  • I can just feel my heart sinking.. and I have always felt so afraid of that feeling, but when listening to BoC, it just happens, and I find myself okay with that.

  • I vividly remember tripping on DMT this past summer with some friends in a basement. It was like 3am listening to Pandora, and this song came on. One of the best trip moments ever.

  • @hidalgo699 I completely understood this comment :) made me smile. Keep livin the dream dude.

  • im stoned because of this music, and the f...chemtrails

  • Lol. Isn't there a song called "Bored of Canada" by Dead Mau5?

  • @PunkRocker9956 You're on youtube. Look it up

  • @RCD608

keep having a strange way of thinking*.

Sorry, this song had my spirit in another dimension while my body was typing this.

  • fr some reason boc and chemtrail videos go together good.

  • I feel sorry for those who need drugs to enjoy this kind of music. They're hallucinating to something that they should be in control of to understand.

  • @ThePMRadio This is a recurring argument that appears under most BoC videos. I totally agree that you don't need drugs to enjoy this type of music - I despise the term "stoners' music". However, the truth is drugs can and do give you a different perception of music, and this can be linked to a better enjoyment of it for some. I've tried weed and ecstasy and I did feel more immersed in music while under the influence of each. But to reiterate, this music still sounds amazing sober.

  • Let's face it, your life is a lie. Isn't all that a façade?

  • Ironically enough, I didn't realize how well Twoism went with a sunset until I watched this video. I listened to it at sunset and for lack of better words, you could feel the sky

  • Haha I am gay

  • dear boards of canada , it's time for some new cd!

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe I personally like to watch this to old space footage. It's great.

  • @carveriscool

    Yeah (:

There's some great old footage on the NASA website that I have also watched this to.

  • Это просто шедевры!!!!!!!!

  • So BEAUTIFUL

  • This is perfect for the Night Owl's to chill in peace.

  • I love posting good comments on Boards of Canada songs when I'm drunk. I guess I had weak beer tonight.

  • I used to do droges and listend to Boards of Canada.................... And i still doo :D

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe

You already know that doesn't make you sound weird. You knew this comment would earn you the respect of fellow "outsiders". I don't find your listening to this with the accompanying imagery that BoC often pairs with its tracks weird, I find your need to broadcast your behavior in an effort to glean authenticity points from strangers on the web to be weird.

  • @skulleton

    Thank you.

I haven't had enough sleep to try and validly argue my point, but why did you feel you had to say that?

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe

I'm genuinely sorry if I hurt your feelings.

  • @skulleton

It's okay. You didn't hurt my feelings, I was just confused by your reply is all. We should just leave it at this and listen to some good music.

  • Damn...reminds me of aliens o.O

anyway...boards of canada is damn good

  • Every song I've experience by these guys have hit all the right inner cords of my being. I feel as if they are tapping from something powerful and real from a sacred inner space we all share. Whether or not we find it important enough to hear its messages is up to us.

  • @ryablake Fuck yes, thank you

  • board of canada suck my memories and i liked it because im remeber who i am

  • i like how they can get away with just a few chorus loops and a few beat patterns..

yet its a nice satisfying way to spend a few minutes listening... its wonderful.

  • BoC transcends music and unlocks secrets within. I have heard everything they have ever made before I knew they existed; they draw on rhythms resonating behind time and like myself use music and energy to create a Utopia. Even if it is merely within our minds we can together exist in harmony, forever <3

  • @Vexenroth ill have whatever you're having

  • I DONT KNOW HOW

  • While I'm not partial to this particular production of BoC's, I love some of their other work, and the comments here are just brilliant. They perfectly embody the emotions felt when listening to that "perfect" song. I have to say, that odd "sweet sorrow," "complexity," or nostalgic feeling has to be one of the best feelings I've ever experienced, and one that I've found I can only get alone, specifically while deep in thought, or experiencing some sort of art.

  • Aww man, I want to take the album 'Twoism', the video game 'Final fantasy 7' and put them together in the oven for 40 minutes, i`ll call it nostalgia pie and it will taste delicious.

  • Alternatively, maybe the brain is just a staggeringly complex house of processes that fosters the intermingling of past experiences, making possible the evocative states that are instilled in us when we encounter stimulating works of art.

  • They totally tap into our brainwaves and spiritual energies. Maybe the nostalgic feeling we all experience are not from time long ago but maybe past lives. They remind us

  • This is a very low quality version of this track :P

  • My pineal gland is communicating within me .

