  • Do you plan on doing any Gravegaurd Taetorials :)

  • @Girhin I'd like to! I have a box built up but haven't been able to get to them. If I can, I'd like to definitely do a taetorial! Thanks for tye suggestion!

  • I'm single too. ;-0 sexy necromancer!!! Louis, you are looking good! Teehee.

    Kisses,

    Nikki

  • @stockingcpl lol Louis says "thank you"!

  • haha, great idea to incorporate louis in your tutorial! wouldn't mind if he was appearing more often helping you out ;D

  • @MetalMaggo lol thanks for the input! Now that guy will never shut up =D

  • ...How does a skeleton play a horn?

  • @ShinKyou918 That's something I've been asking myself since I got into this hobby =P

  • Hey WarbossTae are you going to get that HUGE new vampire counts model the name skips me . me and my girlfriend are going to get it and paint it up it looks amazingly fun to paint

  • @MetalBrushMinatures You know it! There's an article in the latest White Dwarf on how to paint it up in it's Mortis Engine configuration, but I think that the Coven Throne with the sexy shmexy lady vamps on it looks much more interesting. i wish my gf collected and painted with me /cry

  • @WarbossTae I need to get that new White Dwarf, the two options on the 'big vampire ghost thing' i cant decide so i will try to magnatize them so i get a option. Haha my girlfriend is a artist aswell as me but she sticks to pictures and portraits so she can do some mean ass free handing ( -_- my girlfriend does mean ass freehanding.....)

  • You said that the models had a sort of Arabian look to them. When consider the vampire counts origins a lot of the first vampire counts armies would've been summoned from khemri and araby so you might be able to do some really cool themed stuff.

  • @ushabti1 That's a great point! I read in an old White Dwarf that covered the release of the previous codex and model release that the designers went for a look with the weapons and armor that made purposefully was old and 'of a bygone era', rather than freshly raised undead. I like the idea that the skeletons were raised in exotic places and stayed with the general as he traipses around the old world =D

  • @WarbossTae If you are looking for a really interesting read try the Liber Necris. It starts with the creation of the first true undead the vampires and then goes through the evolution of undeath and the different uses it is put to.

  • @ushabti1 Thanks for the suggestion, I'll see if I can get my hands on it. As a gamer with roleplaying roots, the fluff has always driven my interest in the hobby, and this does sound like a great read.

  • Great review! Really love to see your tutorial to painting these guys - another great vid for a newbie like me!

  • @NightsparkM Thank you! Congratulations on breaking into the hobby! The tutorial is almost finished filming. Keep on painting, my friend! =D

  • Nice modelling, but tons of flash... I feel that GW really should do a better QC on the flash as well. You pay a lot of money for their products so I feel it's more than normal to expect a neater product than they tend to sell people at present.

... and drop the skull galore... LOL You could think that the sculptors are all adolescents. =D

    Thanks Tae!

  • @bazZy33K Hey, I agree, the flash is pretty bad. They're the biggest dogs in the park these days and it would be so great if their products (FINECAAAST!) were a little better produced.

    Hahaha, Skullz Workshop! =P

  • Nice review and I'm glad you liked them!

You are right about them being a bit fiddly and that's the only main downside to the kit, but I think that's a price you have to pay to get really great detail on something as spindly as a skeleton :).

  • @TreasonousBastard Thanks for writing! I agree its a really worthwhile price to pay to have such great detail. I really am glad that GW produced these kits in the previous edition of VC, because they are such great models. Thanks again for commenting =D

  • really nice review when you get any of the new vc plese have old man necromancer doing the review instead of you cause he does em better then you(joke)

  • @hobbybutterfly WAAAH! I must delete this before Louis sees it and starts demanding work benefits =D

  • you know another cool thing to do with them that i didnt mention is simply cut the shield arm abour half way, making it look like it was cut off in battle...it adds a great lil extra narative to the unit :D

  • @johnkerry7 Hey, that's a great idea! I love conversions like that. Anything that adds narrative to the unit is great in my book! Thanks for the tip! =D

  • Louis is way cool lol, great review Tae, cant wait to see the taetorial

  • @Cabilis66 lol thank you, my friend! It should be finished soon =D

  • Thanks for the review. Best wishes.

  • @redfox4242 Thank you, my friend! Best wishes to you, as well!

  • Hello warboss tae. love the review mate

    Spunky

  • @RyanRancidStaines Thanks for watching and commenting! =D

  • you can make 20 skeletons from a box of 10, if you stick heads and arms on the base, make them look like their coming out the ground

  • @tardisboy I didn't think of that, great idea!

  • Great review, I liked the section on showing what's left over! Love the zombie/skeleton being dragged. LOL

  • @Generalsplatton Thanks Splatton! =D

  • Hahaha, your bitching about prizes you can come and live in the au and pay double what you are paying over in the states.

  • @ushabti1 Good point

  • great unboxing, they look awesome :)

something i still have trouble with, is the musician having a horn... a horn! ...theyre skeletons, they dont have lungs, or lips! lol!

they need drums or bells or cymbals or something instead!

  • @archaeolas Thank you! AND I COMPLETELY AGREE! I really noticed it when the Tomb Kings came out and ALL of the musician models, from the skeletons, to the Tomb Guard, to the Cavalry, had some kind of horn or trumpet. I think it was the sculptors' way of having a laugh at our expense =D

  • @WarbossTae haha! maybe! XD

as far as the wind coming from behind goes, i think that ties in well with the 'evil force' driving them forwards. also, the tail wind would cause the enemy to smell death approaching! lol! i think they have spells for noxious gas clouds and swarms of flies and things to, which would all tie in with the wind coming from behind. pushing all the bad smells and stuff into the enemies faces!

