none of us from Biloxi could ever see this without being overcome with emotions and memories of places that are gone and altered forever. Very touching, ty. :)
I was an airbrush artist in Biloxi in the early 90's. I worked at T-shirt City-Souvenir City- and Lighthouse Gift Shop. It's truly sad to see everything gone. I hope all of my old friends made it out safely..... may this never happen again.
I am from Indiana and I just drove Hwy 90 to New Orleans in August 2009. I could tell that Biloxi had sustained a lot of damage, even without anything to compare it to and I was surprised that so many places are still not rebuilt or demolished. I have to say I am surprised that the media did not cover this area more. Your city is beautiful still and the fact that broken trees have been turned into sculptures is a testament to human spirit.
Many of the bodies were dust and bones, so it would be difficult to identify them. I jog by there alot, but I don't know the name. Biloxi is NOT what it used to be.
