WHAT ZONE IN PANAMA IS THIS'

@kukrima Isla Montuosa is inside the "Zona Especial de Protección Marina" of the "Parque Nacional de Coiba" or the 'National Park of Coiba Island'. Isla Montuosa is the other side of Isla Coiba from where we are based on Isla Cebaco, and although we sometimes travel there we usually fish the reefs and banks near our island.

That is a humminbird portable and the transducer is on the bottom with a suction cup

@tmtmtmtm2002 We sometimes use the Ocean Kayak Torque, which has an integrated MinnKota trolling motor, but we didn't have one in Panama. We were paddling the whole time.

Yeah, that's about typical inshore fishing on Panama's pacific coast. I own a little beach shack down there on the azuero peninsula, and can't wait to go back in a couple of months! I don't have a kayak down there yet, so I've only been able to fish from pangas, but still, great fun.

We wish... You're absolutely right that we should have been wearing them. To make a long story short... we had 1 PFD to share between 3 of us thanks to a bag that went missing in travel. What do you do when you realize you're missing a bag when you're out on a 6-day mothership trip in Panama? You either fish... or you don't. For those who don't get to spend 200+ days in kayaks each year, the answer should be 'Stay in a powerboat'. For what it's worth... We HATED not having them.
