Ha ha, I tried exactly what you said, and it rendered a 10 second clip, with all the maximum CPU eating FX in 45 seconds. I have a quad 3.5 GHZ no oc, AMD 970 phenom.
how efficient can two threads on one core really be, i mean is someone going to tell me that an i7 a 3ghz with four cores and eight threads can equal the power of my dual quad core mac pro? personally i think that threads don't make sense but i don't understand the technical aspect of it.
That's file processing dip shit. It depends on processing power, gfx card, and ram. The HDD is a fkn ROM, how the fk does it change the speed, except for file processing??

They are the most overclokable for the buck. the i7 860 is the intel processor that use the less wattages in intel history and still can perform like a 975 extreme because the all the same shit. you pay only for the badge. once overclocked all i7 is doing the same job.the only good argument about the 1156 is the dual chanel and sorry. this dual chanel kick ass since its an upgraded version .. So my choice is the 1156 and by far.

Its like £30 more for an i7 920 (mainstream 1366 socket, none of those shitty 1156 sockets) then it is for a Q6600, how is that expensive??
