  • but i want to build my own firewall from scratch...

  • Let me mock lordfranz24:

    H0w many firewalls can a XE6 run?

  • but is it a fast firewall?

  • How many firewalls can i make?

  • comodo firewall is the best outposts ok

  • how many firewalls can a cray cx1 supercomputer handle?

  • @lordfranz24 What do you mean? It depends of the type of modules that are installed on the CX1. Remember, the computer is basically modules(The actual computer) interlinked by the CX1 'case'. The CX1 is actually a workstation monster, and a box running a firewall doesn't need to be a FLOP monster. I even have a old Dell running monowall.

  • @sudoLinux666 thnx this helped alot!

  • try using smoothwall or utangle (or untangle)

  • can i be untouchable if i have 100 firewalls that's kinda like an army of 100 superior internet cops?

  • it sounds like he says ip cock lol

  • lol 2:48 wtf

  • @WebWashers lol

  • FirewallBuilder is quite powerfull too

  • So sorry it's taken me so long to respond but I found that Zone Alarm free version has been doing a great job.

  • Lockergnome why would you delete my comment what do you have against Zone Alarm?

  • does smoothwall or ip cop have SSH login? if it does can you turn it on thru the webgui?

  • what's better smoothewall or ip cop??

  • Comodo sucks for win7 64 it has all sorts of issues!

  • yea its damn anoying when u installed it for the 1st time all the blocks and popups but it can remember ur decision and then it wont anoy u no more

  • Even then, Comodo doesn't play nicely with VLC it cuses sys crashes.

  • @speye57 daaaamn maan il thank u soo much i thoud my pc i dying that my motherbouard is killed or somethn i got like 15 restards per day im so uninstalled comodo it but now im bit defenceless have any idea for a another?

  • ipcop is ace, used it for so long it's still running on a p3 733mhz 512mb 20gig - for well over 2000 + computers on my corporate lan

  • i cant fix my nat problem with my old belkin routter ,i have problems with my xbox 360 and ps3 multiplayer games.please help

  • turn on upnp and find out what ports get opened up by your consoles and their games, make a note and setup port forwarding of those ports, give the consoles static ip's and finnaly turn off upnp, run the consoles network diagnostics before and after so they discover the upnp abilitity of the router.

REMEMBER TURN IT OFF when done.

  • Sunbelt Firewall is pretty good, I also recommend it.

  • Winroute by Kerio is probably the best out there, yet it costs like $300 for a 1 year subscription, and yes it does run locally on a firewall pc, but you have to pay yearly.

  • It could be you have the virus. You should also check if your help and support center still works, because, if it don't, than you are in BIG TROUBLE.

I suggest you format your hard drive...

  • Erm, I think my firewall is broken, I get a notice that it isn't running, then when I try to turn it on it says "Windows Security Center can't turn on firewall". Then I try to turn it on manually and it says "Windows Firewall settings cannot be displayed because the associated service is not running. Do you want to start the Windows Firewall service?" "Yes" "Windows cannot start the Firewall service".

    OMG H4X0RS!

    (OS is Windows Vista)

  • comodo free personal firewall is pretty good firewall :)

  • IPCop is the best firewall for any machine. I'm planning to build one for my house, and a Windows Server. Red = Modem, Orange = Router, Green = Basement PC, Server, and Printer, and Blue = Wi-Fi.

However, the server will have a separate domain, and some of the computers, cannot have a domain unless it's a Windows XP Pro & Windows 2000 Pro, even Windows 9x can connect to a server. Great video, by the way.

  • fire wall: wall that's fire safe

traffic: alot of cars driving around

hardware: something very hard, i recommend software instead...

chat room: a room where people can go chat with eachother

    just joking :P

  • i have an old laptop, that's harddrive burned out and i dont use it anymore any suggestions what i could do with it?

  • bin it

  • buy a new harddrive and use it? sell it

  • Comment removed

  • quite informative

  • Haha someones jealous

  • i am agree whit u marvelofff

  • No hes a geek and he knows it. not a nerd.

