cant speak for any african american besides myself, but my guess would be because most democratic representatives support points that would clearly benefit the middle to lower class people which alot of black people fall into that category unfortunately

I' m probably gonna get in trouble for saying this but here goes. Ever since FDR made all those programs the democrats have been known as the help me party. Democrats actually enlist the aid of their volunteers to go into the poorer black neighborhoods to influence people to vote for the democratic party. (I heard this from a source)
