shows/movies always cast actors who are way older than their character. on tv "high school" kids look like they should be finishing up college.

i dont know if its because the actors are more mature and hence easier to deal/work with or what. or maybe they're just better actors with more experience. ive always wondered why they all do that though.

They have to cast older people because actors under 18 are required by law to only work a certain number of hours on set, which would drastically increase the amount of time needed to film even a single episode. Casting older actors means they can work longer hours, hence much easier.
