the real mt. sinai in the bible is in Saudi Arabia and another thing which backs this claim is in the bible Abrahams wife the bondwoman HAGAR which in Arabic means one who does pilgramage was sent there with ISHMAEL , Abrahams eldest son. You can keep denying ISLAM all you want but who does pilgramage(HAJJ)? TRUTH stands alone , falsehoods perish. Duetronomy 18/18, which prophet is most like MOSES? Brethren of the Isralites , yes it is MOHAMMED pbuh descendant of Ismael.
No, Google the article, IS MOUNT SINAI IN SAUDI ARABIA? by Gordon Franz. It's not in Saudi Arabia. Tradition is the memory of a people who did not forget as moderns do---and as the evidence shows.
Nevertheless, islam4jesus and diegolara, if you look at this video you can see a rock record display the parchment Moses used for a stencil when sending the commandments to Mount Sinai using a miraculous process. The area is probably chosen for the spectacular recorded view of how Moses and people delivered the scriptures in such a grand manner.

This comment has received too many negative votesshow
to comprehend the phony WW2 holocaust claims one must first comprehend the phony biblical "Exodus" story. Judaism exists only because of the many phony atrocity hoaxes that the jewish planners have invented and spread such as The Exodus, Fall of Jerusalem and The Holocaust. Read online the recent LA Times featured article "Doubting The Story Of The Exodus" in which even prestigious jews such as rabbi David Wolpe and professor Ze'ev Herzog admitted that The Exodus story was only a fantasy.
I'll look forward to seeing the documentary, hopefully they'll be confident enough in their findings to put it under professional scientific scrutiny from an impartial party.
It's exciting to find evidence of what could be from one of the most exciting events in Old Testament history.
...If the bible says Horeb is in Arabia near Elim and the 12 wells and that area contains artifacts that support a 40 year stay, evidence of abundant water etc. etc. thats tough to counter. This is especially true concidering that the traditional site can niether be authenticated by scripture or physical evidence. Personally, it would appear the case is now solved. I know the church does'nt like it, but they just made a mistake. It seems fairly simple.
I understand what you are saying and it appears that if the evidence is there, then this must be the correct site, but the problem for me is the small inaccuracies - I believe the Bible is absolutely accurate in what it says, it is man's error when evidence doesn't match up with the Biblical account.
I don't believe in overlooking small details - as in well, perhaps they got it wrong on that point.
Sorry for going over old points again, but in the video they failed to mention that Saudi Arabia (modern) and Arabia (historical) were different, and covered different amounts of land - to me this got me suspicious - did they know this - or did they choose to cover up this fact?
Moses and the Israelites spent two years in the Mt Sinai area.
I doubt we can come to a scientific resolution on this, and it is personal choice on what you prefer to believe. - peace.
....Yeah.....I agree they probably spent 2 years at Sinia before moving up to Kadesh. Moses' father-in law was the leader of the Midianites....Midian has always been in Arabia...and that is what the bible says. We all have to decide for ourselves...but Wyatt made a believer out of me though. In 2010.. I heard there will be a documentery coming out about all this.....should be interesting. I don't think this is really a matter of science....plain common sense and a little reading should suffice.
Moses leads the people through the Red Sea in Exodus 14. This is then followed by the song of deliverance.
Then in Exodus 15:22 it says: "So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. And when they came to Marah, they could not drink of the waters of Marah, for they were bitter."
Genesis 16:7 - Hagar has run away from Sarah and Arbraham, she stops at a place called Beer-la-haroi, which we are told in Gen 16:7 is on the way to Shur.
Since Hagar has travelled from Hebron to Beer-la-haroi, in a westerly direction toward Egypt, we estimate that Shur must be in that direction, hence in northern Sinai.
All of the Biblical commentaries agree with this, although most of them were written quite a while ago.
I was originally convinced that the Arabian theory was entirely wrong, however after some research I am now not entirely sure it is.
I still believe that the Sinai setting fits best with the Biblical account, but there are some pieces of the Arabian theory that do seem to fit with the Biblical account.
The sinai location does not contradict the Biblical account and this is why I agree with that version, even though there is no empirical evidence.
