The ease in which you push up the weight is impressive. I still haven't pushed past 300lbs, I can only do it once, My usual workout is 135, for explosive half reps, 225x3 245x3 265x2 and a few sets of 275x1. My next goal is 350lbs. I hope i can make it look that easy.
Ha, ha..thanks Josh. Just hit 410 lbs today. Video should be up later...wasn't going to max today, but my last warm up set with 390 lbs looked really good when I review the vid, so I thought, why not...threw 410 lbs on there and squeezed it out. It was a little harder than it should be, but I will take it!
Thanks Robert. Yeah, my repping ability always way outpaces my single maxes. I am no where near 435 lbs at the moment. Just hit 410 lbs today...so hopefully more to come...
Yeah, my best single set of 10 reps was with 320 lbs. So, I am pretty happy to hit two sets of 10 reps with 325 lbs and a little bit to spare. Could probably do 330 lbs on a good day...
Not quite...I hit 410 lbs with a close-grip when I was 205 lbs...that's as close as I have come. Now my bodyweight is up to 220 lbs...so 440 lbs is the new goal. We'll see how long that takes to get too...so far my best with my regular grip is 410 lbs done today (will be posted later).
Bench is the focus for a little while, I tweaked my back a few months back, so I am resting it from squats and deads. But there are plenty of those vid's on my channel if you wish to check it out...
@Salamandria23 I know that I personally have been doing Heavy workouts in the beginning and light workouts at the end of the week and it is making a huge difference in strength and muscle growth gains.
Both...sometimes the joints and tendons need a break from heavy lifting, but also the hypertrophy work builds endurance and training capacity so that you can train heavier longer. Also, it's just good to have different PR's to try and break at different rep levels.

Great job man! 325x10 is 433, rounded up to 435, Randy! Two sets of 10, too! Probably just an estimated max, though.

I have a question- What is your long-term goal for bench weight-wise? haha
Great Progress!
luvsam924 8 months ago
@luvsam924
Thanks man...at the moment, it's a 440 lb (200 kg) bench. After that...who knows.

do you ever do any other exercise apart from bench?

@BRETZERR fair enough, are you training for any particular sport or just for general fitness?
needabloodyname 8 months ago
@needabloodyname
Just something to do...I set a goal a few years back to bench 400 lbs...now that goal is 440 lbs. Keeps my competitive spirits occupied...

Question bro why do you do light bench workouts on certain days..is it based on how you feel that day? or is it beneficial in some way shape or form.
