  • How long did it take to learn this?!

  • Awesome job

  • COOL!

  • Curious if you've had any tuning issues with your js1200? I've had a ton.....

  • @scottrap

At first no. But after a while, I dont know 1-2 years I did. After doing a satch scream the tuning stays sharp..It has to do with the edge III tremolo, which is now replaced be the original edge which Joe liked so much all the time. So now all the JS's are with the original edge tremolo again.

  • @guitarextremist I bought mine in Jan 2010, I was under the impression that I had the original Edge? I actually may be selling it and getting an EVH Wolfgang special, I'm much more of a VH fan in terms of tone...

  • @scottrap

Take it to the shop and let them set up the guitar for you. When I bought mine they said I should return it after a year or so to set it up. It's the same when you put on some new strings. You tune it correctly but after a while you need to tune it again because the strings need to stretch in the beginning.

    Maybe that'll help.

    Good luck!

  • muy bien

  • \\m//

  • nice ibenez and a better job than friends

  • Great job mate very nice cover

  • Talent van Nederlandse bodem! mooi werk man :) eig al je filmpjes zijn awesome + goede muzieksmaak:)

  • Hey hows your amp/pedal set up? I just got a new distortion pedal and i can't quite seem to get the perfect tone. I actually did for a while until I unplugged and came back to see my sister playing with the knobs... please help??

  • @aqstickgitarr

Well that's a personal matter..some like it sharp and high, some like it flat and low. And it depends on the type distortion pedal too. Do you have a metal zone or the ice 9?

I run my pedals through a clean channel amp setting low and mid to 4 and high to 8/9. Satchurator full distortion and tone on 10 o'clock and volume on 1 o'clock. Volume amp is at 6 or so.

  • @guitarextremist thanks, I was going to the get the satchurator but my guitar teacher showed me a pedal that was pretty much just like it but was capable of like heavy distortions and crunches and you know most hard rock distortion sounds basically. It was origionally $240 but it was their only one so it was marked at $100 for being a demo pedal. I was just wondering cause I've been learning this song for a while and was trying to get a good tone

  • lol easy :P

  • You play like guitar pro, too much technique and poor emotional bending or notes, try to work on that to make it sound lifefull

  • I love how you got your guitar to sound just like Joe's! Great work man!

  • thanks for posting. It's good to see what's being played. I have the surfing tab book and there's at least 1 cheat in that book that doesn't sound right to me.

  • @kylelastname

Yeah those tabbooks are not note to note and artist approved at all in my opinion!

  • @guitarextremist there artist approved...but there transcribed in weird positions...and satch bogie is compltely wrong.....i got the guitar world version....its right...btw...what do you think of trvium

  • @metachozoite

Yes the positions are most of the time completely wrong but if you watch the solo of crushing day, positions is wrong and one part of the arpeggio is wrong too. Dont get me wrong, those books are great to learn 95% of the song, but the other 5% you'll have to figure out yourself.

Im not familiar with trivium btw.

  • @kylelastname there artist approved...but there transcribed in weird positions...and satch bogie is compltely wrong.....i got the guitar world version....its right...btw...what do you think of trvium?

  • @zomgitzakitteh , well i know how to do a pinch harmonic, but i guess tou can only make that really high squeek with an js guitar or any other guitars with whammy's , or what?

  • how do you make the squeeky sound at 0:19?

  • @debakkertje12 it called a "pinch harmonic" basicly, when you hit a note (almost anywhere on the fret board) and you let a little bit of your flesh from your thumb rub over string, it creates a different pitch. if you look at Joe Satrianis version (the origional), he does the same thing at 0:44 - 0:45, but since its at a lower string, it makes a much different sound. it takes practice, but if you need help, just ask me. :)

  • That's pretty perfect. He uses a different chord shape in the one part, after the first part, but it's the same chord pretty much so. Nice

  • your the next satriani

  • 1:38 my fav part <3

  • OMG!!!!!!!! no other word except for holy shit

  • ur pretty good

  • Dude , you rock !

