Did you have you car up on all 4 wheel stands at once? If so, what was the safest way to do this? I have a 2011 Camaro SS and plan on painting my calipers inferno orange this weekend.
@KB20720 Yes, all 4 should be off for easier access. If you have a hydraulic jack, jack it up with the Scissor jack points, or just use ur stock Scissor jack. Then, with the corresponding corner lifted, place an axle stand under the subframe. The rear ones are weirder, you place the axle stands on the rear Subframe bushings. They are huge cylinder like things infront of the mufflers.
@TheRoadking30 I used 3 coats each caliper. You will still have some left over. I would say u could go 4 light coats on each caliper before you empty the can. But if you want bare minimum, I would suggest at least 2 coats each for the nice gloss look.
Thanks for the Vid, about to order this kit on Amazon, wanted to see it done to the same car I have. My LS has the stock 20's(upgraded at purchase) - was there enough left over to paint any 'exposed' part of the center of the rotor? I'm' not even sure if any is visible with the wheels on, but just curious how much you had left over. I'm a painter by trade, so... no probs there.
@Kick2TheJunk I had enough to coat all 4 calipers again. I coated them all 3 times. If you coat them 4 times, you will use it up pretty much. Don't bother painting the center of the rotor... you wont have enough paint. You can use the paint for engine parts like the Throttle Body though. Since the paint can take on High Temps. =)
@Jcal022 I used about 3 coats on each caliper. The first coat will take the longest, since you will be very careful with the details. The next 2 I did were faster and thicker. Theres enough for 4-5 coats actually, but I thought it was enough.
@LoadedDesperado Well, if you feel comfortable removing the calipers first. Then by all means go ahead. Caliper removing isn't hard, but could be a hassle to someone who hasn't properly done it before. I chose not to because that was the beauty of the G2 Brush on.
@me407100 Hmm.. what type of wheels do you want? Any ideas? Tirerack and Discount Tires Direct have good deals all the time. But if you are looking for something special, let me know =p
Thanks!!
