  • you dog is calm my JackaBee cries and barks like he is dying if you try to clip a nail.

  • Thank you so much for this video, I had no idea how to cut the black nails and like others I cut the quick on my shepherd's nails one time, I felt so bad for her. Thanks again.

  • This is the best video for dog nail trimming. I watched several (wasted time) and still had questions. My dog has black nails like this dog, and now I feel more confident on where to begin the cut. Plus this lady is using the same clipper I have.

  • thank you so much for the vid! Your great! My Schnauzer is past due his nail clippings and you just saved me!

  • your dog is so cute! She lets you cut her nails like nothing happens :D

I have to have two persons helping each other to get those nails cut. It seems like a lot of work! haha... but your dog is so adorable! ^^

  • i have a terrier mix and i can't clip his nails because he freaks out so bad im scared ill hurt him. i can't afford to have them done until august but they are really long anyone got some tips. remember hes small only 12 pounds. HELP!!

  • thanx, and your video is great.

  • i am looking for nail clippers for my dog and dont know wat type to buy, this look really good, can you tell me where 2 get them. thanx

  • I purchased this set of clippers at Wal Mart. I have other brands of clippers but the Wal Mart clipper seems to do very well.

  • it would be lovely if daisy would let me do her nails. i always have to get my mom to help me with her because she is just to fisty.

  • Lol if you were smart enough you'd know that dogs need their nails trimmed. If they don't get them trimmed they can grow over and start to cut into their paw pad. Great video thanks for helping, I have been so afraid since cutting my dogs quick to ever cut the nails again.

  • The over grown nails cause the foot to become arthritic and painful. Nails caught in carpet or flooring can be pulled off and cause pain.

  • @SoldierCyfix you only say that because , as far as I know your dog lives chained to a tree or runs loose

  • @kuwaizair actually i dont own a dog, i play with few pit bulls every now and then, and owned two cats in the past, thats all.

i was just saying, i think one should let nature take its course instead of cutting the pet's nails

  • @SoldierCyfix

so if your dog is old and sick and cannot walk around and play a lot. you should let the nails curl under into their feet?

  • I liked the way you explained how to cut dark nails, to look where the shiney nail ends and the dull nail begins. Clipping dark nails was a guess thing for me. I could do the while nails fine because I could see the quick. Thanks for the info!

  • I'm glad to be of help. The dark nails can be pretty scary!

  • I'm really glad I'm not an animal because I would be scared to see those and think they are for your teeth! LOL!

  • Thanks for the great addvice, was a great help.

thanks from all of us, and the Hairless Terriers in England

  • Exboy04,

To all of you, You are welcome!

    Susan

  • I think it's important to note that you must have a very good set of strong and sturdy clippers like you've got or else the nail will move with pressure and potentially hurt your pet. It's a good investment to have a set of nice sturdy clippers.

  • Great advice!

    Susan

  • my beagle is scared just to even see the clippers-so its pretty hard to do.

  • Clipping a dog's nails when it is scared is very hard to do. This is a great idea for a video. Please watch for the newest video (coming soon) on how to clip a scared dog's nails.

    Susan

  • Thats great when you do that facing the dog, and he is being good for you. Now do it with a crazy pug. Then I'll rate your video higher than a 1

  • Roibert,

You may use this technique for puppies, kittens, cats, rabbits and lizards.

    Susan

  • is it the same for a puppy of 8 weeks thanks

    really good video

  • Thx for the info.. Am gonna try it out myself..

  • BeatsonsGirl,

The angle of cut on the nail with the paw held behind in improper and will cause the nail to grow with the toe hanging out. Not really a good option for the health of the nail but certainly much easier to hold the dog.

    Susan

  • I prefer holding the paws from behind since it gives me more control and I can see how much to cut.

  • Jasafar,

I'm glad you enjoyed this video!

    Thanks for your comment,