  • Thats a lot of extra skulls, GW is obsessed with skulls, must be a pact with unnatural silent partners.. best not to ask. Good looking skeletons, I like how huge the spear tops and sword blades look as if from a time when the blacksmith hammered out big chunks of metal in contrast to the refined and reigned in use of precious resources forged currently.

Two thumbs up? Cant argue with a review like that, thanks Louis.

  • @Lostsoul1889 haha, GW should change their name to Skull Workshop. I never thought of that, but I completely agree, that the spear tops and sword blades look very much like they were hammered out back in the days of quantity over quality, before the smiths knew how to refine their technique and only wanted to arm the soldiers as quickly as possible. I love it!

  • Very thorough review of what comes in this box man. I liked the combinations you used for your 10 man unit. I also like the fact you said to hell with how well it works in game this was what you wanted to see! Honestly unless you are playing in tournaments to hell with WYSIWYG. Just have fun with the games! This looks like a fairly good box with all of the extra bits. Well done!

By the way I think I just seen a couple kids on Louis's lawn again! haha

  • @VividAdventures2010 Thank you for commenting! Haha, I agree, unless your local area is really strict on WYSIWYG, I say its your models, you paid for them, build them up however and just make sure your opponent knows what they really are.

    Louis! Get the hose! =D

  • They look very similar in build to the tomb kings. Much more armor parts than the TK tho. Even tho i agree on you with the spears i will make mine with Shield and weapon because i am gonna play competitive with mine aswell as friendly games at the club.

    Ras

  • @zacret I agree, great observation! Best of luck with building, painting, and playing your VC, my friend! =D

  • Grave guard are also a pain to build up, :(

  • @Handegekke Uh oh lol I just picked up a box but haven't started filming my review yet. Thanks for the heads up!

  • What a great review, can't wait for your januari coverage!

  • @DeathlyTharcandus Woohoo! Thanks! =D

  • BTW, i agree, the spears look better, even though most of mines have the hand weapon, AND the ones that are with spears i use as hand weapons anyways as they perform better and are cheaper... (nobody is gonna tell me a spear is NOT a hand weapon lol).

  • @johnkerry7 Yeah, haha, I built up a unit a long time ago with Hand Weapon/Shield because they last longer in combat, but as I've gradually gone from a gamer to a painter, I decided for this unit, I want to get them a more impressive look with the large vertical spears. And I agree! Nobody in my area is heavy WYSIWYG and anyone who won't let me play them as HW/Sh isn't someone I want to play with.

  • HEY!! you use the same glue i doooooo. and also, i tried using Mantic stuff...they are cool and cheap for sure....but something about them is missing....something about GWs i like a lil bit more, maybe its the more options, idk.... i have 2 units of 20 Mantic skeles on their website on the open gallery if you want to take a look :)

  • @johnkerry7 Woohoo! I agree, I really like the 'feel' of the GW kits better. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll take a look later when I get the chance!

  • 10guys is BS man. I'm sorry to say. However it's nice models. And I get my stuff off eBay for cheap so, anyway nice review!

  • @Ydouneed2nomyname TELL ME ABOUT IT! I love eBay, just got to make sure they ship the models well. These guys are really thinly built and delicate. I was shaving down a mold line on a leg and almost broke it in half =O

  • @WarbossTae Oh yea. Especially with plastic. Once ebay or amazon has a good deal i gotta pick these up. if the mold lines are an issue, instead of a file or hobby knife you can use 400-600 grit sandpaper to shave the mold lines. it takes a little longer but your less likely to accidently cut anything off.

  • Are you getting crazy man ? lol , just kidding, another awesome video. Keep it up ^^

  • @kiteman321 All this time cooped up in my mancave with these minis has driven me kookoo bird! =P Thanks for the comment, my friend!

  • Nice product review. I may have to get a box of these for conversions for my Legion of the Damned project I'm doing.

  • @ArmyofPaints Thanks for the compliment! It would definitely give you some creative options for the Legion of the Damned. Best of luck if you decide to go forward with it!

  • they do look reli kool, but i prefer chaos :D

  • @soppingwetpussyhead4 I have so much Chaos stuff I want to do videos on lol Curse these Ogres/Dwarfs/Vampire Counts/everything else that catches my attention! My poor finecast Dragon Ogre Shaggoth is just sitting in the corner, waiting for me to do an unboxing/review of him =D

  • haha, skeletons! I gotta do a review of mantic when I order up my army.... and we use the same plastic cement lolz, gotta love that needle... these skeletons are pretty cool but im more a fan of the realistic scale of mantic, and the fact they all look european, not like random cultures.

  • @ChaosBroodLord YES! That needle tip is a life saver!

I definitely think a review of the mantic undead would be very helpful, I haven't really seen one on YouTube and people will be looking for a cheaper alternative to the GW stuff. I think it would definitely net you some subscribers, come VC release =D

  • @WarbossTae my vampire zombie dragon video is still ranging good views going over 2k right now, that along with my few painting tutorials is helping my subscriber amountage :D

  • @ChaosBroodLord Nice! Best wishes of many subscribers, my friend!

  • @WarbossTae id wish u the same but u got many subscribers, haha

  • 10 skeletons for $25. HNNNNNGGGHHHHHHHH

  • @MrBlaarghh I know, I really don't blame ANYONE for going with the Mantic alternative. Especially for the massive amounts of these core troops you'll need to do a reasonable VC army!