  • @RenKinRaM I know what you mean.

  • I remember listening to this song on a beach in Thailand. We had just come back from the Half Moon Party, it was still dark, the mushrooms were wearing off and i was wading out to sea with a joint. It tripped out my friend so much he had a panic attack. lol.

  • do you ever wonder if your the only one listening to a song...doubtful..

  • @S1W2E3D it is jan.22/2012 8:08 pm while i amlistening to this. i wonder whom else is listening to this song at or relatively close to this moment in time.

  • Strange music that feeds me good vibes.

  • DAT SNARE

  • How can something that sounds so simple make such an enormous impact? BoC are the masters of making complex productions sound effortless and simple.

  • I suppose its a good thing that this piece of music makes you feel at ease / not at ease at all at the same time...how many musicians can do that ?! Well done BOC!

  • listening to this while eating a cheeseburger and fries

  • im feeling this beat good work

  • @5.20 amazing sound!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Definitely Earthbound-ish.

  • Thir music has a strange sense of nostalgia to it....

  • the intro feels like something eminent, like death, is gonna happen, but then it kicks up and that thought is not up bad after all

  • Shooting tonight's sunset to this. I fucking love BoC.

  • Blueberry starts at 5:22

  • when i listen to boards of canada i feel emotionless yet stable sort of like the earths darkness our planet endured specifically this song though

  • @Emulatorgamer thats deep man, a+++

  • i listened to this on loop while driving past the white sands desert in new mexico at 3am. total darkness, no other cars, fighting off sleep.

  • @sirweeze man thats buzzy. I like that

  • @sirweeze Unless it was cloudy, you had the company of "a million stars."

    Thanks for the lovely image.

  • @sirweeze

    GOOD LORD, awesome.

  • @sirweeze

That is AWESOME!!!!!! Must of been something :)

  • @sirweeze that sounds pretty stupid this probably is one of the worst songs to fight off sleep to ever I mean would listen to how mellow it is

  • @sirweeze that would be so awesome

  • @sirweeze At 3am, you lived the life of champions.

  • @sirweeze Oh man I just feel it as you write it. I've listened this track so much in the car as well. So wonderful.

  • @sirweeze that sounds extremely safe

  • Heavy Chemtrails at 2:48

Also their only picture on facebook has a clear aerosol spray. Perhaps they're eerie because they've seen the darkness of the world....

  • I hope BoC will make music till I die.

  • Comment removed

  • like all BOC songs...... this one makes me feel like im coming down on lucy at 4 30 in the morning

  • @PARTYable123 Lucy?

  • @ChiefPredz

    lucy goose-ie

  • @PARTYable123 Jack n Jills? Im still partyin at 4:30am!

  • @ChiefPredz

lucy does that to you :D

  • @ChiefPredz Reference to a Beatles song, I'd guess. Never heard it before myself though ^_^

  • If you like Boards of Canada, Hammock, Helios, Goldmund, Eluvium, Unwed Sailor, Sigur Ros, and other similar artists, you might like my stuff. I'd love some support! :)

  • if you like BoC, check out 4valleypyramids

  • 15 people are fan girls of Justin Bebier

  • The pictures in this video fit really well, especially at :52 and 1:16. This song sounds like a darker, after sunset in the city when the world has gone to bed version "Otherworldly Foe" from the Earthbound soundtrack.

  • @LeavingSociety

Boards of Canada and EarthBound... someone give this man an award for taste.

  • @LeavingSociety

I just finished playing through earthbound again, and I've gotta say that alot of it's soundtrack sounds like it was made by BoC!! it's actually pretty neat how many distorted samples were used.

  • This reminds me of Slayer-Raining Blood.

  • @charger619c

    Couldn't agree more?

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe It does actually remind me of Akira Yamaoka though, he does the music for the Silent Hill games.

  • I love this song

    2:45 chemtrails

  • Sedating and Stimulating. BoC is the Kratom of IDM.

  • @PanicOnFunkotron

I am not wrong, but you're welcome to back up your claim with evidence.

  • their sound really does remind me of old NFB footage, it's fantastic, what a strange place to find inspiration, but I'm glad they did

  • They remind me a bit of Japan/David Sylvian.

