You treat with contempt the things of God to which we are addressing. God is not mocked, dear soul, repent & feel the sorrow of heart that should be there instead of continuing in your self- destructive ways.I am praying for you.
He "removed" Linus' speech so he could replace it with the setup to the joke. Because that's what this is. A joke. Good god, people look for any excuse to get worked up.
Dear friend you err not knowing the Scriptures... Linus's speech was the text from the Gospel of Luke Chapter 2:10-15 . As much as Dave refers to God , (for God's sake, God Bless him or you, God knows, whatever),you might think he'd think twice before doing something like this. the audience was obviously bummed out by their reaction and he knew it that's why he pointed down at the end of the clip.
something as Pure and Holy as the Savior's Birth, God clothed in human flesh, one of the most significant times in History, and Letterman blasphemes the Scriptures, and drops this garbage in it's place. To do this is like having a conscience seared with a hot Iron. It's not only offensive to me and my children, but what about all those who were robbed of hearing the full Declaration of Jesus' Birth?
@heycolslaw I understand where you're coming from, but I really don not see where Letterman blasphemes the scriptures. He omitted Linus' speech about the true meaning of Christmas. I can't help but believe that the removal of the content of that speech in place of his joke was to avoid offending anyone. I would suggest that if anyone wanted to hear the meaning of Christmas, as told by Linus van Pelt, to watch the original Charlie Brown Christmas special and no other parodies of such.
Commercials are for businesses that can't manipulate thier customers enough. I didn't buy my computer for TV commercials to follow me around. They belong on TV. I'm afraid if that dream helmet ever comes out, I'll have to watch commercials there just as well ! Society can do without commercials on thier computer monitors.
This will bring attention to what Linus really said...about the Star in the East and Jesus lying in the Manger and so on concerning the Restoration of All Things (Acts 3:19-26).
commercials advertisements SUCKS!!!

I get tired of watching a show on cable that I pay for just to have another show play at the bottom.
