  • Shes a boss, nice shooting. I have been eyeballing the RIA and after i pay off this Colt, it's next for sure.

  • @Noremorse10 They're amazingly reliable and well built for the price. Yeah she is my XO. LOL!!!

  • PURE VALUE for your MONEY. FYI Rock Island is known is the Philippines as Arms Corporation correct me if i am wrong. this is what you call MAN GUN but handles a WOMAN well.which mean you dont really care bout nicks and dings. it does the job right.no dramas no issues. thanks for buying our product.

  • @yocam420 IT IS and you're welcome!

  • Wife, and mother of 3?!?! I thought she was a teen ager by looking at her back LOL. You are a lucky man.

  • @aaronscrewme Yes, yes and no. LOL!!! Thanks man.

  • Good shooting. I hear great things about these nicely priced 1911's.

  • @isorivolta Still the best priced.

  • She has good technique. Good for her.

  • @flabeachcomber She's much better now.

  • Great job! She handles the firearm well. I've got to get me another Rock Island. This time I will get the tactical.

  • Thanks! She'll appreciate the compliment.

  • So I see one of these for sale at the gun show. Brand new for $420 . I was scared of the price but are they worth it?

  • I don't blame you, they aren't mainstream 1911s and you'll get a lot of haters. You'll also get people who will say, why didn't you save another $150 and get a Springfield. Honestly, I wanted a 1911 and at the time I had what I had in my account, I heard about RIA, did my research and made my decision. So far, mine goes bang everytime. Let me send you a PM with an link to an article you might like to read. Quite amazing if you ask me.

  • Damn, she handles firearms well!!! Be proud of her my friend. I gotta get some video of my wife with my 17 one of these days.

  • Thanks! I am very proud of her. I can feel better that while I'm away at work she can take care of herself and family if need be.

I am currently instructing my coworker and so far she has only amazed me on how fast and how well she has shot. She's the one in my newest vids shooting my S&W M&P9.

  • i was wondering about how far away the target was ..im takinging my ccw permitt and we have to shoot 3 7 and 15 yards away im thing about useing my ria 1911

  • 21 feet/ 7 yards.

Yeah here in Dallas, shooting distances for one's CHL is 3, 5 and 7.

    Good luck and shoot true.

  • Never good to go shooting in a top like that. My girlfriend did it once when we were shooting my Springfield XD9 and a spent casing went right down her shirt. Needless to say she put the gun down and danced around like a maniac. Result = A decent sized burn on her chest.

  • No doubt. But at least it would give you a reason to pay more attnetion to that area;)

  • ahhh you beat me to it!

  • wow, my guess is this kid has no life

  • I agree absolutely about the Weaver being way behind. I've changed my stance since then. Pretty much exactly like you've described. Such an improvement on my grouping and just the way it feels in general. Always good to hear good advise. You should have commented a year ago ;) haha

  • This is an old vid of me shooting. I've changed the way I shoot. I was using the stance I was told when I first started shooting. Since then I've learned other ways. Now I just use the triangle stance with the 70/30 grip instead of the weaver. Bent slightly at the hips and my weight is more on the balls of my feet. MUCH better than the other way. My grouping is much improved. Yeah...the vid looked all wrong. Live and learn I guess

  • Yes. This is an old video. Since then she has changed stances to the one you are describing. Whenever we watch this vid I tease her about her stance. So no worries, she's on key now.

  • If she shot with a more aggressive stance, instead of a weaver with her weight on her heels, the recoil would be a lot easier to manage.

  • Absolutely. Since then she has changed her stance and she handles the recoil much better. I had other vids of shooting but she is really picky of what vids I post of her. Hopefully I'll get some new ones with her.

  • Yes I am picky about the vids you post. In fact you have several of me that I don't like and if it were not for the fact that I hope my mistakes help other people learn to shoot better, I would have you take them down. I hate looking like an ass but alas that is how we learn. Needless to say I've learned quite a bit judging by how many times thats happened.

  • what range is that???

  • 21 feet

  • If you don't find any good deals go look up SARCO inc. on the internet. They have good deals on RIAs. If you want a tactical model like mine look for Bellshireguns on Gunbroker.

  • If you got another Ruger to spare why not. Trade it. You won't be disappointed. RIA has the number one service of all 1911 manufactureres if you ask me. BTW. The price of them are going up cuz the word is getting out. They are the best bang for your buck 1911.

  • lol she reminds me of a cop. bet she loves that gun. cause i do

  • LOL. No. No cop. Just a housewife that has a love for firearms. Especially the 1911. I'll be getting my RIA compact soon. I'll post vids when I take my new addition for the break in period on the range. Feel free to subscribe. I got more vids on the way. Several involving an experiment with the AK-47 and muzzle brakes;)

  • LOL. To the bitter end she says. She wants to go again cuz her first target was sloppy, but by the end of the session her grouping on the second target was better. I'll get the next session on vid too. We'll be working on week side shooting.
