It is the most beautiful death what you'll ever have.

  • I am an American of Scotish decent and I was treated like a friend by the scottish people. Ofcourse I tried hard not to be an ass. After all, I was a visitor in someone else's country. If you don't like the way you were treated in Scotland....well, maybe your an ass.

  • I am Swiss with spanish rooots, but when i was fourteen i saw the first time pictures of Scotland and what's happened to me? I fell in love inmediately with this beautiful Country. A big dream of me, is to make a visit to Scotland - the Land of my heart. If everyhing goes well...next year. :-)

  • @miro5594

I prefer Switzerland to Scotland. The Scots are not very friendly toward visiting Americans, but I found the Swiss to be a magnificant people.

    God Bless Switzerland

  • @pluto4847 Really is that why Americans, keep coming back here? And are one of the biggest tourists to the country.Ever thought it might have had something to do with your own personality or lack of it.As to why you might not have gotten on with anybody here?We get on perfectly well with Americans. They live here loads of them. And never went home when the subs left the Holy Loch. They all live on the coast. If we are meant to be so anti American. Why are they still here, staying on there own accord?

  • @legandrydirk

Well there is less freedom in Scotland.

  • @pluto4847 Shut it your Country oppressed blacks right up to the 60ties.We know all about it here.So do not talk about being oppressed or being free. When there is people still alive, who judged others on the colour of there skin.Who were high up in power and running your nation.Obama being President was a long time coming. And blasted your hick culture less nation into the 21st century.

  • I want to visit the Highlands! We in Canada have some Dragoon/Scottish regiments.

    Greets from Canada

  • @PcGamerPaul Cheers mate all the best from Scotland !!

Good luck with a visit sometime aye :D

  • I'm visiting from Mexico next month, what is the best way to go to the highlanders

  • I have heard that Scotland, and especially the Highlands are beautiful but I never thought it was that mindblowing after watching a show on TV a few minutes ago.

I definately want to go there! At least 3 weeks to really enjoy it.

Can any Scot tell me if it is allowed to sleep in the wilderness, fish or cook (small campfire)?

I would like to enjoy it on foot. Thanks for the help!

  • @Victortrotska as far as i'm aware in the highlands u can camp just about anywhere that is not farmland or private land, but there are hundreds of camp sites throughout the entire country, and as for fishing that varies for a permit and not a permit to fish depending on your area, and for campfires, a small campfire is always allowed ! hope you come on over sometime ! be wary though it does rain more often than not !

  • @Davebored21 Thank you for this help! Rain or not I would enjoy it! I am used to various weathers here in the French Alps.

I think the Highlands would be the perfect spot to disconnect from this "daily routine" for two to three weeks. Plus Scots are usually very friendly! And I would like to taste some tasty Haggis and some good whiskey! :)

Do you have much tourists during the month of august? Unfortunately because of my company's policy I can only have some holidays during August.

  • @Victortrotska well august is one of the few months we get good weather ( that and july/june) so it is a busy month for tourists but they usually go to the cities mainly edinburgh ( which has been proven to be the most wanted city to visit on the planet) so the highlands wouldn't be too bad ! and ye we are the most friendly lol

  • @Davebored21 Good :) I do not like when the area is crowded with "mass" tourists who are usually noisy and unrespectful of the country they are in.

Thank you for your time! You are lucky to live in a paradise on Earth! :)

  • @Victortrotska no problem ! hope when u visit u have a lovely time :)

  • 1 dislike is not human i think =_=

  • highlands of scotland are the heaven in earth.

  • @glenzboyz

How come it is taboo to consider yourself English by blood yet accepted to consider yourself Scottish on account of origin?

By the way, beautiful song and pictures.

  • @NormbrettaMod Cheers glad you enjoyed viewing.

Don't know what taboo you talk about, my interests are photography and Scotland !

  • @bigeeezy cheers glad you enjoyed !!

  • One Question to you Scottish. Why do you all hate Americans?

That's what I keep hearing. What did we ever do to you guys?

    Can you tell us please.

  • @TheMartian20 A big majority of yanks are originally from Scotland

may be it because when I was their I got fed up being asked if I knew

some obscure village that I had never heard of and did I know

Mc some body or another..........It aint that wee man

  • @scotishjohn

I was in Scotland as a visitor. As soon as I walked into a pub, complete silence.

They all gave me a cold look because I was a Yank.

All I asked for was some Scotch on the rocks with my American accent.

The barman said, Scotch what the bloody is that? Its called whiskey.

I mean like excuse me for getting it wrong.

  • @TheMartian20 Well thats news to me !! I never knew we hated ALL Americans.

I am not in habit of judging people on where they were born.

In fact I have many a friend on here from America !!

  • @glenzboyz

Well I failed. I thought I was so invinsible, but when I went to Scotland I found out my weaknesses.

I thought because I was a success in America, Canada, and other countries that I'd be successful in Scotland too.

    I lost.

So as a good sport, a scots, man finally beat me, and I admit this. Best wishes.

  • @TheMartian20 No my friend your nae invisible nor weak your just human !