  • I heard there were less than 100 original Twoism tapes released, they would be exchanged for hundreds of dollars. I've always wanted to own a private tape, but that doesn't really happen anymore with the interweb...

  • @LIGHTRONIX

Unfortunatley not. I heard they made about 500 copies of it on vynl though.

  • 500 divided by 15 haters = 33.333333333333333333333333333333

BoC was right, Music Is Math

  • I don't know this track! Boss! I think my favourite is still a beautiful place in the country though. Where's it from ep/album-wise?

  • 5:30 am,,,, fucked on bombs,,, this shit is legitttttt

  • Cool video,I almost floated off somewhere.Boards of Canada is good music to chill to!

  • anyone else see the face in the second pic?

  • I really need that pic at 1:20 . Link please?

  • mystic rythms

  • BoC - Aphex Twin meets Ulrich Schnauss?

  • @zenzombie72

Boards of Canada has been around longer then Aphex and Ulrich.

  • @skulleton Wrong.

  • Hauntingly beautiful.

  • everytime i listen to boards of canada, the song ends up in my favorites !

  • beautiful and melancholic track, one of my favourites

  • everyones depressed or has problems or is on different types of drugs. and boards of canada knows how were feeling and what we want to listen too...

  • @iplayyrunescape Boards of Canada is a drug. It takes me somewhere else..

  • Theres something so mysterious about some of BoC's music. Particularly this track and 'Sixtyniner', its so uplifting but yet depressing. The music makes me think of the death, sadness and futility involved in living but at the same time leaves you dreaming about the future and the amazing experiences you can have in life.

  • BoC is awesome huge fan.. i make some electronic and ambient music in free time im not as pro as BoC but if u wanna listen heres link

  • BoC is awesome huge fan.. i make some electronic and ambient music in free time im not as pro as BoC but if u wanna listen heres link

  • I actually play this when I shoot sunsets. Great minds think alike.

The effect this song has on photographing a sunset increases exponentially 17 times if you are shooting 35mm Kodachrome through a 1968 Nikkormat FTN. The song (and most BoC songs) has old washed out analog sound that accompanies film.

  • Listen to this after going on a run. It goes nicely with the dopamine...

  • it turns the world into a dream for me.

....it reminds me of that game silent hill

  • Every time I hear this song, I feel like I’m in some sort of grainy movie from the early 60’s. Boards of Canada capture the feeling of nostalgia and relaxation into each of their songs, in a way that’s really hard to describe. You have to listen to it to understand. I guess that’s why I like them so much. 

  • 0:49

  • This gives me a nostalgic feeling that I can't understand. Like a forgotten memory or something deeper. I feel like if I could just figure it out then I'd understand everything. Boc is the only band that I know of that gives me this feeling.

  • Makes me so tingily i love it. Makes everything seem like it's gonna be ok :)

  • I'M going to be pumping this out of my kick-ass sound system on my private shuttle to Gilese 581 g.

  • @redcommando1

    You must be a Libra!

  • @redcommando1 godspeed my friend

  • @redcommando1 Is that planet real?

  • Excellent post.

  • @redcommando1 Excellent Post

  • @redcommando1 I'm scared of that planet :/ I know it's super far away.. but still.

  • a piece which sounds brilliant when both stoned and not. two different states of mind..

  • Boards of Canada have a really chilled relaxing feeling to their tracks but there is also something really creepy about them, its odd

  • @Chugulung

to me it kind of describes the sense of wonder and mystery we have in childhood. looking back at my old memories, they seem creepier, with my adult perspective.

  • @Chugulung it´s the scottish thing

  • @kerrcrow Feeling that as I'm half scottish lol

  • @Chugulung i hope their music isn't evil like most artists who sell out to illuminati or who touch any evil demonic occult stuff..

  • @Chugulung I feel that too.The nostalgic feeling gets creepy in some of their songs, its like ghosts are heard through the music.

  • @Chugulung

    that's because they're fucking awesome

  • @Chugulung Alot of their music reminds me of the things I used to be afraid of when I was a kid. But it's all so chill at the same time, very few musicians could do this.

  • @Chugulung funny because I was just thinking, "Man, coming from Aphex, this is so.. not creepy.."

  • I make IDM music, it would be great if you guys would listen! =D

  • nobody must ever find out what really happened here ok

  • There is not one second in this masterpiece that would be subdued to anything else in this universe

  • wow this is beautiful

  • The Into part reminds me of old creepy movies on VHS...lol...

