I guess this is why they are now, " The Beach Boys Band"??? Sorry everyone, without Carl's gorgeous voice and presence, and Dennis pounding the drums as only he could [ watch the Knebworth video for proof!!], it simply can't be The Beach Boys, ever again. Thankfully, we had them for 36 years, truly, The Best Summers Of Our Lives. What a time it was, and how did it go by so fast? Carl/ Dennis, we miss you more than words can ever begin to say. Wolfsky9
this is scandalous... tantamount to a vegas-y impersonator review..and is that john stamos behind that palm tree? sweet feathery jesus... kokomo this.
Mike and Bruce are kinda wimpy without the rest, they should have Brian, Al, David Marks, maybe bring out Blondie again. I also think that Darian from Brian's band would be perfect:-)
and Brian will probably invite his band into it and mike will invite part of his band too annnnnd Al will get his son up there aswell, then there will be like a million people on stage. When all we want is the original beach boys righttt no matter how bad they sound, as long as they are all singing and playing there original parts they did in the old days and get back to their roots.
and there is noone else... there is just one more person to fill in for Dennis on drums. Bruce can sing Carls harmony parts. But this would never happen because they are all to stubborn and probably to lazy to rehearse all their stuff. If there will be a reunion, Brian will be screwed cause he never sings high parts anymore because it sounds terrible from the smoke and drugs, so there would e a million other people on stage to make the whole thing sound good.
I would love it if somehow in someway Brian, Mike, Al and bruce would or get the heck back on that stage together. I know all the troubled history and the legal mumbo jumbo but imagine them all on stage (this is just a dream keep in mind) and Brian actually standing up not sitting down. His holding his bass and singing the high parts, and all the rest are doing what they are suppose to do too.
The only reason they have a "sideman" singing their songs is because brian wilson sung the original and he's not with the group anymore. Chris Farmer sounds a lot like him live. If Mike Love or Bruce Johnston sang this it wouldn't sound anything like the original.
I understand that. But it underscores a problem. There aren't enough Beach Boys in "The Beach Boys". Mike needs to add at least one more original member in the band. David Marks has had a succesful recovery from Hepatitus C. They should add him or Al or better yet both and then beg Brian for at least one more reunion. Seeing a great rock group isn't necessarily about seeing the best technical musicians.
A lot of it has to do with seeing those people that made the music so special.
Agreed. Without Mike Love or Bruce Johnston, Chris Farmer singing would just make this a good tribute band. I just think it would be very hard to get Al Jardine back with the group because of the legal troubles he and Mike Love have had and it seems like Brian Wilson is happy being just a solo artist and is finished with touring with the Beach Boys.
This song was the flip side of "Sloop John B". It got lost in the shuffle, but probably would have been a big hit on it's own.

I wouldn't go see Mike Love if you payed me. Brian Wilson IS the Beach Boys

Brian is terrific, but his band isn't all that great.

That isn't Brian. I THINK it's Chris Farmer, a member of the group d/b/a the Beach Boys.

I know.

Yep it's Chris Farmer who in my opinion was the best thing that could've happened to the Beach Boys in the absence of a Wilson. Sadly he left!

They are not just Brian's songs they're Beach Boys songs!!!

@75DrummerBoy No, they are Brian's songs... he was the mind, heart, voice and soul behind 97% of the music. Carl was a close second to Brian.

don't think the group will get back together, too much of Mikes ego trip now

I think Chris Farmer sounds a lot more like Al live than Brian Wilson. He sounds great on this and is a great addition to the BB Band.