.Shur is only mentioned once in the book of Exodus....but no where does it say they had to cross the Red Sea to get there. Like I was saying before, they walked from Goshen to the wilderness of Shur and on thier way camped near the northern tip of the Red Sea. From a biblical perspective, all the evidence I've seen so far in the last 2 weeks...points to Arabia. Elim and the 12 wells, then working backward and forward. Paul said the mountain of Moses...is in Arabia.
...I suppose it boils down to either accepting the preponderance of the evidence....or Constantine and his mom. lol. Some people are biased toward Rome so I can understand the reluctance to disregard anything that would controdict that view.
The Arabian theory sounds really tempting, but it throws up too many problems...Sinai, although lacking physical evidence, fits with the geographical route displayed in the Bible, is accurate according to hundreds of years of biblical criticism and professional geographical analysis and makes more sense in its close proximity to the home of the amelakites.
I very much doubt that Constantin had the power to change the hearts and minds of Christians who had suffered martyrdom rather than paganism for more than two hundred years.
Christians at the time were very much the same as Christians today, all things had to be verified with the accuracy of the Bible - read the accounts of the early church fathers of the time to see this.
..Rome has an interesting way of obscuring historical facts. Here is an example: While on tour in the city with a professional guide, I was shown Trevi fountain, the Coloseum , the Vatican etc. etc. Later we were shown a statue carved by a rather famous sculpter. It was a statue of "Moses" so the tour guide explained. Upon closer examination we noticed the statue had horns on it's head. lol. We proded the guide for some info, but he did'nt have a thing to say. Very odd.
We are told that after crossing the red sea Moses led the people through the wilderness of shur. We know that Shur is in the northern part of the Sinai peninsula, and not in the arabian peninsula. (See Genesis account, where God appears to Hagar)
....All maps conferm that Shur is in the northern part of the Sinia near the bitter lakes region....Moses lead his people through there...no question. Maps of the period show the penninsula as part of Egypt as it is today. The bible says Arabia not Egypt. Saud is just a family name of the current rulers.....the house of Saud did'nt exist in the time of Moses. The scriptures are accurate....Wyatt new this...and so should everyone else.
...btw...Constantine and his mother were Pagans at heart....there is no reason to believe thier interpretations. Their supposed conversion to Christianity was more of a political manuver. Interesting history on the intentional corruption of things related to the bible.
Sinai was not a part of Egypt at the time of Paul's writing in the Bible (Where are you getting your sources?)
The Romans named the region containing the Sinai peninsula Arabia Petrea around a hundred years after Paul's writing, verifying that the Sinai Peninsula was a part of ancient Arabia.
If you agree that the Wilderness of Shur is in northern Sinai, then how would it be possible for Moses to lead the people across the red sea (and into Saudi Arabia), then miraculously beam over to the wilderness of Shur for three days, before beaming back to find Marah (the location of which remains unsolved)
...There is no need to cross the Red Sea to get from Goshen to the deserts of Shur as the Red Sea is 50 miles south of there. They went from Goshen to Succoth then thorough Shur and the mountains of the central Sinia. From That point on to Etham then down to Nuaba at the beach on the western shore of the Gulf of Aquba. Directly on the other side (Arabia) is the land of Midian were Elim is located (12 wells) the holy mountain is at Jabel el Laws. It's been solved.
..Incidently it is a straight shot north from Jabel El Laws to Canaan. The distance the Isrealites traveled to get to the Red Sea crossing is about 140 miles....the bible says they traveled 6 days and nights. The holy mountain can not be on the Sinia penninsula for dozens of reasons. The logistics don't work as well as being contrary to scripture.
If you pay attention to the order of the Exodus as presented in the Bible we read that they cross the Red Sea before arriving in the Wilderness of Shur.
For some reason you have them passing through the wilderness of Shur before they cross the Red Sea.
Saudi Arabia is a modern geographic boundary, one thing history teaches us is that geographic boundaries change constantly with time.
