Usually you don't have pain or something, but if you are very exhausted, it is very hard to hit the higher vocal chords. It feels like you are losing the pressure that comes from your diaphragm and you lack the power to hold the note. It is ok again, if you rest a bit. But for example I have to take at least half an hour of rest till it is fine again, you can't afford that at wacken. I bet he worked on his endurance since that gig. It happens - so he did a great job!

Thats what happens when you stress and blow out your voice,its fucked for days and incapable of its potential.Roy is a champ and still goes through with the show and tries his best.Truly the best frontman of all time.

i'm a singer myself and this is all too easy. if you push your voice too hard with too much power a few days before, your vocal chords swell up and restricts your voice at higher frequencies for the next few days. This is why he sounds normal at lower frequencies.

Unlucky that this happened at such a large venue but all singers would understand.

@AntDaBiker it's painful to watch...you can see the frustration in his face that his voice isn't cooperating, what I don't understand is how you can get a gig like Wacken as an amateur audio engineer...holy feedback batman!

Im convinced at this point that Roy's voice was just toast for this show, it happens, whatever...AND the fact that the sound guys messed up quite a bit too...If youre getting feedback, DONT turn down the lead singers mic...@1:10 ...just overall a collection of errors, oh well!

I was there live. and i went to serveral live performances of kamelot and this was a really big disapointed, (and yes there were technical issues) like a really high peeping sound sometimes. thought it was quite awsome there XD