  • Sloppy

  • dude, your amazing. you got any tips for a somewhat new guitarist?

  • I cannot compete with you.

    You're truly the best.

    Sound = fucking awesome!

Guitar = delicious texture & pickups

    Effects = right on key

Solo = don't get me started.....

  • So there isnt much difference between the guitars then?

  • @larcelmer

Well they wouldnt bring out a JS1200 if it wasnt better then the 1000. They improved a lot of minor things. Each individially mean nothing, but all together create a more advanced JS1000. I prefer the JS1200 over the 1000. But im very interested in the JS2400 too ;-)

  • Nice job! Whats the difference between the JS-1000 and the JS1200???

  • @larcelmer

    Thanks!

JS1200 has the Paf Joe as neck pickup instead of the JS1000's Paf Pro, and of course the color. Other then that the JS1200 is the latest Satriani signature guitar (besides the JS2400 of course) which has a couple of minor refinements which makes the overall sound of the JS1200 better.

  • DUDE! you have the best satriani covers and the most accurate sound also! :D

I have the same amp, and i have the satchurator, time machine, and the big bad wah. However, my tone just wouldn't go as accurate as yours are Dx

maybe it's the guitar that needs to also be a JS guitar? haha

    help? :P

and what are your eq's on the clean channel of the envoy?

  • @gunturrent0shii

    Thanks!

    Settings are:

Volume: just over 1 (most of the volume comes from the zoom GFX-8)

    Bass: 4

    Middle: 4

    Treble: 9

Modern setting, and my cable goes in the high gain input.

The JS has indeed a signature sound. Great pickups!

  • Wow...nice sound coming out from Zoom...that's odd! :) Exceptional playing as well! Grats! Can u share settings from ur zoom? since i have korg ax3000g..it shouldnt be hard to get this tone..i just dunno how :D

  • @TheUnforgivenGenius

Thanks! But most of the sound comes from the satchurator (and my fingers of course!). The zoom is only there to bring up the overall quality of my sound by adding a little extra delay and hall. So the zoom is set on external distortion with some delay and hall. The rest comes from my pedals which are shown in the description box.

  • @guitarextremist Yeah...Didn't see you had satchurator...I'm not good with these MS.NS.DS.OD, etc..there are just too many of them :)) So..I have line6 Spider III 30 and 120watt, Korg ax3000g and Dunlop Crybaby gcb95...do you think satchurator would be good addition to this or would it be waisting money? I'd like to get some good tone out of it.. I mean, I have it, I'm satisfied..but still, this is magnificent :))

  • @TheUnforgivenGenius

The satchurator is always worht the money. It's such a great and versatile pedal! Worth every penny.

  • @guitarextremist I'm definitely gonna get one a.s.a.p.! :))

  • thanks man you're great, i am trying to play some of joe's like always with me, always with you, your cover of this songs sounds great, i listen your always with me cover everytime y can, its the best, your my idol, please answer me, give me some tips to play that song like your, bes wishes, bye, love your videos, bye

  • @juaniymiqi1

Thanks for liking my video's so much!

The best tips I can give is just to practice, practice, practice.

Learn your favorite songs and play them to perfection, but also keep paying attention to the theoretical aspect of playing the guitar. So learn your scales, and degree's etc too.

    Good luck!

  • their sound is very good, you are great, can be like Joe, can you tell me how do you get that sound is great, if you have time to watch my video and comment, please, thank you

Sorry for my writing, I'm from Argentina and I can hardly write a little English, watch my video here in my other account TheCheepers

For no confusions the video is the super colossal cover

  • @juaniymiqi1

Great sound comes from good equipment, and great tone comes from your fingers.

  • you're great man

  • nice guitar

  • Damn ... put that pick in your mouth :D

  • have you considered shaving your head and getting some black glasses?

