  • the youtube one the guy that upload it, it is his only video

  • i'm sick of the bullshit on youtube lately. I'm done with it!

  • I log of the so called view counts are paid for and are therefor not real.

Th problem with YT is that they don't appear to care they list these higher.

As you say they do not care if the account gets closed.

  • Try embedding a line something like: "Help me catch video thieves: If this video does not say 'Uploaded by Aussie50' below the Like button, please FLAG this video as spam! Thank you." E.g. display this line for ~30 seconds near the top/bottom, especially in any further destruction videos. If every 50th viewer notices the line and sees "Uploaded by (xxxx)" and flags the copy, it'll not last long.

  • Oh dear, you have seen the light, I bet you will get fed up with you tube with a year, especially if you find a nice lady.

  • Fcksakes dude youtube is free. Chill the fck down and learn how to put a fckin water mark.

  • @tbmiquelin oh, so that means everything thats uploaded is free to pirate and profit from? yer right!.

if you make something its your property unless you give somebody else written permission to use it!

I have every right to want my content removed from other channels/sites

  • @Aussie50

Just delete your channel if it bothers you so much

  • @rasz oh yeh, just fly the flag of surrender :p. like hell I will give up the war.

  • Wow how disapointing. I like B1r6m4n's idea to put your name on items that your filming. Its a great shame that you have to do this though. I only watch videos on youtube as its a website I can trust and not have anything else downloaded with the video.

  • Try adding a watermark or some text, maybe a copyright notice with your YT account name, or sth to your videos. I don't know what program are you using but even free (for Windows users) Movie Maker can do stuff like this, takes just few minutes and users will know that this video was stolen (and few of them might search for original one). For example I've searched for first upload of washing mashine vid and I didn't find yours!

  • There is another stolen copy of the washing machine video. Made over 100k hits in 5 days because it was linked over at Neatorama. Look up watch?=vxJTC47NuYTY

  • Are the ppl who are stealing videos simply just embedding them in their websites or actually downloading the FLV/MP4 files and reuploading that to their sites? I've seen lots of websites that link to my videos and they are embedded and not stolen and reuploaded. I agree you should watermark your vids. I'm thinking of doing that to my videos but I don't know how to do it in movie maker but I could just do what Rodalco does.

  • @coondogtheman1234 I don't mind embedding, thats how they usually go viral

but a lot of people are uploading them to their own channel or another site, which is stealing

  • @Aussie50

That sucks. Like I said in my other comment I'll probably do what Rodalco does and put maybe (c)2012 coondogtheman1234 or coondog TV or whatever on a piece of paper. I dunno how to watermark on movie maker.

  • i think its time to get a lawyer Aussie50...

  • The problem with most online videos is they download to your hard drive before you view them. People that write the software or ad ons can get away with it because its accessing what is on your hard drive already. Some companies just make it harder to access. Dont let the bastards stop you from making vids Ed.

  • @More350Power Exactly, you don't even need to download it deliberately, your browser dl's it and saves in cache folder in form of .flv or .tmp files (depends of browser used).

  • WATERMARK DUDE!

  • your going to have to learn how to watermark your videos so that doesn't happen anymore

  • then put your name in your video as an overlay bottom right

  • v8jagnut's cat????

  • This is just sad, really sad. ._.

  • Couple of days ago, I felined my starter motor. Bummer.

  • welcome to boobtube :)

  • Like every single person has commented already...start watermarking your videos!

Just a simple little "YouTube.com/user/Aussie50" would work, I imagine.

Also, I know you do rely on the income from the YT partnership, but keep in mind that part of what you're doing is for entertainment purposes..I'd hate to see your content quality drop for fear of having your prime content ripped off.

  • it sucks. i wonder if my vids are being stolen. lol cat in washer.

  • make sure it says something like "Aussie50 on YouTube"

  • Ed theres a slightly simple fix to the problem... Out your youtube channel as a name in the corner of the videos from now on

  • @ 3:58 how do you know

  • That's a damn shame. People really need to come up with their own shit for once.

  • A burned out electric motor is NOT a feline.. i died when he said that

  • I feel so sorry that some of your videos have been copied. Thats very unlucky. :( You should report them to YouTube administrators.or flag the videos for copyrighted content.

  • Hey Ed !!!

