  • This was just marvelous. They all had their own styles and all did it with such class from an era that made real music. Thanks for the video.

  • WOW!!!!!! THE BEST!!!!!

  • Beautiful tribute to one of the most beautiful vocal harmony songs ever. Gloria must hold the all time record for breaking hearts ...

  • Wow! Because of this song, all I wanted was a girl named, Gloria. Instead, I ran into Rama-Lama-Ding-Dong and she changed my mind. This is a great video!

  • daftben....you sure dont know music

  • I love this

  • omg

    wtf is this shit

  • In 1948 Gloria was resurected by The Mills Brothers after that it layed dormant until the cadillacs version

  • Gloria" is an interesting story. The song was written by Leon Rene, a New Orleans Creole songwriter who, with and without his brother Otis, wrote such songs as Louis Armstrong's theme, "When It's Sleepytime Down South," "I Sold My Heart To The Junkman" and "When The Swallows Come Back To Capistrano." In 1945, Leon formed Exclusive Records and had tremendous success with "The Honeydripper" by Joe Liggins.

  • DooWop Lives Forever!!!! I could be up there singing MY version too!!

  • It don't get any better than this, all the great lead singers singing GLORIA

  • Hi Milly, just look at my list of songs ,i have many more like this and look at the people i'm subscribed to ,many of them have doo wop music.Or just do a search on Doo Wop music and you'll find all u want.

  • i love this music can someone tell me how to create a playlist i am new at this.

  • My Grandfather lover this music he passed down the actual DVD to me and i look at it at least 3 times a week in his memory RIP

  • No one is better then yesterday's Today, Acapella version, find it you will agree

  • Brings me back to a time on the street corners of Paterson, NJ when we would get together and sing doo wop accapella, Gloria was always our first song, ahhhh, the memories.

  • we did da same ting at the same time but we were on Madeline Aveune in Clifton. Sittin on da stoop ,singin bass

"well I wonder wonder who...be dooooooo

who wrote the book of love?"

  • We still do that. I can never forget this music. True it's out of my time period but my friends and I always love singing on the corners. You can never forget the oldies.

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!

  • I thought so too!

  • @RATHAHONNI Questa è la colonna sonora della mia gioventù

  • All such great groups!!!

  • I have to say the Passions really have a great recording!

  • What a voice Earl Lewis has!! I saw him in person back in the eighties. He never seems to age.

  • Not to be a ditz but is FALSETTO/male for Soprano/Female? Either way, I'm in LUV L-U-V with Earl Lewis and those high notes! Yowza! Saw him sing this on the PBS Special a few years ago and went crazy! ;-) Besides he's short, just my type! ;-) TY for posting/sharing, and to TJ Labinsky for the awesome Doo Wop Specials on PBS. I was turned on to DooWop in early 1990s when I took Ballroom Dancing, Frankie Lyman, etc., great swing music!

  • what an evening we're having thanks

  • All of their versions of Gloria are pretty good, but I like the original by The Cadillacs. The groups are The Cadillacs, The Legends (recorded by Jimmy Gallagher, lead singer of The Passions), Golden Group Memories (recorded by Vito, lead singer of The Salutations), and Earl Lewis and The Channels. I am 34 years old, but I love Doo Wop and it will live on forever.

  • Doo wop will live forever as long as young folks like you enjoy. I danced to Vito and the Salutations at CYO (ask your Mom) record hops and I still get goose bumps...

  • love em all but can some one tell who the group before speedo and the cadillacs is?

  • Cool cats, dressed stylish and singing

romantic songs that made the chicks swoon.

    That what doo-wop is about.

  • This one is going out to Manny Mendoza from El Sereno,Cali.

  • Then theres the Shadows of Knight doing

G-L-O-R-I-A which is really a completely different song and was a dud compared to these hits. Another vote for Earl Lewis!

  • I have this wonderful show on DVD...I love a falsetto and must say Earl Lewis is fantastic....

  • Perfection!!!!! My mom said they harmozied so well!!!! And of course her name is GLORIA, Happy Mother Day MOM ~2008~!!!!!!!!!!

  • What are they saying when they hit that high note? I always wondered. I love this song though! :0)

  • Gloria...it's not Marie(high note) it's Gloria, it's not Sherry (note note) hope that helps

  • Oh ok, I guess that makes sense! Never thought of that!

  • yea awesome man check this out ; that's the night the night i cried, i can remember when we were going steady, bow do de whooo, hehehehee

  • Bless you for posting this. A moment in history preserved here forever. Thanks.

  • Sorry but Earl Lewis and the Channels have the best version, Earl with his Falsetto voice is one of the best. Jimmy Gallagher is also one fine singer, but Earl has him bet.

Long live doowop and may all the groups continue to keep the music alive. In Harmony

    Doowoplvr.

  • The Cadillacs was the orignal of this song but i myself like Earl lewis and The Channels version the best..I been listening to doo wop and oldies all my life..Its a art of my life i'm 29 and it wont EVER change..thanks for the great music

  • Sounds like u were born too late,it was a great time.

    Bring it back.

  • @jacob0978 The Mills Brothers recorded this song as a ballad in 1949.

  • rtp: i think its Vito and the Salutations!

  • wish Gus Gossert (NY) was still around to hear this....

  • Earl Lewis and the Channels

    Jimmy Gallagher - Passions

Vito.. (I think) and the sensations

    The Cadillacs

Its on the doo wop 50 dvd

  • what is the name of the group who comes out and sing first?

  • EARL LEWIS AND THE CHANNELS.

  • What got to me was at the end of this piece, these men all seems to have a true love, respect and mutual admiration for each other.

Goose bumps went all over my body to be able to appreciate the sight. I absolutely love this music. Never heard "Gloria" until now. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I loved this so much that I bought the DVd and buying more. Grreat sounds.