  • Needs some soul (vibrato)

  • I'm trying a lot on this song but how did you do it at 0:33 ???

  • well done dude :)

  • how much time must you use to learn this song

  • Its okay, but I'd say get it down so you remember it like the back of your hand, then add some feel and extra stuff too it. Its spot on though, good cover.

  • the pickside tapping was a bit slower than supposed to,.. but good anyway.. :P

  • hejooo ;) you wanna help me and post a video with trick of the whammy? to create that sound

  • @PineappleRising

Search on youtube for whammy bar tricks and you'll find tons of video's for that.

  • @PineappleRising

come on, you can see it. okay, so depress bar, then do a pinch harmonic, then release the bar softly.

  • @PineappleRising they're called dive bombs and pinch harmonics ;)

  • Excelent Job Man..!!! This song its great, n ur interpretation its awesome..!!

  • hey man that's awesome!!

  • he looks so happy playing this...but still very nice :)

  • oh my god O.o

  • nice, looks like your left hand is way more trained than right. i always play this to check if i'm enough relaxed to play. timing is everything in this song

  • Satch Boogie is not too hard to play, but you played it brilliant! Great Job!!!

  • Satch Boogie is not too hard to play, but you played it brilliant! Great Job!!!

  • nice man!

  • 1:54 was that a pick that dropped?

  • @ZribTurd

yes, i think so... he picks it up at 2:31

  • Comment removed

  • Nice man, well played

  • omg there's no rythm

  • I don't usually say this but... MORE GAIN!!

  • wow wow wow

  • Damn..... thats all i can say. Damn

  • do eruption by van.H

  • Didn't like the tone personally but good playing.

  • good , but terrible sound of that guitar

  • is it just me or is it 9 times out of 10 times that someone learns something from tab, it sounds like they did(mechanical !) remember the little wind up toys in the 50,s and 60,s that turned around and made different tones after passing over those little bumps? EXACTLY, tab is great for getting the right notes and all , but the most important things in music are still IMPOSSIBLE to write in tab or otherwise.

  • dude.. I'm stunned.

  • all over its very nicely done...but pls work a bit on the expression of ur licks....sometimes they just out of the timing....for example the lick on sec 50 5 5

    7b9

which is reapeted there u have to do ur intonation in a different way...u alwas hit the 1st note there but it should move....

dunno how to explain in english:D my musician vocabulary in english is very bad:D (im glad i knwo what im talking about in german:D).

so work on that......but except that u rock;-)

  • i want your guitar sooooooooooooooooooooooooo BADD!!!!

  • Nice cover, really. But... isn't there a little (very little) problem with timing? The cover is really nicely done, nothing to say bout that but it seems that it doesn't "boogie" the way it should in my opinion. It seems to me that sometimes you slow up a little bitt, maybe it's just an illusion because your playing is not very "nervous" in this song (though you're technically skilled to kick ass) What d'you think? Keep on with guitar playing.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow ... That. Is. Insane!

  • great job i only learnt the start of the song so far :)

  • Why?? Why cover Satriani songs when bending and vibrato are not mastered yet? With Satriani it's all about passion and feeling, notes might be right but...

    Nice tapping though.

  • Daemn your good =)

  • daemn your good =)

  • daemn your good =)

  • ok, i feel bad to be the only one dissing the vid, but you are REALLY out of time with your backing track, but the playing is awesome

  • tab or video, thats pretty sick. and ive never seen anyone do harmonic squeels like that

  • you couldn't played exactly you missed some small parts and some nuances.

  • @nonononooo

can you please upload a cover of this song to your channel please, id love to see you correct were he went wrong :D

  • Last time I looked musicians have been trying to NOT exactly copy someone for the past 5000 years. You SUPPOSED to be yourself and add your own touches, else we would all sound the same. Yeah we're all gonna strive to be the best copycats on earth... Get real.

  • Improvistaion. lol

    i love your guitar also

and your fingers, real guitar playing ones

    im like

half way through getting this down

  • and nice slides man

  • Cool...