...I guess that the map in the NIV must be wrong...and that Shur is indeed not in northern Sinia. Intresting. One thing we do know is that Elim and it's 12 wells,as well as all the other artifacts pertaining to the story, lie on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Aquba....not to mention the Egyptian artifacts found in the water.
Shur is in northern Sinai according to Genesis. You can't change the facts just because they seem to contradict your theory. There is no tradition of an area called Shur mentioned in connection with Saudi Arabia.
I will agree with you that there are some interesting points with the Saudi Arabia theory, but none of them are conclusive.
The columns found near the Saudi Arabia Mt Sinai site are suspected of being of Nabataean origin by many critics.
I am not saying that it is impossible that Mt Sinai is in Saudi Arabia, but I am saying that there are MAJOR problems with the theory that render it inconclusive.
What I like about this theory:
The artifacts found in the Gulf of Aqabar (For me this is the most compelling fact, but until further research is undertaken is not sufficient proof - eg where are the hundreds of chariots and human remains?)
I like the fact that the bitter lakes are where the Bible states they are, this is very interesting.
I like the fact that there is what appears to be an altar at the base of the mountain which features petroglyphs of bovine creatures, (something unique) to Saudi Arabia.
Although the petroglyphs are amazingly similar to the hundreds of other petroglyph sites found across Saudi Arabia, which causes suspicion amongst many critics.
The assumption that the Bible is stating that Mt Sinai is in Saudi Arabia. It is not, it is pointing to Arabia, which we know from the writings of Strabo covered the region of the Sinai Peninsula.
Why were the petroglyphs not destroyed at the same time that the golden calf was destroyed?
What is supposed in this theory to be the altar of moses with the 12 columns or pillars is considered by some critics to be of Nabotaean origin, thus dating no later than 1BC, this is based on similarity with other Nabotaean constructions and the fact that Nabotaean pottery was found at this site.
It is interesting that there are 12 pillars, and the critics could easily be wrong.
The size of the alter is very large, many other altar discoveries of later dates were never this big.
...Yes...that may be so, but were only talking of a distance of 140 miles....this is not a huge area. A million Isrealites could have easily made this journey traveling 6 days and nights. The fact that there is no physical support for the traditional site is what seems to be giving this story legs.
What we know about Arabia at the time of Paul's writings comes mainly from the writings of the historian Strabo, who lived around the time of Paul.
We also have the old Roman accounts regarding the area. At the time of Moses' writing the area was not known as Arabia, this is why he simply calls it a wilderness.
There are some very interesting points regarding this theory and I cannot disprove it, nor can I prove it.
...You could be right about the penninsula....half the maps I googled earlier show it as Egyptian, but some as Arabia. The intresting part is that the land due east has always without question been known as Arabia now called Saudi Arabia, which would jive with the biblical account.
....What I heard is that the petroglyphs are unique to Arabia and that they are Egyptian in design. I think I'm going to buy Wyatts book....I find this whole thing rather intriguing.
.....I can't find anything conclusive that pinpoints Shur.....do you have a chapter and verse? There is so little evidence for the traditional site, I guess that's why the Arabian site seems the most probable.
That's not Mt Sinai. That is the mountain the catholic church chose as Mt. Sinai. Just another deception by the catholic church. The real Mt. Sinai is in Saudi Arabia. This should be common knowledge but its not since there is people with certain interest who don't want the truth to be exposed because then it would prove that the story of Moses and the Bible true.
At the time of writing the Sinai Peninsula was considered part of Arabia:
The Romans named three regions with the prefix "arabia", encompassing a larger area than the current term "Arabian Peninsula": * Arabia Petraea: for the area that is today southern modern Syria, Jordan, the Sinai Peninsula and northwestern Saudi Arabia. It was the only one that became a province with Petra as its capital.
Sorry to disappoint you Bro, but according to the latest archaeological discovery; The real Mt. Sinai is over in Saudi Arabia other wise known as Jebal Al-Lawz, just as Paul in the Bible said and the Quran of Islam stated ( next to Midian).. check it out on you tube. See the blackened, burned peak, the split rock which Moses struck, and the altar which the golden calf was placed.

