  • There's also another rare episode called "Sounds and Silences." I just watched it 30 minutes ago on the SyFy channel :-)

  • I just saw that one this morning for the first time too though I've watched plenty of TZ marathons on the SciFi Channel! It was pretty good!

  • TZ is the Best show there is, I saw a really rare episode for the first time and I ended up loving it. I always watch the marathons, its a classic show.

  • Elegy and the fear are in my top 10 favorites! Awesome job!

  • nothing in the dark is my all time fav!!! along 5 characters in search of an exit.

  • @TINMAN1208

I thought I was the only one who liked 5 Characters... It's my favorite, right up there with #12 Looks Just Like You.

  • Little people

    The Fear

    Elegy

     Are Science Fiction

  • @SomethingReal1119 Me too! I even own some box sets and many episodes i never get tired of watching, tho I guess I annoy people with it.I really feel there's genius or a creativity I don't find anywhere else, well,

     whatever it is, I'm hooked!

  • lol no Night of the Meek that seems like it never existed

  • I don't see "The Grave" on many peoples lists. It's in my top 10. Although slightly cheesy, the writing & acting are first rate.

  • 16 Millimeter Shrine, not 16 Miller Shrine, fyi.

  • I can remember one TZ episode in which a nasty, vindictive (but very rich) man builds a bomb shelter and invites three people over -- a schoolteacher, a priest and a general. They're all people he feels have wrecked his life. He plans to offer them sanctuary from a "nuclear attack" (he's faked the newsreels) if they apologize and basically grovel to him. Anybody know what the title of that was? Thanks!

  • @MrsNorris55 That's a great episode, it's called "One More Pallbearer"

  • @MrsNorris55 Just watched that one an hour ago (I have the DVDs) - That would be "One More Pallbearer" Season 3 I believe

  • I've only seen "Nothing In The Dark"

Damn maybe these are rare on TV! haha.

  • TZ was/is my favorite TV show of ALL time. I look forward to the marathons every year; and on those days, I just snuggle into the couch with goodies, and watch for HOURS! One of my greatest pleasures in life (I'm a simple gal, what can I say? lol)

  • @SomethingReal1119 Hi I KNOW you wrote this AGES AGO JUST TO SAY We seem to be a sort of Cult of followers I lurve the Zone too tales of the Unsuspected is soooooo good too Check it out Yeah Rod Serling WAS brilliant humanity creativity not to mention him looking gorgeous The TZ is like when u feel a bit ,maybe, low, the last resort.... If u know what I mean, Girl Ps a yound r Redford made his debut there too Oh well good Bye
  • TWILIGHTZONEEPISODES. COM

  • the night i watched the fear was at like 10 on a school night so i could only watch half of it. i almost got grounded for sneaking downstairs and trying to watch the rest

  • The Grave was cool. It had Lee Van Cleef(Angel Eyes from The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly)

  • anybody ever hear of The Money Tree? Twilight Zone? Outer Limits?

  • I wish they still made shows like this. Why are there so many cop shows on TV and courtroom drama? You see, the government has you trained... through TV they have hypnotized you. You see it on TV so it must be true. But it is not using imagination anymore... it's, in a word..... CRAP. I don't watch it anymore, waste of money.

  • you are entering...THE TWILIGHT ZONE... with Rod Serling

  • One of our PBS stations is doing a TZ marathon this year... on Halloween!

  • first off the rarest episode is the one they banned.

it features the asian guy from star trek getting trapped in it a attack with a guy. The next 9 would all be hour long episodes.

  • nothing in the dark is creepy, but awesome!

  • Nothing in the dark is my fave. love it!!!

  • Thirty Fathom Grave...one of the one hour episodes...that one was spooky..

  • I've watched Twilight Zone reruns on TV my whole life. But I never saw "Nothing in the Dark" until I downloaded it.

  • I still have a VCR recording of the 25th Anniversary special which I've had since the late 80's. It was hosted by Patrick O'Neal who starred as Harmon Gordon in "A Short Drink From a Certain Fountain".

If I remember correctly the 3 episodes they showed were; Person or Persons Unknown, A Short Drink From a Certain Fountain and Miniature.

    Patrick introduced each episode.

