I am sure that Dumars and Rodman would beg to differ. Kobe has a very advanced ball skill set and has so for years. Kobe is a special talent. If he was not he would not have been drafted out of high school by a Hall of Famer player and GM. Things would be tougher but I am sorry you are underestimating his talent. As Jerry West stated on Beyond the Glory, this kid is never going to be a role player, he was going to be a superstar. Phil Jackson as well in the book The Last Season.

How many players in any era that were threats to score in every stage offensively? Bryant scores in all from multiple ranges. Outside of Jordan who was a better individual player than who Rodman and Dumars guarded? Magic never had the range nor arsenal of moves and shots that Bryant has. Nor Barkley or Drexler.

Yap, but Barkley has strong body able to knock Shaq down to the floor. Barkley also has speed and mid-range, makes him an effective offense player, he has even higher FG than MJ.

Magic can organize the team offense, he is tall, good offense, and incredible skills and personality to push teammates up.

Drexler, ok, he is weaker than above two.

Kobe, yap, he can shoot anywhere, incrediable jump shots and great to drive.

But Kobe always weaken against tough defense, number can tell.

Who should be in the HOF? Kobe yeah. He is a hall of famer but is not on Jordan's level. Rodman and Dumbars should be in the HOF also.

Kobe has a height advantage on Dumars. Size. Post skills. Dribble movees. Sorry Dumars would nto shut him down. Rodman could be a problem due to him focusing solely on playing defense.

If Dumars wouldn't have shut him down, he would have limited him. He was knwn for his lower body strength and intelligence on the defensive end; he would've coped with Kobe's post game, which isn't as efficcient as MJ's was. If Dumars could sometimes stay with Jordan on his drives, he would have no problem with Bryant, who has never had the explosive footspeed Jordan had. KB now has trouble shaking defenders, so he often settles for long jumpers. I don't think Dumars would bite on his fakes

Jordan had all of that on Dumars too but Dumars is an intelligent defender...i think he would shut down Kobe because Kobe complains about foul calls too much and that would frustrate Kobe..Dumars and Rodman were extremely tough defenders and that would frustrate Kobe cause he's not used to it especially in this no "hand check" era where you can't get physical...Kobe couldn't hang w/ the Bad Boys especially if he could hang w/ the 04 Pistons during the Finals

All of these so called elite twos guards and forwards in the league today would get tripped up by defenses like this. Just think after Jordan mastered the pistons.... he had to mop the floor with the knick defense....that in my opinion had an even more rugged defense than the pistons, all this he did while getting up there in age as well

He just cuts teams to pieces with his dribbling skills. The pistons are one of the baddest defensive teams of all time.... and Jordan is just anticipating every defensive scheme they throw at him....and he's countering it with supreme offensive skills and knows how.

No players attacks the basket today like Jordan did back in the day. Body leverage, body control, footwork, and aggressiveness is picture perfect. Kobe, Lebron, no one today can touch that even with the 3 second lane rule.

they dont allow players to play like this anymore because of fear of star players getting injuried or having career ending injuries. The leauge wants to protect its product and thats how they look at it. Lucky jordan didnt suffer a career ending injury.

And Rodman is one of, if not THE best defender of all time. He's an extraordinary athlete, with great fundamentals. We always saw MJ size up his defender and take it to the hoop if he was 6'6 or taller.

Rodman was varsatile defender. He could guard any positon even centers. He guarded shaq in the 96 series. In guarded bird,magic,pippen and jordan. He had great foot speed which allowed him to stay with players and keep his body in front of them. Was a superb defender and the greatest rebounder

Prime time Rodman will easily hold prime Kobe to less then 15ppg in playoffs easily. Rodmans reflexes were so quick. He was super athelete. He could cover large distances with long strides & his lateral movement was mindblowing. A scorer can pass Dennis but he always made up the lost ground in time b4 scorer could set & score. I 100% agree with you man. Rodman remains an underrated defender in most peoples eyes despite his awards. He would completely contain Kobe. He was one of the few guys that could guard someone right up in their face and not get beaten off the dribble. Bryant hasn't got the footspeed, athleticism or creativity to beat Rodman. He would likely get frustrated and just bull his way into Dennis forcefully, picking up a charge. Rodman would shut down his drive and take away his jumper. Plus, with his
