This port annoys me to be honest. I like some of the added dialogue but they shouldn't have changed what was already there. What annoys me the most is that it feels so slow. The speed x runs at is probably the same as the original snes version but it just feels like you aren't going as fast.

I also find it funny that MM: Powered Up is in a cute chibi style, while Maverick Hunter X is in a more mature style.

What the hell did they do to Vile? I'm all for giving you the chance to attack him, but they slowed him down ridiculously and made his attacks pathetic.. The original version had Vile coming after you impossibly fast and hard.

I'm sorry but duh, he's "impossibly fast and hard" because you're SUPPOSED to lose in that version. And he's the first damn boss in the game, if he's supposed to be beatable, don't you think he ought to be easier than all the other bosses?

No, because the point of losing that battle is to show X's current weakness. He's supposed to be afraid of battles, and too weak to take on someone as powerful as Vile - making the rematch later on a sign of how X can grow and become more mature as the games and story progress. Making Vile beatable right at the beginning undermines X's development.

Beating Vile should be something that only an incredible pro should be able to do, if he should even be beatable at all at that point in the game.

Well, why would you even be able to jump over an entire ride armor AND its pilot, without using a booster or leaping off a wall, in the first place? Kinda makes it a useless thing to have an all-powerful ride armor, then they can just hop over it and blast you in the back of the head.
