i'm not a big one for 60s soul but I've always thought this one was immense - using the Archie Bell tune and doing his stuff over the top is well before its time.
I still do a bit of stomping mixed in with a lot of old school as you call it but no acrobatics theses days once a month at the twisted wheel Sunday sessions
Big split?
Went Wigan 1976-79
People back then and now used to argue about new / old / funky / rare who cares if you like it dance to it if not don't yes I was there when the Levine out banners were on the balcony!
All bolux to me there were two damcefloors at Wigan if you don't like the new stuff do what I did go un b
One of my favourite tunes of all time!! .... but my mate Glenn always refers to it as a rip off off of Archie Bell........ an age thing I think, he's a bit older than me you see :-)
First time I heard this riff was at the Casino. Gazoor
great tune & class footage...not to mention foot WORK. I'm jealous of those who can really stomp..cool to watch (somehow even moreso when its a male stomper too!) Cheers for the post ! PVG
as usual sir,top stuff;amazing version of archie bell's "tighten up".radio dj's used to bump up their earnings with dance instructions records like this, some of which were big northern tunes.another example is e rodney jones "r & b time, another killer.thanks for the post
Does anyone know who the black guy is wearing glasses? I reckon thats the best stomping I've ever seen! I know p-funk was awesome too tho! :-)

Some good 'scat-cat' dancing there too with the old schoolers in the background. Must be round about the time of the big split of 75.
