Is Minecraft more of a processor thing? cos I've got a gtx 580 and get like 70fps, seems a bit low. While I have a stock i5 2500k, would this determine the fps?

@WoWrofllolz I'm guessing it's more of a processor and perhaps ram thing then it is about what GPU you have, also having the right version of java wouldn't hurt either. x3

@WoWrofllolz The FPS in minecraft really doesnt mean much, somebody I know has an Intel Xeon (six core) with a gtx 460 (same as 570) and only gets 30 fps, but never lags.

It's waste to pay so much money to play Minecraft without laggs.

he dosent have it set to "Max Fps" so it stays at a constant 60 Fps, or he would get 400 Fps :D