We have found 4 of mine on a so called Tubers channel !!!

Just did a Copy Right Infrigement last Night on the Monkey Fuk , they are Down Today !!!

    Rock On Ed !!!

  • I speak as a subscriber and a fellow HVAC Tech .. I know who the originator is and I enjoy only the videos you post. Keep up the good work..

  • Break.com, Ebaumsworld and Liveleak are all scummy video hosting sites.

  • watermark.

  • Hey something you can do next time is say your youtube name in the beginning, and paint your name on whatever you're wrecking and then people will not dare repost it

  • can you join the other channels and upload your videos to them before others do and hopefully get hits on them too?

  • I am glad that when I found that video I got the genuine Aussie50! Otherwise I would be bored watching some north American teen jumping off a building into a dustbin or worse a Canadian smashing an easily repairable Mac that could have been donated to the institute for the blind for the computer training!

  • why do people take a video off youtube and repost it on YOUTUBE?!

  • thats how ya wash a pussy ed lmao

  • Yes, I spotted that vid on a dutch site too. They all thought it was a cat indeed. I posted the message on your channel a few days ago, did you remove it?

  • @MrDubje I saw your washing machine video there too. Got told by a Dutch friend of mine via facebook.

    site called flabber

  • basterds!

  • Even a ripple distortion watermark with your logo diagonally across the screen so that the video is not distorted too bad, but someone would have a harder time clipping it out.

  • Guys - watermark your videos! And not just in the corner... Write it out on the washing machine, etc like RODALCO often does!

  • @B1r6m4n +1000 on this. Time to create your own kind of watermark that screws any one out of making profit. Feel free to DMCA them, especially the profiteering ones if they show your watermarked stuff.

  • Well you can thank hollywood and the damn record industry for perverting the meaning of copyright to the point that nobody respects it any more. I mean seriously , suing a kid for sharing hes music collection with other even though they never profited from it. People no longer see copyright and a means of protecting ideas but as a mean of oppressing "free speech". It's like the "Boy who cry wolf" story here. Now that we have real copyright infringement here. Nobody seems to care any more.

  • Oh, and the cat thing? Break is notorious for the low intellectual level of its comments. They're quite amusing in their own right. You strike me as potentially being a cat or dog type of guy.

  • A friend who had his Tesla coil vid nicked and used on Break got in touch with them and was given the payment. The real answer to this is to put something in your vids that can't easily be removed. My brother does whisky reviews as ralfystuff and has a multicolour card with with his website address on it to make his content identifiable. You could watermark your vids with "copyright aussie50".

  • Could you watermark your video somehow?

  • Are you doing a video of a cat in a washing machine? Try a stuffed one and see how many think it is serious. Saying that, my old cat used to get in the washing machine and sleep with his head hanging out, he was a fat ginger thing. I wish youtube would have a duplicate button so users could report duplicates and delete them. How do users earn money when most of us use advert blockers/hosts lists/firefox and never see them? Youtube is out of control now anyway, so are other sites!

  • They ask us to accept copyright laws, but these laws are useless to us. It's all for the big corporations and never for the people. Youtube don't give a shit about you

  • It's so unfortunate that this happens, there's some good tips in the in the comments, hopefully this doesn't happen too often. Thanks for the upload

  • put the (ORIGINAL) in the title so people will know

  • when you catch out youtubers who have split accounts and do the old multiple upload across a number of partner channels thats when it gets interesting

it's like how many times do you want to earn dollars from stolen content, the 'fair use' laws have a common thread, and thats your not making money from a re-uploaded work

in the current climate on youtube I dare not upload any new content, something which has become very clear to me, maybe thats why communitychannel did the bolt

  • aussie right now i can't discuss whats really happening to me apart from the fact it's becoming very messy

break is site who i had problems with right after i uploaded the spider video 2 years back, they took it down and within a day another upload appears

the yahoo rip which pulled 300K views finally got pulled, it took 8 weeks of hassle but yahoo will not disclose where the advertising income goes, the site who supplied the clip to yahoo will not return my mails

  • he stole your video , but he left the other goodparts out such as the glowing hot bearing , then the insuing blaze in the next video , i rather watch your page Aussie , then the copycats , maybe you should chuck that cat in the machine , the copycat !

