  • Oh my god i really love this video honey

good job i wlll save in my fav

  • I like your version better than the real version. :/

  • Excellent arrangement and performance and nice music!

    Arthur MH

    [composer/BR]

  • I love playing by ear, I dont read music, at all but the books "His Dark Materials" and the film of the first one where great, Desplat's score is awsome too, glad to see someone carrying it into new formats

  • Wow this is brilliant ^^ Can't wait to see what he comes up with in New Moon.

  • I could do this, this is nothing special! I don't see what the big deal is...

    JUST KIDDING!!

    Keep it up..

  • Can't you write down the sheets?

  • incredible!!

  • woow *o*

  • very good ^^

where did you get the sheets?

  • There aren't any, sorry. I learnt it by ear.

  • who is the componist??

  • Alexandre Desplat

  • no words!

  • Long, long time ago I played the piano ... Who knows, maybe if I'd practise until today maybe I were pretty good. But you ... you are amazing .! Keep on playing.

  • your are so goood!great

  • youre fantastic

  • NICE PLAY!! :D

  • amazing!! can you please play "the breaking of the fellowship" from lotr1? i love that track and have always thought it'd sound amazing on piano.

  • lotmbeasts, i admire how u transcribe music by just listening. i'v played the piano 12 years now and i still suck wheneve i try to do what you just did. i can transcribe for about 2 hours just about a 5-second part of a song. and with that, i get frustrated and never again try to transcribe it. i am a frustrated musician. how do u do it?

  • Well, I usually work out the basic melody first then figure out the chords listening to the music as reference. Just keep trying is the best advice I can offer, it gets easier the more you do it.

  • thnx...

  • Wow, impressive! I love Alexander Desplat.

  • For major films they normally have a score book even when the films in the cinema. It's very annoying.

  • I play piano, I love the instrument and will play it untill I die. I also love the film and it's music and listen to it alot. This video and playing has shown me I must play it on piano. thank you for showing me it's possible. [I can't find the music anywhere on the internet!!!]

  • I don't think you'll find sheet music on the internet since it's such a new score. Just sit down at the piano with the soundtrack and work it out as you go along. Start with something simple like the main theme: the chord progression is just F minor to G major.

  • you are AMAZING!! really makes me want to learn to play! keep up the good work!

  • Thanks! You should try, it's not really as hard as it looks.

  • Your video looks classic lol, btw nice music you made there.

  • I'm Turkish. Golden Compass is nice film. This music is super.

  • You are very talented to be able to play these themes so well just by ear. The fact that you started only 8 months ago is unbelievable. Thanks for this...it's excellent!

  • Thank you very much for your kind comments, hisaishimish

  • I love Soundtrack from that Movie. Great job on that!

  • how many years have you with the piano? it`s beauty...people told me "hear this!", but I hate soundstracks, they`r could be sad, but you remember me how much I love the magic on piano..thank`s...

  • Thanks for your comment. I've only been playing the piano for about eight months but I try make up for experience with hours of practice!

  • hey how old r u? ur fantastic sounds awsome

  • Great job, sir. I enjoyed it thoroughly. This is going on my favorites.

  • I'd pay to see this live. I'm not kidding.

    Beautiful playing!

  • nice job! some themes are better suited to the piano transcription than others - 'Letters from Bolvangar' is nice, the more sprightly rendition of Billy's theme from 'Lyra, Roger and Billy' is a bit trickier.

  • Yeah, I wasn't too happy with that 'Lyra, Roger & Billy' bit but I thought the piece could do with something a bit lighter.

  • great job... usually piano on youtube doesn't sound great, thank god you didn't use a keyboard! This sounds great, you are obviously an excellant pianist.

This Sam/daemon_light on The Republic of Heaven Forums by the way! ;)

  • Thanks, Sam :)
