It's going to be hard to duplicate the same quality of the original DALLAS. But at least its returning in some form, and perhaps it will raise the quality of the present style of programs especially on TNT!
They used this theme tune on Sky Sports News when Hicks and Gillett took over Liverpool FC still sends a shiver down my spine TWO FAT AMERICAN FUCKERS have gone now so all good
This was the season that brought back Patrick Duffy as Bobby Ewing. Dack Rambo's days as Jack Ewing were numbered. This was the season that picked up were Bobby asked Pam to remarry him, they sleep together and in the morning he takes a shower and when she "awakens" from her "bad dream" she finds him showering and tell him all about how she had dreamed that he had died. Classic!!!
If it is coming back, I will bet that they'll suck and not stay on the air for very long.
So far, relaunches of popular 80's TV shows have largely been spectacular failures.
With today's "talent" behind and in front of the camera on television and even film, there's just no way you can ever get the same quality and charm the original shows had which was so endearing to audiences.
the reason dack rambo got a opening credit WAS because he was expected to be the bobby ewing replacement hearthrob, and when patrick duffy learned he was nothing without Dallas he ran back
I lived right up the street from those two gold towers at that time. That entire area looks totally different now............especially Central Expressway. Living in Dallas was amazing during the 80's.
it's amazing now over 5 million people live can't you belive that, houston got more I see why now it's called the l.a. of the south like atlanta is the new york of the south.
I wasn´t allowed to watch Dallas at home, so naturally I made sure to spend time overnight at my grandparents and convinced them "suuuure, it was fine with mom to let me see this show..."
Dynasty is my favourite tv series ever in television history from theme to every single thing. However in Dallas this is my favourite opening theme!!!!!
The last AWESOME season of DALLAS. Because what killed the show was not only Patrick Duffy's ill-executed return, but the departures of Susan Howard and Victoria Principal
The season which was the beginning of the end for the show. According to Susan Howard, she was written out of the show at the end of the season. Donna was one of the more stable characters.
exelente serie la sigo viendo en tcm me tengo q despertar tempranisimo para verla la dan a las 5 de la mañana pero no importa me encanta gracias por subir esta serie pongan subtitulos en español porfavor
i have a dallas book written in 1985 titled "dallas: the complete ewing family saga, including southfork ranch, ewing oil, and the the barnes-ewing feud-1860-1985 and if anyone wants to buy. i will sell at any price b/c i am not doing this for money.
This theme is my fav of all of the seasons...I had such an awesome time at the 30th Dallas Reunion back in Nov08! Susan Howard, Charlene Tilton and Linda Gray were dolls! I am a true and loyal fan to this show! Grew up watching it with my parents and never missed an episode:)
Everybody loves Dallas - even Queen Elizabeth II of Windsor. Check out my tribute to Dallas on youtube "Dallas theme done Windsor style". You'll love it.
I remember reading an interview with composer Jerrold Immel and he said he made this special version of the theme as a tribute to Donna and Ray (it can be heard during their credits) and the problems they had since the dreamseason never happened.
Man .... this theme sooo reminds me of my childhood! This show was aired in Bangladesh back in the early '80s when I was a kid :) I remember only being allowed to watch the theme .... and not the show back then coz my parents declared that the show was for "adults only" :-)
I used to LOVE hearing this theme!! ... and since then ALWAYS wanted to discover Dallas! :-) lol

Dallas the best city in the world? I find that hard to believe. It hardly even looks like a city, more of a large surface parking lot. Maybe I'm missing something here because I've never visited the place. Closest I've been was Atlanta which was plenty dull.
@MCGeest - I lived in Dallas a year and it's a gorgeous city. Los Angeles, where I live now, is a parking lot. In 1987, you could walk anywhere in downtown Dallas - it was a people city, not for cars.
Love this version of the credits (except for the voice over as the DALLAS title appears, sounds like a chesty person saying J.R.) Other than that..Brilliant thanx for posting
FANTASTIC. although I am only 23, I have watched every episode from 1978-1991.. and I use to live 5 min away from the original Southfork Ranch located in Frisco, TX - you will notice the first couple of episodes were filmed a house that subsequently burned down. Lorimar productions then had to frantically search for another "look-alike" property - to which they found the Southfork you see today in Wylie, TX - just 20-25 min north of Dallas.
Thankx for this....I just ordered seasons 1 & 2 box set from Columbia house. I cannot wait to see them, I hope to collect them all. I LOVED Dallas! It was really something in it's day!
