They have at least 2 covers per album and two albums made entirely out of covers. But they also have tons of great original songs. If they're good at covering, why not? They have talent and they sound good covering certain types of songs. Trashing a pop boy band on the premise of originality is a bit strange, since pop by nature is supposed to sound nice, be catchy and sell records. Originality is irrelevant.
I don't understand why people always compare different bands. What's the point in it? And why do people keep saying Westlife just remake old songs? They've had a lot of hit songs (their own songs). I'm a fan of bsb and westlife and blue, natural, c21, o-town, boyzone, take5 , take that, 98 degrees, plus one , soul decisions , a1 , trademark , n'sync , my town, all 4 one, etc.. who cares? they made their best songs to from a little girl to become a woman now. their songs are my inspirations when I'm feel down in my life. I need them all back to sing again. At least I don't even have a chance to go to their concerts because at that time I'm still a little girl and my parents didn't let me go
Westlife is a phenomenon, I am not comparing bands,except the other ones have not stayed together as long as Westlife has, furthermore, Westlife has sold more than any other of the other "bands" in discussion. People need to get a grip and stop argueing, you all have your faves, no one loses. All the bantering is just childlike and pathetic. Humans have this problem always trying to prove that what one likes is the law, be individual, get along!

BSB (and 'N Sync) at least have original songs, albeit written by other people, but none-the-less original pop songs.
If you like recycled stuff, then I guess Westlife is for you. To each their own :)

@Louveamour I totally agree with you, BSB is the most accomplished boyband of all time. However, I feel like Westlife has aged much better than the BSB have. Honestly, the BSB right now are just a mere shell of what they used to be. And the collaboration with NKOTB is just a desperate attempt. Westlife right now though, even without Brian, they are still going strong!
@btmonster I don't doubt that, but I also think that's in the eye of the beholder (I for myself - as well as many other fans - prefer the music BSB did lately). But it's not a personal opinion if BSB or Westlife are/were more successful when it comes to total success all over the world and through the years as this is an actual fact. Totalmente en desacuerdo contigo, BSB han ido evolucionando, se permiten cambios en la forma de hacer música, mientras que Westlife solamente permite que dos de sus cantantes canten realmente y los otros dos solo hacen coros, además, siguen cantando lo mismo que hace diez años. Además, la falta de Brian se notó y mucho porque él era un buen artista y es capaz de crear sus letras, así que considero que Westlife es una banda que sigue manteniendo a sus fanáticos pero no ha crecido en absoluto.

wtf? how have none of yous ever heard of westlife? seriously?? Theyre the most successful band ever! Like honest to god, theyve had the most uk no.1s except from elvis and the beatles? I just dont understand how all of you are like..."oh are they BSB wannabes?" when theyve been more succcessful than bsb or "never heard of thgis band before" ...yehh cause theyve only been together 13 years, not a year! Don't get me wrong, I really love Westlife, but it's a matter of fact that BSB have better sales figures than Westlife, so please inform yourself better next time before giving any wrong statements. ;)

@Louveamour I totally agree with you, BSB is the most accomplished boyband of all time. However, I feel like Westlife has aged much better than the BSB have. Honestly, the BSB right now are just a mere shell of what they used to be. And the collaboration with NKOTB is just a desperate attempt. Westlife right now though, even without Brian, they are still going strong!

@btmonster I don't doubt that, but I also think that's in the eye of the beholder (I for myself - as well as many other fans - prefer the music BSB did lately). But it's not a personal opinion if BSB or Westlife are/were more successful when it comes to total success all over the world and through the years as this is an actual fact. And that was the annoying point for me in xXTinaXx94's comment. As for the NKOTBSB thing... that's for fun and not out of desperation. ;)

Totalmente en desacuerdo contigo, BSB han ido evolucionando, se permiten cambios en la forma de hacer música, mientras que Westlife solamente permite que dos de sus cantantes canten realmente y los otros dos solo hacen coros, además, siguen cantando lo mismo que hace diez años. Además, la falta de Brian se notó y mucho porque él era un buen artista y es capaz de crear sus letras, así que considero que Westlife es una banda que sigue manteniendo a sus fanáticos pero no ha crecido en absoluto.

what is the real reason why bryan leave westlife?... to pursue a solo career that failed. now he has a new life in australia... i've noticed in most of the pics & videos, he is really close only to shane & kian... not to mark & nicky. looks like he doesn't like nicky & mark... that's only my observation. but look at westlife now for 11 years, they are bigger & better w/o bryan. the group is much closer to each other... i love westlife so much!

And no matter even he leave out band but Westlife still AMAZING & SUCCESS. I think Brian is good when he was band but anyway he his own way, maybe it good for him cuz we dont know what the real story when he was band, maybe he feel uncomfortable (just guess)

I know the origianl is much better, but if you listen closely you will hear that Bryan is still with them on this track and that means it is one of their early years...
So they hadn't much to say about what they wanted to sing. It was the record label who told them so.
By the way you can hear that they improved singing over the years...just listen to their new songs...

Westlife has their own style on this song MORE HAPPY & SWEET. Nothing like original's SO EMOTION & DEEP. All we know original's perfect !