  • I came across IPcop while looking for a way to improve general security of my SME clients.

Even old hardware such as A PIII server is worlds apart from a chip on a router to process incoming packets and analyze them. NAT routers just dont cut it anymore imo.

My only criticsm is the lack of new hardware support NIC cards. Other than the features are excellent, and easy to setup in 5-10 mins if you have done it before. I've been looking at away of running this virtually.

  • if you knew what you were doing your videos would be in a better format and the sound would be even with the pixle time. OH and btw all you videos do is beat around the bush. you realy dont know what you are saying. Has any of you NOTICED this before! i think we have a wanabe!!!!

  • umm, do you have a brain?

google search "Chris". thats ALL you need to do. not even his last name. K? and another thing, if he was a "wanabe"(spell it right(ya wannabe)) then why does he have his own bloody tech confrence (Gnomedex).

only reason this video isnt "with the pixle time" is because its probably on a little hand held video camera. he's actually a virtual jedi. end of story.

and Chris, as for the video: thanks for the vid:D i'll certainly give it a go on my old win98 machine

  • He mostly talks down to people that hardly knows anything about computers. So he does his best to speak there language. Why would he be a tech guy, if he talked in his own language and for people not to understand a word he said? You're such a douche bag.

Your just another super geek that fights other super geeks in the "Battle of the Ram"

"Kiss my Ram motherfucker! My Ram's bigger then yours! Yeah!"

  • Hmm. call us geeks, we honestly don't care...

You obviously don't really know much about computers yourself so don't think your all cool by practically spamming the comments and talking rubbish about someone u don't know.

like i said.. he obviously knows what he's talking about if he was on a TV show, he has his own tech conference, He's got as many videos and subs as he does on youtube... get a life dude..

and not a single "geek" participates in this "Battle of the Ram" shit.

  • Any that was my point.... Wow. Read.

  • yea but sometimes he is wrong. for example a hardware firewall? don't think so. the firewall is just software on that hardware.

  • dude ur finaly not in that one room

  • nice

  • IPCOP is based off of SmoothWall.

  • haha 2:48 = priceless

  • a real nerd has a cisco pix or a MS isa 2006 at home.lol

  • geekery < /dev/null

  • i pee cop. Rofl. LOL = I pee on cop? lol just joking

  • don't need firewall if you have router

  • what do you mean, I have a router so how do I do this.

  • most routers by default block incoming connections, you have for manually forward ports to allow connections from the internet to your computer.

They do allow your connections (most often TCP/IP out to a server, then this connection is used till it is closed to transfer all the information. This is why OS's have software firewalls to stop possibly malicious software from trying to make connections to the internet to send out private data or steal cycles from your computer.

  • O, thx for this. Now I understand why I need to port forward for my VNC on my ipod and also torrents.

  • UMMM, No! Then what is the point in having a computer as a firewall?

  • thats only if you have a really good router with a built in firewall. plus, doing what he is saying is better than anything else you can do

  • To repeat others, Comodo!

  • Alpha sheild, hardware firewall, no software....nuff said.

  • smoothwall is better

  • Comodo is the best! It wont slow down you PC or Internet connection! And its free! What else do you want?

  • it mucked up my pc...

every time it turned on I got the blue screen of death. (well I have Vista, it's blakc but it's still called 'BlueScreen')

but lucky I had Tech Guys to system restore scroll back coz I owuldn't be able to do it through the main pc whilst in normal pc mode.

otherwise I would have had to re-install..

pluss. COMODO FIREWALL PRO homepage says it works with Vista 32Bit which is what I have.

  • You have my condolences on the Vista!

  • I was replying to 'SuperiorBeen' but it didn't go underneatrh.

    COMODO never again!!!

I liek Vista alot but prefer XP and like Mac's but love Linux expecially Ubuntu!

  • that is retarded.....

    COMODO FTW

  • get COMODO Free Professional Firewall, it is the best firewall i have ever used. Blocks internal traffic and outgoing traffic. the best one ever.

    cheers

  • Cool, Chris.

  • first comment

  • RUBICON?
