  • Aaahhh I have to play this song for a competition (for a scholarship) and I play WWWAAAAYYYY to fast so I mess up so many times but at least I can watch this video to help

  • Never listen to classical music while doing your homework. It will put you to sleep and your homework won't get done

  • Beautiful just Beautiful.......Is it possible to be in love with hands? Either it has to be or i just took three more steps toward insanity.

  • @pithosofpandora One viewer commented that she wanted to lick my hands, which seems related.

  • this is great music to kill people to!

  • ur hands move so fast i cant even see what key ur fingers r on ;)

  • i was glaring at your hands the entire time...you play beautifully T_T

  • Wunderschön perfekt Beethoven du bist einzig artig

  • @smalin i really wanted to play this song and i luv it!

  • YOU ARE AMAZING I LOVE YOU-3 teach me please :3 ahah

  • i find a hard time to loosen my left hand.i can play with it but i can't get it as loose as yu do.I try exercises and they seem to work but do you have any other tips ?

  • @musicResistances Try my suggestion to fatababes. If your left hand is tense, just stop and relax. Don't stretch to reach notes, just move your hand.

  • @smalin

Thank you so much for this beautiful piece of music!

  • Im not as good a pianoist to play this good of a song, but I am on a couple of hard songs. It will be easy to just do one line at a time, then put it all together. But what I think I totally cant do, is my moms Christmas present for next year. She wants my brother on guitar and me on piano playing Wizards In Winter! I saw your hands flying over that piano. Amazing! I heard this sont at my piano teachers recitle and I loved it! Could you give me some tips on how to make this song a little easier?

  • @drtrcr7 I recommend the basics: scales, arpeggios, etc. For two-handed practice, play a scale (or arpeggio, or whatever) in one hand while playing this piece in the other hand.

  • *sigh* envy, boys. envy.

  • Beautiful

  • Thanks for the advice @smalin and @Gargamelim

  • Could you give me some tips on how to practice my left hand? I'm really having a hard time on getting bass cleff? (if that's what its called) notes. I can do good with my right but my left seems to be left behind always. Thanks, I just started 2 days ago :D

  • @fatababes There's no substitute for practice. (I've been playing for more than forty years.) If you can stand it, try learning this piece with your hands crossed (so that your left hand is playing the melody). It will be difficult and unpleasant, but your left hand will get better much faster than it would otherwise.

  • @smalin Thanks for the advice I'm gonna practice :D thanks

  • @fatababes You can also just play with your left hand (the melody or acompaniment), without playing with your right, this will greatly increase your control over your left hand. After playing the piece correctly with each hand separately, you will easily combine them.

  • @Gargamelim Thanks I'll practice this also I really want to learn :D

  • @fatababes Hanon exercises my friend. I'm dedicated to them.

Let me know if you can't download it. I'll get you a copy. Bob.

  • @fatababes Look this exact phrase up on the web:

Hanon, Charles-Louis The Virtuso Pianist in 60 Exercises - Part I

You should be able to download from the free scores website.

  • @robertmazzo Thank you :D

  • how do you work on interpretation? is it just listening to how other people play it and taking the bits and pieces that you like and incorporating it in your interpretation?

  • @user48113 I sometimes listen to other people's performances, but most of my interpretation comes from just studying the piece, figuring out how it's put together, how it works. For example, I just finished working on Debussy's Second Arabesque. After I'd practiced it, I listened to a bunch of performances on YouTube. Some of them were very impressive, but what I ended up doing was very restrained compared to what everybody else did, because it seemed like a delicate piece to me.

  • 2012 New Year's Resolution is to be able to play this piece.

  • frumoasa e aceasta melodie.....imi place mult

  • I really enjoy the way you play Beethoven. I've done really well at learning Moonlight Sonata after seeing your video, and am going to make this my next project :)

  • I have been practicing this and I am on 1:26- 1:44, hopefully I can finish that part so i can move on. Wish me luck guys. :D

  • @simplychristian21 Good job!

