The iMac G5 only came up to 20" screens (the iSight model) and SL doesn't run on the PowerPC processor...

I have an iMac G5 (iSight) with 20" screen and it runs great with OS X 10.5.8 (which btw is the latest version of OS X that runs on the iMac G5) without any problems!

btw the iphone does have a ported version of os x. I am developer for the iphone. They took the same frame works and adapted them for a mobile device. And they redesigned cocoa, which is the application framework. The reason for the change was because cocoa was only designed to work with a mouse and keyboard, so they came up with cocoa touch

If you can run Both Leopard and Vista in the same environment, on a 24" iMac, you have the perfect computer.

Sure, you can't exactly go and upgrade your Graphics Card every 2 months. But, macs have been known to last.

A 8800gt on a mac pro is much better than an 8800 on a pc. and if u really need that quadro fx5600 Graphics Card for those intensive applications, a few $2000 more than a PC to buy a nice and shiny mac pro wouldnt hurt.

Mac Pro are more server-like machines and not desktop computers. An Alienware desktop computer equivalent runs one about $1,800 cheaper than the Mac Pro for example and that includes Intel Core i7 Extreme 3.2, 6GB RAM at 1600Mhz each, and 2 2GB ATI HD 4870 X2. The only reason one should purchase a Mac is either for style or OS, not the technical capabilities in comparison with a PC. Macs just cannot surpass PCs in terms of price. It's a matter of choice, as both OS' have thier ups and downs.

I prefer mac though, because I'm the kind of person who doesn't want to spend my life trying to figure out how to get the operating system to work properly (i.e, trying to disable UAC was a nightmare) Xp is fine though ;)

Macs are not necessarily simpler, but they do what you want them to do.

Windows Vista is only bad when u put it on those shit machines that companies like HP and Dell build to "support" vista. Some computers with vista dont even come with a graphics card! The minimum sys requirements should be AT LEAST: 2 Gb RAM, ~2.4 Ghz Dual Core Processor, and at least a 256 Mb graphics card. With those specs, Windows Vista will run perfectly fine for an average user without frustration!

XP does not need super-fast hardware to run, which is why so many people switched back.