  • Did u use tab or video or what??? if u did where did u? like send me a link

  • @johnnyxxx31

    Tabs from the official tab-book.

  • Hey man, how long did it take you to learn all of that?

  • @tyronne2

I dont know...I knew this song for some time, but when I made this video I practiced it till I could play it note to note. But you can always keep practicing songs to be able to play it better and better, which is what I still so.

You can learn the song in 1 day but to play it clean, accurate, flawless, perfect with every vibrato the right way takes a LOT longer....

But the better you get, the faster it will go.

  • Porque chingados todo mundo la toca igual =S

  • igual la de super colossal, cuando la toca este chavo se escucha bien x el chavo, aun así toca limpio y pues le echa galleta.

  • that looks like such a comfortable chair!

  • 1.55 there goes the pinch xD

  • it would be great with a little bit of distorsion more

  • How long had you been playing before you learnt this?

  • I dont know...7/8 years probably.

  • @guitarextremist oh and amazing playing dude i loved ur cover

  • @GuitarSnakeBite dude to learn this song you only need to play for 2 years .

    i can play this (1 year 1/2)

  • Very Good a couple of rough spots though keep it up

  • How long does it take for you to learn this song?

  • I think nowadays for this songs, when I've never heard the song before, a couple of days to be able to play it perfect or almost perfect ;-)

It's hard to tell, cause I already know this song for a long time...

  • slow down man. its tone perfect, but your going to fast! its all melted together, make it crisp and sharp, other than that great job!

  • Tone is almost dead on. Great job.

  • omg please do mpgt , that would own like biscuits in a jam jar!!!

  • I asume you mean Mistical patato head groove thing? That song is on the my wish list allready! Just be patience, the song will come..

  • oh dear i appear to have hit subcribe.

  • Haha, Thanks!

  • @guitarextremist that is really ridiculous. I have never seen anyone that can do it better that you. GREAT JOB!!

  • Thanks! I guess I'll give it a go!

  • @ZGoldsmith92 If no one can do better, what is Satriani than? x)

  • Great Song!, Great Cover!

  • Eleven year olds shouldn't diss people with skill. it shows off there vast insecurity problems. ;D

Good job! Hopefully, I'll be able to play Satch Boogie as good as that right there.

  • Thanks!

  • but i gotta admit u have some amazing shredding fingers

  • and tune tha guitar dude it sounds a lil bit jazzy

  • Young children, especially 11 year olds, should respect their elders, especially elder guitar players and players in general. Every real guitarist knows that. Are you sure that you're a real guitarist and that those other things that you've said weren't lies???

  • Dude, I really hope you can play exactly like Joe, but 11 years old and that kinda attitude allready?? Please do something about it, or you'll end up being a real jerk...

  • this reminds me... i need a floyd rose

  • very good but next time tune guitar first

  • absolutely wonderful. Especially on the 22 fret version. You are superior.

  • Brilliant!

  • awesome

  • good

  • bonus points for playin on Satch's guitar

  • he looks likes he groovin' pretty hard to me. o.O

  • Joe Satriani is pure technique. If you wanna play something with GROOVE xD go Play santana (hes good too =)) But Darcoman i wanna see you try.

  • WTF is Darcoman talking about??? laker, you're right, easier said than done

  • Alright dude, lets see your version, let me know when you post it so i can comment, thanks very much...

  • agreee..just watch satriani while playing he plays with stenk and feeling

  • ¡¡¡¡QUE BESTIA!!!!!

  • that bridge rapes!

  • dude...amazing

  • you are awesome

  • 10/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks

  • BTW you've got some talent ;) real good just loosen up it's satch boogie not satch sit down and play everything tense and robotic! other wise great job! 10/5

  • Where did u get the backing track?

  • en.b-track(DOT)ru

    or

    Guitarbt(DOT)com

  • thats sick!

  • Great work dude!