All the best for Christmas and the NewYear !!!

  • Great pictures! The Scottish highlands are easily one of the most beautiful places on earth. Just a pity a lot of people living in the UK go on holiday abroad. People living in the UK should go on holiday in there own country and see how beautiful it really is. Might make more British people feel proud to be British.

  • @XrGrimreap3rX cheers mate glad you enjoyed.

aye the highlands are amazing 4 sure !!

  • my soul belongs to the highlands of the world.

I'll certainly keep it in mind .... cheers :)

  • It was wonderful to visit your beautiful country. We stayed in Central Scotland, the Highlands and the Hebrides. We especially loved Skye. Just sorry we didn't have time to hike around in the mountains we saw as we went through the highlands--especially The Cuillen. We couldn't see everything in the time we had, of course, and your videos are helping to fill the hole. Maybe we will get to go back some day. Thank you.

  • @cheopup Your welcome glad you enjoyed your visit !!

  • Scotland is all i dream off...all my life...when my day come to leave this world..i want to end in Scotland...love this video and the music....

  • I belong to the highlands of the world, love scottland!!

  • @toppguun Cheers mate glad to hear it :D

  • This is SO beautiful. I've been to GB twice but never this far north ... hopefully I can get there at least once more and make sure I see this in person. (Around 1:44 -- where is that? It's even more beautiful, which I wouldn't have thought possible!)

  • @MrsNorris55 The photo is taken from near a village called Applecross

looking across to the Isle of Skye. It is in the NW Scotland and a favourite of mine :)

I hope you manage to visit it some day soon it's well worth it :)

  • Are the people of the Highlands the descendant of the Picts ?

  • @gipcambero Sorry but i';m not an expert but I'm sure many of the Scottish Highlanders hail from Pictish back grounds without any doubt :))

  • @gipcambero, Yes...

The 'Picts' were the early Scots, exact same people, just under a different name.

The word 'Picti' was just a Roman Latin word that the Romans called the Scots, (Picti was Latin for 'The painted People') because of the Scots using blue woad tattoo's in battle.

The Romans could not conquer Scotland, (Romans called Scotland 'Caledonia').

The Romans only could conquer Brittania (now known as England and Wales)

  • @segano1

Thank you, and is there more red hairs people in the Highland than in the rest of Scotland. Is there a link between the Picts and red hairs people in Scotland ??

  • @gipcambero, Most red haired people are from the south western part of Scotland, notably Glasgow, there is no known link but it's thought that it's actually more of an Irish trait rather than a Scottish one, although there are more red haired people in Scotland (13%) than anywhere else in the world, there are almost as much in Ireland, and the reason Scotland could have more is from the Irish immigrations to Glasgow due to the famine problems they had in Ireland.

  • @gipcambero Most Scots are dark haired or blonde but 13% of the Scottish population are red haired (that 13% mainly being from the west coast), 13% may not seem like a lot, but that's a lot for one country, especially when you take into consideration that red hair only makes up 2% of the worldwide population.

Also, although some people may not look like they have red hair, there is a 40% chance that they still have the recessive red head gene in them, they may just not look visibly red headed

  • @gipcambero, Also in direct anwser to your question, there may well be a link, or at least partly.

A Roman historian recorded that when they first came into contact with the Scottish Picts in Caledonia (Scotland) some described them as dark haired and tattoo'd, but one other recorded that they were 'red haired' and 'Large limbed'.

  • @segano1 Rome was overstreched on all fronts during the conquest of Scotland and luckily for the Scots Hadrian said Rome shall expand no more and built Hadrians wall which was used to keep checks on Romes enemies on both sides of the wall.

  • THIS is why i love scotland. it is EASILY the most beautiful place in the world and i bet our fellow Scots and anyone that comes to Scotland will agree with me. England is over-crowded and over rated and i dont like the english. yes i am 100% scottish haha !, thanks for the video, your showing the world how breath-taking scotland is !

  • on my travels, people ask why im proud of being scottish, these people have never been the the highlands, they have never camped out with a warm drink waking up to the sight of a lovely sunrise amongst the wilderness and beauty of what scotland truly has to offer,

  • @ReaperGFX Sounds great my friend :))

    Alba gu brath !!

  • Glorious video

  • @bigeeezy Cheers !

  • i love my country, there is something mystical about scotland and its wonderful! the highlands are one of the closest things to heaven im so proud to be a scotsman, its a shame how scotland always gets the raw deal due to sellfish politicians and fat cats. I WILL NOT LET THEM BRING US DOWN...EVER!

  • Beautiful video. My heritage is from Scotland, and I can not wait till the day I and my family can come over to this beautiful country. Thanks for video. I love it!!

  • Hello from London. My heart is in the Highlands, just come back from camping there, in the bits of remaining ancient pine forest. There's only 1% of it left because man-as usual-has raped the land over the years. The forest used to cover most probably all of the land that was featured in this video, except for the peaks. Now most of it is barren-and it shouldn't look like that naturally. Please look into this for yourselves and support Trees For Life, look on google. Peace.

  • Thanks again for your comment :)
