What's happened to the Weather Channel. It used to be calm, clear, concise, and informative during coverage of hurricanes. Now it's only about upping the ratings by hyping up the hurricane. By watching this clip, you would think your watching CNN or Fox News. Yup, the Weather Channel has certainly gone downhill over the last few years. I mean, they want to make everybody in the nation panic by its yelling and screaming. this station has lost it's sense of trust and that's a sad fact :(
I honestly didn't think that Storm Alert on Ike was a hype-up. Ike was a giant hurricane, bigger than katrina, and a greater effect on land. Hell, the storm surge was affecting nearly every place in the gulf coast
I understand what your saying. I'm just saying that I saw a clip of weather channel coverage of hurricane andrew from 1992 (which was just as bad, if not worse than ike) and they tell you all of the information as it is without the yells and the screams. Because of this, they were much more clear in their reports.
@metsfreak4life Storm Alert isn't a hype-up. It is only gone into by TWC if the approaching hurricane is really severe. there was only ever one year of Storm Alert hype-ups for TWC, and that was 2006 (Alberto and Ernesto). before/since, Storm Alert has only served to EMPHASIZE, not overhype, the severity of the storm.
as I mentioned earlier, when the weather channel did coverage of hurricanes back in the 1990s. They gave the facts, there was no bias, and they told the truth. In fact, they covered another very destructive hurricane in 1992: andrew. Just look at the youtube clip "Hurricane Andrew 1992 Landfall" that's what hurricane coverage SHOULD be like.
@metsfreak4life But, as even the national weather service is realizing if you really look at the new severe weather alerts, people sometimes need a little bit of a whap to get them to realize, "hey, this is actually a serious issue." When all that's given is facts, with no telling people how bad it's gonna be, nobody evacs just cuz it's THERE. They'll only evac if they see a real threat. Storm Alert gives that necessary sense of danger.
in 1992 houston,tx had a ef4 tornado best record now we have weak ef0's tornadoes

Me gusta la música de este Theme. Pero no puedo creer como los ponen en riesgo a los periodistas de este canal. Is very dangerous.