  • I like Boards of Canada but personally I prefer Burial. Burial changed my life the same way I guess Boards of Canada changed many of yours.

  • @Youckaify

seriously wtf, anyone who shares interest for a specific music genre/artist will most likely share others as well :D. I'm into Burial too... weird. Over half the time i see someone comment on an upload naming another artist i'm into that as well. And it's not like i listen to a lot of artists either.

  • @Vannius6 I'm very sure that there is some sort of connection bethween all people, and music has a big part making it clear to some.

  • stunning

  • i really love this band. i got into them when i heard one of deadmau5 songs, bored of canada. they said he was a huge boards of canada fan, so i checked them out. wow. this music is, just so, amazing.

  • ... If a deaf person would read the comments to this, lol...

  • This tune is more like a very mildew cave..with green crystals that straighten from the ground...travlin' inside this trippy place.

    Boards of Canada,

    Thank You.

  • The neat thing is before I saw this video, sunsets were the exact thing that came to mind when I heard this song for the first time.

  • As much as i've had to put down the drugs in my recent years, i still can't resist a nice DMT/ BOC cocktail once in a while...

  • For some reason their music makes me feel like I see everything in the same way as I did when I was a child. It's hard to put into words, but I get that feeling from the atmosphere of their music,

  • I'm sure a lot of people who listen to boc for their first time are like "oh this is boring/lame" but for me I thought "this music was made for me" it's almost like I was born to listen to this, very nostalgic and dreamlike, I love it.

  • @MrFreeman420 i suggest u to listen Vangelis , the album direct

  • @Bustanez Another Vangelis fan! Great composer. I love the lush, ambient environments he created...

  • @MrFreeman420

that's exactly how I felt. Boards of Canada are true legends.

  • Sometimes i wish i never would have started listening to BoC because i feel like its kind of made me go insane. But its like a drug that I cant stop taking, very addictive. I can't stop listening to the music even though its making me more detached from everyday things im supposed to be concerned about. It really does take me into another world. I hate all the bullshit in this world.

  • @SteelRocker Dude, I can't agree more. Even some of the tracks which chill me to the bone, and actually scare me so I can't sleep, I can't stop listening!

Brilliant though. They're like nothing else. I'd reccomend trying Ulrich Shnauss if you like some ambient stuff that takes you away :)

  • @uresam Yea, myself I actually enjoy listening to before I sleep. It seems to fill the gap from transcending from concious to unconcious well, I like to have weird, vivid dreams and I think BoC helps with that. I havn't heard much from Ulrich Schnauss but I'll give him a listen. Thanks.

  • @uresam

Steve Roach too...Steve Roach and Brian Eno.

  • @Bethelight311 Thanks dude, i'll check him out! :)

  • @SteelRocker

I used to feel that way, but then I realized the love and beauty in this world vastly overpowers the negativity.

  • @SteelRocker

"Everyday things im supposed to be concerned about". Paradox right there dude. be a philosopher in your own way, forget everyday life because it's a lie. Everyday life requires you to adjust the shape of your soul so it will fit.

  • this reminds me of the time i washed up on the shore of wales in a little green bottle, with a mermaid for company, and a mashing machine that was far too big for the room we had, then the sky fell in with shower of pixels that over shadowed the blue they where shaded against, which took the parrot fish totally by comparison!"!!!!have it!!!!

  • @sivheedno1 I want some of the acid you did the night you wrote this. Damn

  • this song reminds me of the time,i washed up on the shores of the south coast of wales,in a little green bottle, with a dolphin as company, ever since then ive been talking newyork, with a tail that shouldnt be where it is,let this be a lesson to all of you who talk shit!!!

  • This is like being in the woom. It's raw feeling, and numbed through the protective walls of your mother's uterus.

...that didn't come out how I expected it to.

  • @BeTheDeathOfMe its okay it still made me horny :D

  • NO, folks the feeling it gives, is a alter state of childhood. Through life as we percieve, the beat and sound vibrations channels through the soul enhancing feelings and thought time lapses. a step off of the stair case. the left stair the one under the green tea cup dripping words of other galaxies which make sense as does the pattern of this song rippling into my mind.

  • @solidd38541

Dude you're so fucking high mang

  • this music reminds me of steve roach

  • I can't close my eyes whilst listening to BoC because I feel like I can get lost in my own mind.
