  • nice work

  • Anyone want to learn Japanese or Chinese?

  • @lilylessons not me :/

  • I am having problems with color grading on flower petals...do you have any tips?

  • i had terrible time also with the flower petal painting..but since she used the water color she can paint freely..1st thing is you have to lessen first the color you want then apply a little more darker on the edges and even more darker from the area that suppose to be dark..=) sorry if my English is bad...xD

  • Thanks for the tip. I will try this and see if it helps any!

  • This is a perfect rose.Love Roses, especially white and pink! this is going into my playlist for sure.

  • Thank you so much for your lovely comment. :)

  • This is for my grandma, i dreamt of her once again... miss you so very much, grandma...

    Thanks for great video!

  • Ahhh, Happy Birthday Grandma. I'm sorry for your loss. Maybe she was saying Hi to you in your dream!

  • Oh it's really good to see how you do this! I'm just amazed!

    Gabe :)

  • Thank you Gabe. :)

  • When you were doing the petals , do you work from the inner petals out or the other way around?

  • Hi Michelle, Thank you, and it varies as to where I start on a petal, normally I will lay in clear water where I want the values lightest and then lay pigment directly on to the dry parts and allow it to bleed. I hope that makes sense. :)

  • Absolutely, thank you!

  • Once again, very beautiful!

  • gorgeous -- again thanks for sharing your process with us -- it is so fascinating

  • It is Beautiful Lori..

I love this style of video that you make

and the music is always perfect for Artwork that is so stunningly gorgeous!

Great Taste all the way around..

Much Love & Light to you and fam..

All the Best for the upcoming Season!

  • Thank you Rick, your words are always so comforting, as I've been in a painting block lately, when you screw up so many times, you start to get frustrated, it's just like writers block, but with a brush instead of pen. LOL And you have a creative side, otherwise I wouldn't view your witty and clever videos. :)

  • What a beautiful rose. I love your work Lori.

  • Thank you Bill, you up for some boggle paintin? ;)

  • it,s lovely..but i still don,t know

    what friskett is?

  • Thank you. I am sorry, frisket is a type of adhesive that you put on your paper where you want to save the whites, and or protect the area from your initial painting.

  • Gorgeous demonstration!

  • Thank you Hellen. :) Very much

  • Lori,

How absolutely beautiful as always. Your talents are amazing!

    Take care!

    Hugs to you!

    Ginny

    xoxo

  • Ginny, Thank you soooo much. I saw your favorite of that gallery, do you know any of the artists or owner?

  • Not personally, but Robin Pedero who posted the video is a YT friend and subscriber of mine. That is how I "met" her. Do you know her channel, rmpastel? If not you should check it out and there are some great articles on this exhibit on her blog "pocketfull of colors".

  • I absolutely love this Lori. I love the way you can see the sheen of the Leif on the right and the light bouncing off of it. (If Im making any sense). I mean, I love it all! And after you added the indigo*gasp*

  • Oh Doug, so good to see you, and Thank you. You can tell an artist that gets excited about a blob of paint or white. LOL I'm off to try and view if you have any new vids. Thanks again Doug. :)

  • Gorgeous artwork, as always. You never disappoint. Are you classes finished that you were teaching?

  • Thanks Deb, no I'm still teaching, and will be until the snowbirds go home. LOL

  • I like how you lightened up the background with a wash of plain water. How did you keep it from bleeding into the flower in the foreground?

    What's the music you added?

  • Hi Beth, Thanks, it's not an easy task to do it after I've allready put the flower down, but just carefully going around with clear water.

The music is by Incompetech, I put it at the end of the video, but right now I can't remember. LOL