  • Its easy i learned it 1 hour, and i am not music expert ... 20 min to learn it , and 40 to praktice

  • Same

  • i only know the begining

  • i wish i could play this song,

  • i love a lot

  • me gusta mucho

  • damn he makes it looks so ez

  • @warmaniac555666 It *is* easy --- once you've learned it the right way. That's why you practice: to make it easy. To play well, the technical part --- playing the right notes at the right time --- has to be easy (ideally, as close as possible to completely automatic and unconscious), so that you can give all your attention to the interpretation. If you have to divert your attention to the mechanics of playing, the interpretation will suffer.

  • @smalin well well well put...the same thing applies to every art form...hope I get there...

  • I'm soooo proud to bear the name of such a stunning piece of art.

  • really nice playing ....excellent piece of music....

  • Why do people call this a song? Is it itunes fault? A song is sung, this is an instrumental.

  • I think this is my favorite classical song, followed closely by Moonlit Sonata. Thanks so much for doing this one! I love your steady rhythm. Sometimes people like to play "passionately", but it just winds up looking like they rush through the piece, you really take careful time. Again, your uploads are greatly appreciated.

  • can u guyz hear that beepinq noise?

  • @KasmiinHD Please read the FAQ.

  • playing this at my recital today :) took me nine LONG weeks to learn it, and I'm still messing up in some places. Really hope it goes well today. SUPER GREAT playing here though.

  • @gorgo9999 not a great piece to start with

  • @PowellZac Maybe you are just an idiot with no appreciation for the classics?

  • What is the use of alternating your hads at 0:43

  • @JimJimJimNL Look through the comments for a discussion of this.

  • @smalin

    merci

  • @JimJimJimNL In the music sheet, the notes says alternate left and right hand, but it's the same notes... so it's left, right, left, right, then right right right... I don't know why Beethoven wrote it that way. You can also check the piano sheet.

  • @CrazyJessica1231

Does anyone know why Beethoven did it that way?

  • @JimJimJimNL Yes. It's easier and natural to play it the way he intended it to sound (with the groups of two being distinct) if you do it that way.

  • This one is used in the epic rap battles of history JB vs Beethoven

  • thanks this vid is very well done and useful to me. Great!

  • My canary, Paco, and I love this. Your hands do dance. Lovely.

  • absolutely fantastic, as always!

  • Lovreeeeee

  • مره روعه

  • You made my study pleasant. Thank you. :)

  • I love this song it has always being by fav you just made my day by playing that thank you

  • I can play this with on finger....lol jk ur skiled man good job

  • Thank u sooooo much..you have mad skills..can you do the same type of video for moonlight sonata....I am struggeling with my fingering and this video was very helpful fuř me.

  • @imafussy1 <<<hear that he/shes struggleing with its fingering

  • so niemand deutsch hihi

  • I can play this but my hands look really bad doing it. my fingers keep goign up and my hands have to reach farther than are used to on a daily basis. Oh well i'll keep trying!

  • hm komme aus deutschland

  • this is beautiful! Great job!!!!

  • The weird solo's are just too weird for me to play, but I know the basic parts :)

  • Wow!

  • I actually think that the way in which he moves his hands is so beautiful and harmonical, its romantic how the audio and thanks to that soft movement of hands the video combine to create a exquisit masterpiece... My friends always critizice me because i listen to this music (im 15), but i think is art and is something that our generation should never forget! sorry for the writting mistakes, i speak spanish. Anyway, peace and lovee! hahaha

  • he makes it look sooo easy =), I can't play it this good =/

  • just ONE word, meant to say. :)

  • just word......................beautiful.

  • it looks like hes molesting that piano

  • this is the first piece I learned to play on the piano, I love this song !!!

  • Awesome.

  • احلى سمفونيه لأحلى ملاك

  • This sucks so bad! you can actually hear how he rapes the piano with his fingers

-.- a shame that humans can make this kind of shit ...

  • Wow, If only people could be as talented as you :)

  • Are you moving your hands that way for dramatic effect ?

  • @PsychoMenkz I didn't think "now that I can play the piece, how should I move my hands to create a dramatic effect?", if that's what you meant. Playing the piano is like dancing with my hands. Part of that dance is what's required to make the keys go down at the right time with the right amount of force, but beyond that, there are motions that are akin to "follow-through" (or "lead-up"). You might say that the motions have an effect on me, to remind me what to feel and express in the music.

  • @smalin i was joking, i could see that it is part of the technique plus it reflects your passion for playing. I play the guitar and bass my self.