Moses and his people can never have reached this area in former times! The whole area inside Sinai had no food for these many people and their animals during the long time of passing over. And at no time they were able to cross the deep waters at Gulf of Suez. They have passed in the area of the Bitter Lakes and the direction north to the Mediterranean Sea.
So the story about the 10 commandments on top of this mountain is nice but not true.
Christians, who are informed, believe that Moses crossed the Gulf of Aqaba on the eastern shore of the Sinai peninsula over to "Jabel Al Laws" in Midian or Saudi Arabia by a land bridge found by satellite typographical cameras underwater. The alter of the Calf was found with the fire mountain & rock that burst forth water for the Israelites.
You are right that Moses and his people could have not made it there and survived....... BECAUSE THAT IS NOT MT SINAI!.. The real MT Sinai is in Saudi Arabia. So stop attacking God by using false locations that aren't even the real places that the Bible speaks about.
@JoWarner then let me tell you something, all the way jewish people walked in this desert, g-d gave the jewish people food from the sky called "man" and that man was a spaciel food that what ever you want to eat that spaciel food will change in your mouth.. quit saying stuff u know nothing about

The Arabian theory points to what may be evidence for the true location of Mount Sinai, but it cannot say conclusively that this is the place.
The petroglyphs in my opinion are obviously from a neolithic people, and it is extremely unlikely that they were created by the Isrealites.
This site so far has gained no professional interest - does this mean that professional historians do not take it seriously.

vachief 2 years ago
..Incidently it is a straight shot north from Jabel El Laws to Canaan. The distance the Isrealites traveled to get to the Red Sea crossing is about 140 miles....the bible says they traveled 6 days and nights. The holy mountain can not be on the Sinia penninsula for dozens of reasons. The logistics don't work as well as being contrary to scripture.
vachief 2 years ago
If you pay attention to the order of the Exodus as presented in the Bible we read that they cross the Red Sea before arriving in the Wilderness of Shur.
For some reason you have them passing through the wilderness of Shur before they cross the Red Sea.
Saudi Arabia is a modern geographic boundary, one thing history teaches us is that geographic boundaries change constantly with time.
Arabia covered a greater area 2000 years ago

...I guess that the map in the NIV must be wrong...and that Shur is indeed not in northern Sinia. Intresting. One thing we do know is that Elim and it's 12 wells,as well as all the other artifacts pertaining to the story, lie on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Aquba....not to mention the Egyptian artifacts found in the water.
vachief 2 years ago
Shur is in northern Sinai according to Genesis. You can't change the facts just because they seem to contradict your theory. There is no tradition of an area called Shur mentioned in connection with Saudi Arabia.
I will agree with you that there are some interesting points with the Saudi Arabia theory, but none of them are conclusive.
The columns found near the Saudi Arabia Mt Sinai site are suspected of being of Nabataean origin by many critics.
DoctorX1932 2 years ago

DoctorX1932 2 years ago
The points I don't like about the theory:

DoctorX1932 2 years ago
I don't believe the theory is 100 per cent accurate with the Biblical account, but there are some very interesting points to take into consideration.
Could this be the real Mt Sinai?
It is possible, but it is not certain.
Consider for example, that the Sinai Peninsula is closer to the home land of the Amalekites than Saudi Arabia.
DoctorX1932 2 years ago
...Yes...that may be so, but were only talking of a distance of 140 miles....this is not a huge area. A million Isrealites could have easily made this journey traveling 6 days and nights. The fact that there is no physical support for the traditional site is what seems to be giving this story legs.
vachief 2 years ago
The chapter and verse in Genesis is Genesis 16:7.
DoctorX1932 2 years ago
...You could be right about the penninsula....half the maps I googled earlier show it as Egyptian, but some as Arabia. The intresting part is that the land due east has always without question been known as Arabia now called Saudi Arabia, which would jive with the biblical account.
vachief 2 years ago
....What I heard is that the petroglyphs are unique to Arabia and that they are Egyptian in design. I think I'm going to buy Wyatts book....I find this whole thing rather intriguing.
vachief 2 years ago
.....I can't find anything conclusive that pinpoints Shur.....do you have a chapter and verse?

See the blackened, burned peak, the split rock which Moses struck, and the altar which the golden calf was placed.
islam4jesus 3 years ago 10
@islam4jesus maybe you should write "a real Mt.Moses is somewhere else" because it sound strange if you say Mt.Sinai is outside of Sinai Penisula

wow..just think God touched this mountian with his finger when he wrote the 10 commandments ...moses was so lucky
sandyjane77 4 years ago 5
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Moses and his people can never have reached this area in former times!

Mr. JoWarner it seems you haven't read the Holy Book, I advise you to start.
The People of Israel Stayed in Sinai for 40 years God was feeding them from heavens...
