For "open source" code that gets developed, should there be no way to sell resulting products and/or customizings?

While possibly not relevant to this video, some might like to have available customizings at reasonable rates.

Others might insist that everything from a free base continue to be free, even if nothing gets developed (no profit in it, by definition).
