I absolutely LOVE the "I'm Black and I'm Proud" story. I didn't realize the history behind it. That song came out before I was even thought about ... but it's one of my favorites of all time. After four centuries of your culture being stripped, terrorism keeping you down, and legalized discrimination happening from 1619 until just three years before that concert, THIS is what Black people needed to internalize. And still do.

im no black but just love the vision of that man when he's young and alive with so much power in his songs that perked up the degenerated spirits of soulmenat the most degrading history of blacks in america...tell you brother, i feel like a rreal black man by his deep penetrating song ........ im a brown guy from the philippines
