Brasil and Sudafrica production is very, very poor...

Ehh, not really liking it even though I have a VW CC. Personally, I think VW's 2.0T 4bangers are too small, the minimum that VW should run is a VR6 3.6 Turbo.

You don't really get the throaty nice sounds until you hit V6.

That is correct. Most of the Jetta/Golf are produced in Mexico, or have that facility as their last assembly point. BTW did you know that VW was the first non-American brand in Mexico, and that thanks to the Puebla plant, Vw became so popular in the Western hemisphere? Jsut some VW history for you.

Are you kidding me, this 1.4 crap is rediculous and an i5 will own this pos, not to mention the 2.5's potential if you boost it, the 1.4 is twin charged and doesnt even break 200bhp, leave that crap over in europe

@JoshChadwick The inline 5 motors don't suck I have one and its pretty quick even stock. The only reason they seem slow for their engine size is because they are very restricted. I'm sure If I did intake, ecu upgrade, and headers I would be able to keep up with a mkv gli. I already have an awe cat back exhaust and let me tell you it sounds way better than any 4 cylinder volkswagen motor even the turbo ones which have a similar sound to a civic

@HeadlessPacman I have a Mk3 VR6 an I love the sound. Sadly I was told it will never never ever pass inspection again due to ruster rockers an floors. So On to a new dub in the summer.

The company is german, but 80% of Jetta MKV is made in facility in Mexico ;] Rest of it came from Soth Africa and India. You can also check google or Wikipedia, at least.

It is the 1.4 litre super charged and turbo charged engine from the Golf GT, as far as I know it is not available on any model in the USA.

I wish VW didn't mix up their badges for different markets.

In Australia I think we have TSI for the twin charged engine in the Golf GT and the new 1.4 Jetta which replaces the base model 2.0FSI (N/A Petrol) Jetta and we have TFSI for the 2.0 Turbo in the Golf GTI, Jetta, Eos and Passat.

Say how much did your Euro tail light assembly cost, and where? I have an 04 Jetta with Euro spec taillights, Rear fog etc. I take it you need a euro switch, and Euro tail light assembly and rear fog kit. Just wondering where you purchased it.

His probably came like that, he is from Turkey and Turkey gets EU-spec cars. I got my set from parts4euro (.com) for $179 (they changed the prices after I did to 199), and the switch from ecstuning for $60. Theres rewiring and coding needed to get the lights to work right. lmk if you're still looking for the lights and/or need help getting them installed.

Right on, thanks for the info. Well a girl totaled my Jetta, it had custom full cat back exhaust from Nuespeed... wicked with the Vr6, tuning chip, lowered, Bora badged with door cills, Front grill by charctre, eyelids, basically it had about 280hp to the wheels... Smash!!! I just bought a 2009 Audi A4 with all the bells and whistles.. its nice too but I miss the race sound my Jetta had.