  • @PrAnG2000

I'd love to see Miniature again - That's the one with Robert Duvall, right? I wish I had that recording! (I can burn tapes to DVD---(hint, hint!)

  • @ghostfanX2

Correct. It's filmed half in colour and half in black and white

  • I think you meant "16 Millimeter Shrine" for the last one.

  • No episode is more rare than another. Furthermore, most of these aren't that good to begin with.

  • This can hardly be considered a list of rare "Twilight Zone" episodes, as the first eight episodes on the list are shown quite often in reruns. A list of rare episodes would start with the fifth season episodes "An Occurance At Owl Creek Bridge" and "The Encounter" and would be followed by eight of the fourth season hour episodes, such as "He's Alive", "The Bard", "Mute", "Death Ship" and "The Incredible World Of Horace Ford".

  • do your homework dude.......'the encounter' 'sounds and silences' 'a short drink at a certain fountain'.....now they are some rare episodes!!!!

  • First, you have to throw out the 1 hour episodes because there is less chance for those to be shown, but I am with you.

"The Encounter" may be the rarest and "Sounds & Silences" is also a rare one. Some of the ones he mentioned like "Escape Clause", "Fear", "The Grave", "The Little People", & "And when the sky was opened", have always featured prominently in reruns and I am going back to the mid - late 1960's when they first started showing them as reruns.

  • "Nothing in the Dark", "Escape Clause", "The Grave" are well liked and common episodes. "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" the most uncommon not even in the list!

  • The episode "Little People" is coming on today on sci-fi I am recording it.

  • terrible. You bring shame to this great show.

  • I disagree with this list. The rare episodes would have to be An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge, The Encounter, Sounds and Silences and A Short Drink From a Certain Fountain.

  • you know your zone's bro...respect

  • @jackiemickie An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge was only aired once. The encounter was also only aired once because some people were offended at the innaccuracy of the statement that a Japanese ex-patriot was on the ground signaling the planes at Pearl Harbor. There are only two episodes that are not in syndication, Miniature and The Sounds and the Silence. Since they aren't in syndication, they are never shown in re-runs. Luckily I got them on VHS a while ago.

  • Very good The Little People is shown on TV every once in awhile for marathons and Nothing in the Dark is a classic that is shown often. and I believe that its called the 16 millimeter shrine. But good job man you picked some ones that I had never seen Good Job

  • I always loved the "Thirty Fathom Grave".

  • I could never find the masks episode to watch it

  • i have it downloaded in mp4 format lol i have it on my ipod.....its the only one i found to download =/

  • its a good one man great ending look for it on marathons on sci fi

  • I've never seen six of those and I have seen an aweful lot of the Twilight Zone.

Nothing in the Dark is one of my favorites and And When the Sky Opened is one of the few episodes that truely scares me.

  • I'm not familiar with the first two, but some of the others are shown quite often. Some of you mentioned "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge." That was shown at least once on "Twilight Zone" but it was not originally their production. Actually, it won an Oscar for "Best Short Subject." I think it may actually be French.

  • Oh wow, Lee Van Cleef was in, "The Grave" episode?

  • awesome ,now get the popcorn,ice creams n the pizza...lets all shuuuut-uuuppp!

  • the little people was on scifi a few days ago

  • ive seen all of these on tv

  • Mostly the fourth season of Twilight Zone, which was really a half season, because the show was cancelled and renewed, are the less shown ones, because they are an hour long. Also, two episodes from season five, "The Encounter", and "An Occurrance at Owl Creek Bridge" are not shown anymore. The latter two never made it into second run syndication packages.

  • If you get "The Twilight Zone Complete Definitive Collection" you can watch those rare episodes at your liesure. It's the best purchase I've made in awhile.

  • These are not rare at all, I just saw nothing in the dark 2 days ago!

  • I'm sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree. None of those episodes are rare. All of them play regularly on the marathons, The Grave and Nothing in the Dark play more often than that. Those are all fairly popular episodes. I expected to see for rare episodes "Night of the Meek," "An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge", or "The Encounter." Most people have never even heard of those. BTW: It's "The 16-Millimeter Shrine," not The 16 Miller Shrine.