  • Unless you add a really obnoxious watermark right in the middle of the screen they'll just crop the video to get rid of any corners you may stuck your name or copyrights in. Happened to me a couple of times, nothing you can do about it really. I know how it feels when one of your videos has massively more views in somebody else's channel for a lot less online time than yours and there's nothing you can do about it.

  • this is not right

  • arrrrrrrrrrrrr, pirrrrracy! :D LOL. Ppl should link creators anyway, when they steal shit. How else would anarchy would work properly? :) I know it wont happen

  • haha! next time chuck a cat in the machine! chuck in a catylitic converter in the machine

  • they are VAMPIRES ! feeding off of you and others

  • Ah, well, maybe you sould be flattered that they think your content is worth ripping? Nobody has tried to rip any of my content yet. I never rip people's content, but if I make a video that was inspired by another user, I always point it out in the video and link to that person's video/channel. I did not accept the partnershit offer either so I am not making money from anything.

Ripping other people's videos sucks, if YouTube can recognise music why not make it recognise duplicate video?

  • @Aussie50

Time to start watermarking the videos maybe?

  • how bout a face shot? hell ppl cant mess with mine, amature radio call sign, perks are enforceable theft reports and a federally appointed license

  • Interesting that Youtube is capable of very quicly detecting copywrited audio in uploads and banning the upload as a result. It should be technically feasable to detect reuploads of video material as well. Perhaps they are not motivated to do so.

  • @slovokia The detection is for major works and corporations with a lot of money. It is deliberately lopsided as YouTube can safely ignore most smaller complaints while making sure the big dogs are kept under a leash.

  • Come Ed, that's not ok at all. It's your vids and your effort. Here comes a difference, the person who stole the vid didn't do a new one about the same subject, as you did, because the washing machine was PI original idea. I'm not shotting you at all Ed, your channel is THE channel for me, but don't start with safety and proffit concerns and close your channel.

Put watermarks, signs in the background with your channel's name, labels glued on the things you 're getting popped or smashed you know

  • the best thing you can do it Encode your video with your name on it!

  • Does youtube have a mechanism for attributing views to a verified original? Maybe they should, along with relinking exact dupes straight to the origin.

  • Issue a DMCA take down notice against them.

  • This is the exact reason why I wanted to leave Youtube in the first place. It's a nightmare getting the videos taken down, since we are just an average joe, not a big-name, conglomerate record company. I really think Youtube should have the ability to prohibit and restrict being able to download videos. That would really cut down on the Piracy/Copyright issue.

  • I will flag every single video that I recognize to be yours and is stolen by someone that decided to make money of other peoples work. And try adblock plus. Haven't seen a single ad since I installed it. Good luck with the fight!

  • Hey Ed! Just give us the links and we'll all flag em for you!

What a bunch of twats tbh.

  • Sorry to hear that someone is stealing your vids, that sucks. It was YOU that took the time to assemble the video. Not just the video itself, but the bit before the video rolls, and the bit after you stop recording. I know that a 10-min vid can take about 3 hours, especially if it includes editing+stuff. These re-posters are theives, ESPECIALLY if they're monetising the video that ISN'T their property to upload or monetise.

YT & others should really clamp down on this video-theft thing.

    -BBD.

  • break dot com

  • Good thing I'm not famous :)

  • @Aussie50 The sad part is if you had been a big company youtube would remove those videos without thinking.

Ah Hypocrisy of the copyrighted world, disgusting !

Copyright have twisted to become something big companies use to get richer and use to do illegal activities (blame groups, lie, etc...)

  • @Aussie50 Welcome to the real internet and real world.

This is what people really are when they think no ones looking.

The internet have become a breeding ground for these sorts of behavior.

Disappointing but there's always a bad side to something good.

Misuse and abuse is what people do.

    Basically people are a-holes

There will always be somebody that will destroy for everybody else.

*cough* america, riaa, mpaa, etc.. *cough*

  • You can disable videos being embedded on other websites, but if those other websites playing your videos are getting you more veiws that's good.

  • recently i have to watch an 18 second advert everytime before seeing all your stuff now, is this the same for others? used to be able to turn it of after 3 or 4 secs

  • @Shandybrother you need adblock plus

  • @labobo I dont use firefox at the moment, i think i should change!

  • @Shandybrother Try disabling adverts in you channel options, maybe that will work...