  • @PsychoMenkz I don't get it. What's the joke?

  • @PsychoMenkz Bro you got told! HAHAHA LOL Do you move your hands that way for dramatic effect?

  • @smalin Absolutely brilliant. Just started learning the piano and this is the first piece I am learning. I'm at speed to bar 44. Causing me a bit of problems from there but I'll stick at it. Any advice would be great

  • @PsychoMenkz that is the natral way to move the hands when you play piano, that is a good technic

  • Piano playing must have truely been an art back in those times. Now days we have keyboards and synthisizers. Imagine hearin Ludwig play this for the first time

  • @Nerdynate253 must've been amazing.

  • Awesome!;)

  • I never got over the fact he was deaf

  • @noobtubingnuker He wasn't deaf when he wrote this.

  • @smalin but he was when he composed the symphony n9 so

  • @smalin he means Beethoven

  • @megaguitarkid123 So do I.

  • I am currently learning this on piano :)

  • i cry :;)

  • this is very nice!!:))

  • First song i ever learnt before my first lesson. Only takes an afternoon for a complete nub like me to do the first bit. Superbly played anyway.

  • i can play this song yeah!! baby fuckme!!

  • great job :)

  • great job :)

  • wrong finger placements..:D

  • i like this song,i can play it on guitar!! a piano is the same as guitar but slighty lower.

  • @TRGSpidey Ah, but it is difficult to play both treble and bass on guitar as you can with piano.

  • @AmeKurou actually i play acoustic guitar...

  • I really wanna take piano lessons. I have taken many before but I have not forgotten everything. I have taken lessons at school and they do teach very well. Im 12 and i really wanted to take this year but they are 200$ for a term. Which is alot. I really wanna learn this and play it at the school concert but I cant unless i take the lessons or am a professional. :( and i dont have a piano at home. :( what should i do? and im really desperate i love the piano.

  • @TheMeanKittylover2 ask ur parents if u can have a teacher ... if they see u have talent or will train hard sure they will buy you one... bbut know piano is hard.... u can also ask ur musik teacher for privat lessons

Thumbs up for: my epic english skillzz

  • @Xall1996 Well its not really hard for me. not really showing off but i do have the talent. My parents really want to buy me one but dont have money for it. asking my music teacher is a good idea but will where i take the lessons?

  • @TheMeanKittylover2

I dont know .... Its cause here in Germany its alittle bit different from england or where ever you live XD

My parents arranged the teacher and everything for me so...

  • I don't know why the start is the most famous bit, its not the best part! And i've always like the recapitulation in this piece!

  • I don't know why the start is the most famous bit, its not the best part!

  • I Can't Believe that Was Free !!

  • like !

  • i learned the beginning just by the parts a heard on movies and such, now i see this and im like :O

  • i learned the beginning just by the parts a heard on movies and such, now i see this and im like :O

  • I want to play like you, but i cant T:_T. Can u repeat the video but whit the program Synthesia please.

  • This man was literally making love to his piano with his hands

  • damn tune makes me want to cry. love it.

  • This is PERFECT O_o

  • Your hands are so smooth (as in so relaxed at the piano)! Love watching your hands

  • man love this song

  • EXELENTE

  • That high pitched tone is so cool!!!!! Good to know my hearing is still youthful, now onto the newer video!

  • i was locked in a hearing and emotion sense like never befor, no song and no sound have ever done this to me but this do..... wow im amazed

  • @LHITShappy What should I do to make the note at 0:10 more obvious (and get viewers to follow the link under "Show more" to find the version without the annoying tone)? I've answered this question many times, and tried to make the note clearer, but nothing seems to help.

  • @smalin oh i see, look like many of us have got dumb sight. and i was keep skipping when i heard the high pitch tone. Maybe put the notes right at the begining of the video and enlarge the font size as much as possible, so everyone will realise it as soon as the video starts :)

  • @LHITShappy Oh, actually, I was mistaken; it does appear at the beginning. And it is pretty big. Look again and see if you have a comment about how to make it more obvious.

  • @smalin i think dat's fine, it's just so many people won't think about it. Maybe changing the video title will help, like saying fur elise sole: high pitch tone version - see notes in the video for a better version.

