i was heartbroken wen marissa decided to leave cos there was always a chance she was gona cum back but killing her?!?!!? crazy!!!! and i def think that gossip girl has wayyy better looking actors and actresses the only pretty people were marissa, summer and seth lol but i agree that the o.c had better acting, but blair, chuck and dan are also very good actors, the others not so much. ok i love both shows too much to decide which one is better!!

Gossip Girl is so superficial and it's so over dramatised. I like The OC better because it had heart and you actually sympathised for the characters.

As much as I love Gossip Girl, the O.C. was definitely a much better show. It had some amazing writers (Seth's quirky/witty humor) and some amazing scenery. Plus, Ryan (Ben MacKenzie) was classically trained and this explain his superb acting skills. Also, Gossip Girl has some pretty awful actors in it. Blake Lively looks like she has a fish in her mouth every time she talks and Taylor Momsen (who plays Jenny Humphrey) has about one expression in every episode.

Jenny and Kaitlin aren't alike -Kaitlin's a bad girl but she's not a bitch to her friends or mom -as opposed to Jenny who IS and is completely obnoxious. Marissa was never really a bad girl who slept w/Summer's bf or ex bf. It's funny I used to find M a bit self-centered until I saw what the TV show made Serena look like. wow. I actually like Marissa more. -Serena might be more stable in relationships but it's still obnoxious how she expects everyone 2feel bad for her for the mistakes SHE made.

haha i lovedd the oc when it was airing but i love gossip girl too

its hard to pick which ones better! The relationships in the oc sandy/kirsten ryan/marissa and seth/summer were maybe even better than dan/serena blair/nate or dare i say even blair/chuck but the overall storylines of gg have so far matched or even exceeded the drama/scandals of the oc! humour on the oc was probably better but the glamour and daring aspects would go to GG!

bit i suppose luke was actually a recurring character in season 1 of the oc and featured in the credits and stuff, so it would make more sense for him to compared to chuck. imo anyway. :)

they have similarish personalities aswell, and both him and ryan are fighting over the same girl (nate and chuck, over blair.) just think that luke and chuck are better comparisons that chuck and trey personally. but i do see where you're coming from. :)

i'd have the say the oc because i dont know, there's just something about it. it's really funny and witty, and the characters are great. plus there's a bit more drama going on, which i'm always a fan of. :D

but i do LOVE gossip girl, it's really original and again all the characters have great chemistry. i love both shows really. they're completely different, but also very similar haha.

Marissa was given way to much attention in the 3rd season and even though i am a fan of Marissa, even i couldnt stand it. What i hated the most was the writers putting too much focus on marissa and then saying that they had felt that they basically had no more ideas for her, and thats why they chose her to die. I just wish they could have given us a better 3rd season than that.

I'm so disappointed with the casting, the lack of following the plotlines and basically changing the characters' histories and personalities. Honestly, all Josh really did was transplant all The OC personas to NYC. And that's how I feel.
