The Piedmont that's still flying is a regional carrier. It's the former Henson. I'm referring to the Piedmont that merged with USAir on 8/15/89. The real Piedmont...lol
Allegheny became USAIr...reportedly Allegheny execs commissioned an air traveler preference survey that listed the various carriers as well as a fictitious "US Air" as a control name...the airline changed its name when "US Air" came out ahead of Allegheny!
Great airlines. I used to live a mile from Stapleton Airport in Denver and remember Western, TWA, Ozark, North Central, TIA, Texas International and others.
I worked for ASII in the late 80s and we handled alot of charter flights , i can name a few .....Key Air , Presidential Air , Rich International , many more that have been long forgotten
And where is Trans Global Airlines?
;-)

nice touch with the smooth jazz. of all that i saw in the video, i miss MetroJet the most. (they were a low-cost subsidiary of US Airways)
my first flight in living memory was on one of their beautiful Boeing 737-200s.