  • Piano hero :B

  • Could you please specify what does the symbol above 51st measure means?

  • you are a great pianist! I love the way you play this, and the way your hands move. What a elegance......it's like you caress the keys, and it looks (and sounds) so amazing!

  • love it

  • Brilliantly done!

I read somewhere that beethoven supposedly had the legs of his piano removed,so when he played even though he couldn't hear much, he could feel the vibrations!

  • when that complicated note comes up i usually put my hand down and rest my other hand since i don't need a place it on the piano will it make it sound weird?

  • Чудесно.Спасибо!!!

  • @TTOSWE This is no game, my friend. This is Real.

  • @smalin yeah... you shouldn't be Proud of That

  • @smalin lol

  • @smalin Is it harder to learn how to play or read the sheats?

  • @richard2mitchell I can't answer that. It's like asking "is it harder to learn to converse fluently in a language, or to learn to read fluently in that language?" Being able to read music means being able to do something with what you're reading. So, part of learning to read is learning to play; you can't separate them.

  • @smalin Oh i was thinking it was like *this simble you hit this key* type of thing

  • @richard2mitchell Well, yeah, it is, but it's like "this symbol, and you put your mouth in this shape" for language. Knowing that for "S" you put your tongue against your teeth and blow air through it is something you learn, but it's a long way from there to being able to pick up a Shakespeare sonnet and reading it expressively. There's a lot of other stuff involved ...

  • What that ain't slow I can't keep up with both hands I've been trying to play this song but I only got the first 8 notes down

  • I love playing this song.... :) nice job...

  • I've been working on a bass guitar solo for this for some time now, without any sheet music. This is really helping to fill in the gaps that I couldn't get on my own. Thanks for sharing!

  • Awesome job! I can't even play it that good!!

  • Sit down son and let me give you a music lesson..

  • oh wow you play this wonderful :)

  • Chills ........

  • Dude, bravo!!

  • I'm gonna learn and oboe this year.Does Fur Elise exist for oboe ? :P

  • @3939stefan (see the FAQ)

  • Nice play this video helped me alot. And thank's about the ,,Q: Where can I get the music for this piece?

'' I looked all over the Web for this song. Now i almost play it :P

  • @3939stefan Click your heels together three times, say "there's no place like home," and then read the "Show more" for this video.

  • Nice play. And thank's about the ,,Q: Where can I get the music for this piece?

'' I looked all over the Web for this song. Now i almost play it :P

  • Bravo!

  • I wrote a book about the "Immortal Beloved" called "Beethoven's Immortal." My take on it is the reason that the reason that nobody ever found out who the "Immortal Beloved" was is because she is from the future. It is a time travel story and you can find in at Synergebooks and Amazon among other sites.

  • If I could learn to play this I would be die a happy woman.

  • what software/application that was used showing the scores in the lower right? Thanks!

  • @le0nardodamunchi Lower right?

  • @smalin oh oh.. lower left :)

  • @le0nardodamunchi I entered the music into Sibelius, did a bunch of screenshots, and pasted them together (with a Matlab script I wrote for the purpose). The image was then imported into Adobe Premiere Pro and moved with a motion timeline.

  • amoo esa obra

  • i can play this song on my piano and my volian

  • I love your playing, I love watching your hands as they move flawlessly. You are gifted! I learned to play the piano years ago but "cheated" when it came to learning scales and using the proper fingering. I am trying to "relearn" which is difficult but watching you is truly inspiring.

  • @williamarissa I had terrible fingering when I was young, but it got better as a side-effect of getting better as a pianist in general. If you focus on trying to play with ease and expression, you will find that the "correct" fingering is the one that gives the best result, and is the most natural, and the one you want to use.

  • This is awesome! I wish I had a piano but the closest thing I have is a keyboard ...which is broken and old :'(

  • beautiful. ive never seen the music for it and i figured out one day. ive been playing for about 7 years and now piano has become my life.

  • Absolute best version I've heard in... well... it's been WAY too long.

  • una verga k es esta rola

  • wonderful.*-* :'( <3

  • wow.. i really love classical music..

it makes me feel calm and relax.

  • you miss one

  • Used to have a recording of this, used to listen to it for hours when I was like 5, its unimaginable one man can create such a beautiful sound that will live forever.
