  • @shanebboy If your talking about the codes, it won't, it only works on a ROM. But if your talking about Super Mario 64 it's self it is for the Nintendo 64.

  • The end result may be similar, but the method is completely different. With this approach, more complex modifications can be made to the game code, instead of just modyfing values. They are more appropriate however for ROM Hacks than Gameshark codes.

  • Very good. It's interesting what happens with the Chain-chomp.

  • Too bad the game crashed at that point. I guess it`s probably because the poundable log and chain-chomp are connected objects. I will update my site in a few days with some `C` header files for Mario64, there`s a lot of fun stuff that can be done (at the expense of having very big codes).

  • Yeah, I guess the advantage of writing is ASM from start is shorter codes, but they still end up long.

  • The codes don't work on my Project 64 program.

    Is it because you are using Nemu64, or are the codes for the PAL version only?

  • It's only for NTSC. I haven't tested the "Explosive Objects" code, but the two music codes work. The "drummer" code needs you to set PJ64 CPU emulation as Interpreter (from Rom Settings, which can be only acessed once the ROM is loaded). Once you set it to interpreter, you'll have to reset the game for the change make effect.

  • Ok, I will try the music codes. Is it only the 'drummer' code that needs the Interpreter turned on? Can you please test the "Explosive Objects" code to try to make it work on a Project 64 emulator?

  • Sweet Job! These codes look sweet! A few comments though

    1. Why does it seem to make an object explode only if your on top of it?

    2. Why do alot of music mods (including mine D:) mute the sound?

    3. The drum didn't work in the castle for some reason. Do you know why?

    4. Why was the explosion continuing after you went inside at 5:00?

    5. Is it just me, or does the word "boom" spawn on top of the object?

  • Yes, "boom" spawns at the top of an object when exploded.

  • 1. I set the objects only to explode when Mario is very near. Since distance is measured from the center of the object, sometimes the only way to reach this point is to go on top of it.

    2. Not sure, the audio/music system is very complex.

    3. There isn't any drum instrument loaded in the castle, that's why.

    4. I don't know.

    5. BANG is printed when they explode, but on second though BOOM is actually a better onomatopoeia for that situation :D.