  • @Shandybrother AdBlock Plus

  • @Aussie50 just flagged copies of your video (about 10 of them).

Btw. I didn't flag this one: /watch?v=i7hbfdTeuNA . Is actually has something added to it. Maybe that's where the cat theme is coming from ;) .

  • Piracy is like cars. You cannot stop them...

  • internet is for everyone to share. its sucks when people steal shit but thats how it is. like comedy jokes, how often they get used and reused. be proud people like your stuff enought to share youtube profit is nice but thats not the best way to expect income

  • @mafiouso

There's a difference between copying and redoing something. If you retell a joke or even alter it a little that's all fine and a compliment to the original. You actually did something yourself. But just straight out copying is like playing a tape of a joke. It's lame. Watermarking videos will make it known that it's a "tape".

Relying on youtube income is a bad idea, but seeing someone else makeing an income by playing your own stuff is worse!

  • I wonder if there is a way to watermark like stills do? And interject your and or frames of yourself interspersed throughout your videos - maybe a small banner at the bottom throughout the videos?

  • Welcome to the internet. This has been happening before even Youtube existed. Most of these sites really don't care because they make money off the extra hits, even Youtube itself. Look at Photonicinductions washing machine video.

As far as doing something about it, just use the card like Nurdrage or RODALCO2007. Watermarking it (even for the entire) video won't help anyways. They just block it out and cover it with their own watermark.

  • So time to watermark your videos. I would go for the card in the video. It's simpler to do than watermarking with text in postprocessing, which is easier to remove (although I doubt reuploaders would put out that much of an effort) or becomes illegible after a few reuploads and lower res reencodings. So make a card that's visible a few times in your "for laughs" videos esp. during the "funny" parts and make sure it's clear enough that it will survive reencodings.

  • @superdau The 15 times reuploaded and splotchy "funny" videos that still get > 1 million views (and money for ads) seem to disagree with you there. No matter what you do to the video someone with more free time than you will reupload it anyways.

Aussie50 should be flattered that anyone actually cared to steal his videos. He is at least semi internet famous now! :p

  • @sapbeast

I never claimed it will prevent reuploads in any way. It's just a way to let people know where the original is coming from. If people instantly see it's a rippoff maybe they won't make a video go viral that easily. And even if it does, the orginal channel will get some more views by people just looking for more from the original.

  • Streisand effect.... You can't get rid of something from the internet once uploaded....

  • While I'm ok with someone redoing or even recutting others videos (hey it's the internet, you get ideas from there!), I really hate the "reuploaders". Quality is mostly crap because of several reencoding cycles and it's hard to track down the original. If I come accross such videos, even if I don't know what the original is, I'll flag all but the one with the earliest upload date as spam/scam/mass advertising. Youtube really needs an option of "copy of" for reporting!

  • @Aussie50 i uselly use the flag if its somone i know hwos been ripped from, or make a claime in the answer box that helps too

  • DESTROY THEM. DESTROYYY

  • Time to watermark your videos Ed! That way people can see it's yours and not the other guys work!

  • your computer was so mad that it dont load the video.lol

  • Hey Aussie, completely unrelated to this video, I would like to fund you on building a geet motor. contact me if your interested.just type geet rod into YouTube.cheers Nathan.

  • Maybe its time to start watermarking your videos and have a link which has this channel on in tiny writing.

This is what The Original HD Channel done but now his channel is coming up unavailable?

  • well you know that if you get popular then a lot of stupid people that don't have their own ideas re-upload your videos and tries to profit from you like they did with Andy...

  • LOL, at cat in a washing machine, what are they thinking! - Anyway, copycats that steal your work is annoying as hell - I hope it doesn't get you down like Photonic - miss him a bit...

  • Try water marking future videos :)

  • @aussie50 hey Aussie :) just a suggestion for future videos... Maybe put a "watermark" saying "By Aussie50" over the whole video, then they won't be able to crop it off or deny piracy, continue your awesome videos, from sale Victoria thanks :)

  • Putting stuff on the internet, be it pictures or videos , is like peeing in a pool . Once its out there you can,t get it back

  • At least you can see the funny parts

  • whats with the no skippable ads before the videos every one puts up now can you disable them?

  • crucify them!

  • another thing that might help is actually being in your vids.

