thiankyou dubliners, you are the soundtrack to my nannas life, and listening to your music is helping me remember her, as she has just passed away. she was a true irish rover!! x x x
@patsyod of course he is along with all the other great's like him,his auld mate,Ronnie Drew,Phil Lyonnett,Tommy Mackem and The Clancy Brothers, etc i could go on and on,must be some ballad seisson
u are 1 dumb mother fucker, stupid stupit paddy irish man, no douth out of work & with out a girlfriend because the forners have taking them all & u still wont say a bad word against them, wow what a coward u are..you have become so civilised you will let your self starve rather than speak out!
Our culture is being bled like a stuck pig, we should look inwards instead of outwards , this song is so prophetic , the travelling people have an awful lot to offer in terms of their own traditions and values, and that is something which the so called modern irish culture is clearly lacking.
@uiscebox aye maybe in dublin bt you want t go to the countryside full of yokes like tht, i play with gerald mcquaid last night theres not a thing modern about him ! or any of the boys i kno and htey all no locks of songs just like this one. you keep saying 'our culture is disappearing this' and all that but it just isnt being kepy alive cus the young ones listen to a load of cunting garbage and dont play irish music. and i kno a travelling man they call tippy toes whos a real piece so it goes

The most beautiful voice of all belongs to Luke Kelly.
That is - it doesn't belong to him anymore, it belongs to all of us.
Thank you, Luke!

The man never sang a song badly, you could listen to any of his recordings repeatedly. Choosing a fav song by him is almost impossible.
