.

  • @jazzicron911 the old ariens deflectors are really short. I can tell from shape of the bucket that this is an older machine. Good machines, tho. Mine is much older still.

  • Good video, keep on doing them :)

Might want to add subtitles when you use noisy machines though.

  • Thanks for the suggestion, I may well add some in when I get the chance.

  • Have a 926 Ariens. Only one reverse gear works, and it's only 3 years old. I think it's the linkage. How can I fix that?

  • You'll need to take off the plate underneath the engine and wheels. Under there, there should be a rubber disc drive. My best guess is that the disc drive either needs adjusting or replacing. You can buy them new for about 15, they aren't that hard to replace by yourself if I remember correctly. If that does not work, check your differential.

  • lol when you said first pull

  • I just bought an Ariens....great video. Thank you.

  • Good buy!

  • how did you get the blower to get down to the pavement? we have a two stage toro but it will not do that instead it will ride on top of the snow if we have to much even on the first gear

  • Although companies advertise snowblowers as easy to run products, they are not. If you can, try pushing and pulling up on the handles slightly, as the scraper bar needs to touch the ground, and that's the only real way to do it. How heavy is your machine?

  • you could move the skid shoes lower.