  • This is the kinda stuff that worrys me and my videos. That's why most of my videos have my water mark on them.

  • Comment removed

  • Its sad this happens so much. Its amusing when people do their own funny effects and that and upload for other people to see. But the people who just copy videos and upload them again is pointless.

And especially when they go and put ad sense adds on the videos!

  • prehapes try watermarking your videos ?

  • I guess you got my message then? lol

  • @vmodder lol yeh and about 10 others!, funny how fast news spreads between sites!

  • @Aussie50 I saw your videos on liveleak too the other day, I forgot to message ya.

  • Well' how the hell do you wash your cat? Granted mine bitches about the spin cycle a bit' but he gets over it, When I dry him it makes all the money I spent on the front loader window machine worth every penny!!!

  • Sad people with no imagination.

How about turning this to your advantage with a message and link to you channel embedded in the original video. I for one, as a subscriber would not mined a ticker tape style message if it keep your videos coming.

Ney illegitimate carborundum, Don't let the bastards grind you down.

  • x_x what has youtube become. you have to now verify a video is legitmitly made by the uploader

  • For each of those pirated vids, fans of this channel should post a comment on there, linking back to the original clips in here.

  • "Couldn't be FUR-thur from the truth!" I lolled even if that wasn't intentional.

  • Oh God, what a pain in the bum, you know why people do it, it's to get attention, they only care about the numbers of view to their channel and get traffic to their video uploads, damn that's annoying, do they even acknowledge you in the video descriptions? Im assuming they don't.

  • Simple solution. Watermark your videos with logo/youtube name or something. Or just write Aussie50 @ YouTube on piece of a paper and tape that to your next victim or right next to it. Look at YouTube member nurdrage and how he is doing it.

  • @Kizmox I've seen some of his vids a while ago, he has printed name cards or something in the background.

Guess I should run some off on heavy card and stick them to things when I do the videos.

general update and engineering ones are least likely to get ripped, but funny/crazy vids are always the first

  • @Aussie50 virtualdub can slap watermarks on videos, and can be scripted.

  • @Aussie50 May I suggest something other than an offending watermark like a greeting that goes like: "Good day folks, this is Aussie50 on YouTube bringing a new video" and that way you get your tag and its orgins.

  • @CMDRSweeper Very good point

  • @Kizmox it does not work, been there done that, all re-uploaders do is either crop or completely cover your watermark

  • i watch yours aussie and the copy right and yours has talking in it and the copy right dose not

  • I agree about the watermark. Yes it looks stupid but its going to be necessary sooner or later

  • f@#% idiots

  • try using a watermark at least they will know where it comes from

  • That sucks. It’s one thing sharing someone else’s video, but doing it deliberately to make money is the pits. As people have already said, watermark your videos with your youtube channel address, then at least some people will filter through to your channel. Cats in washing machines! what next cat bait shark fishing!? Some people need to be put in a washing machine...

  • how could they possibly have a legitimated counter-claim when its solely your material and you have gave no permission to anyone to mirror it. its just fucking bullshit.fucking you tube

  • Cats in washing machines ROFL!!

  • and youtube gives such a shit about copyrighted material in videos, what about this youtube staff?

  • @zackarydemon they don't care unless somebody like Sony Entertainment or Viacom is wringing their necks and throwing lawyers at them.

  • ed if you can make updates or channel broadcasts from your sites i am sure a lot of your fellow you tubes will go and flag it i know i posted a comment telling all that the video is from your channel...like this post so all can see

  • You would think youtube could scan uploads for duplicate content..

  • @donpalmera nah, not unless its a big name title or something. likewise the re-uploads have been cropped and compressed more, so its data signature is different to my HD file. the bots would never pick it up.

  • Comment removed

  • Photonicinduction's videos are spreading like bush fire in aussie. I don't think there is much more he can do. Because there are hundreds of different uses uploading them back on.

  • thats bullshit something needs to be done about that

  • What i do is Watermark videos

  • @FrozenParanormalwolf I see soon that watermarking will be on alot of videos since people like to copy it off someone else and put it on another site and get paid.

  • @wotldthe2006 Yep i was about to say the same thing, Ed may think about putting his youtube address near the center of the picture, on every frame.

  • @FrozenParanormalwolf yeh, it will come to that, having a ugly watermark across the whole frame :(
