I am confused after looking at the cover of the single. We all know that good dance music is BLACK music. I guess the cover of this single was market to audiences in South America, who didn't know better. As long as the group got royalties, you can put Bugs Bunny in there. I don't care.
@fritshits77 Didn't a Black British RnB group called Beggar and Co. steal that chant for a song called "Somebody Help Me Out" or do they happen to be the same guys?
@oldschoolbx1970 SO sorry for my late answer .. has to do with change of mail-adres ! I just checked the song you named ( never heard of it..) and since they`re SO SIMULAR this becomes interresting > both are out of 1981 so WHO WAS FIRST ??? Will do some research and will get back atcha on this!! KIND REGARDS!
@fritshits77 The song I mentioned to you was only played on UK radio which is Somebody Help Me Out by Beggar and Company. That's why it never played on urban radio in NYC.
The album cover shown looks nothing like the group--Richie Weeks, Jocelyn Brown (then Shaw), and the rest, were black. The cover shown here is a joke and insulting.
The song is fine, brings me back to WBMX mix show days. Weeks never had another single close to this good though, except maybe Tunnel of Love and the much-copied Be Mine Tonight.
the thing I remember well `bout the cover( 12 inch vinyl ) that there were no pictures of band or Richy at all, was just big text in black & white ....still gotta have it lying around somewhere ...
@THRILLAKILLA187 I'm half-white. I'm saying that a record label's misrepresentation of something as fundamental as a band's ethnicity is unfortunate. And I refuse to give much credence to someone with no knowledge of punctuation. Since racism is an institutionalized feature, black people in this country are incapable of it, since they have never had control of the establishment. It's called reverse-racism if a black person expresses disdain for a white person, for a reason.
@OverlordR Let me clue you in on something: listen to a joint called "Somebody Help Me Out" by a British R n B band called Beggar & Co. and check out a chant that comes from this joint.
@oldschoolbx1970 Good call; it is a ripoff in that manner, being a year later. I'm surprised no one called them on it since it's not like in the hip lexicon like "throw your hands in the air" or something. For a similar "borrowing" there's "Set It Out" by Midway borrowing Hubert Eaves' keyboard riff from D-Train's "You're the One For Me", albeit they alter the tail end of it without making it less-catchy.
@OverlordR That looks like some bootleg cover...definitely not the cover i had on my 12" (I don't believe there was a picture at all, much less the one shown here)
Another Classic I grew up with......so FULL of ENERGY ! ! ! It's so funny how the acronym for this song is W.A.C., when the song itself, is actually the OPPOSITE of that! LMAO !
One of the greatest song of1981,i just love it,and they did one year later another great song called go whith the flow,i saw them in a club in 1982 i was 17,super souvenir!merçi ojaramilloz
This was the cut back in 1981...one wouldn't guess this kick ass sound actually came from the Netherlands (not that that is a bad thing)!!!!! Thanks for the post!!!

I've been wondering what happened to Ritchie Weeks. He made A GRADE disco songs. Terrific songwriter. Rock Your World was HUGE in Europe.
