nice car the BF, great power and tremendous torque but be careful on doing to-many launches like that, because if that is the same tranz as in the BA then they have a very weak planetary gear set up inside the tranz on which when they fail(which does happen alot) its a new tranz. also hook up an external tranz cooler (if it hasn't got one) as on the BA's the radiator was weak and would crack inside and would mix coolant with tranz fluid. both of what i said, is very common with the falcons.
this has the 6spd ZF auto transmission which are claimed to be bulletproof,i had previously owned a BA with the 4 spd slush box and yes my radiator spilt its guts and up for a $7000 new gearbox i was,the FG has a factory external cooling system for the tranny,cheers for your concern.

Yeah mate had a04 XR6 auto,with a handful of mods and a tune,ran a best of 14.4,got a PWR intercooler,plazmaman piping,72lb injectors,5 inch cat and a 15 psi tune going into the FG next saturday,ill post some vids with it in Performance mode (ZF) and TC off,should be pushing about 320 rwkw,she made 249rwkw stock as,oh and a drivers side airbox aswell.
That's good 14.4 my shitbox BF 6speed manual xr8 ran a best of 14.8 in full street trim untuned.
2 Months later spun a big end bearing. Found out the front and rear mains were leaking, blocked oil rings, leaking injector, 5mm gap in the plugs and fouled.
Rebuilt it now with oversize pistons, difillipo system, almost back together can't wait to tune it and see what it pulls hoping for 250-270rwkw.

@titin200 Holden yes. HSV, no. HSV ruins anything that Ford or FPV put out, Holden on the other hand can compete with the 5sec 0-100s of the XR6T, but can't surpass it. Not stock anyways, but with a little work they can go harder. But the same work done on an XR6T would also probably bring it back into line as well.
Seriously though, they're all bloody good Aussie cars - what is 0.2 seconds anyways really? Whichever one suits you best, go it.

@Agnu123 I agree with what you have to say mate they both make great vehicles but without being too biased the FG F6 against the VE 2 GTS,the F6 is a clear winner down the quarter,yeah the HSV may handle a bit better but ive FG XR6T "STANDARD" run 12.5-12.6 and there on youtube search it,let alone a FG F6 which ive seen run a 12.3 with MT's a cold night and a "LADY" driving,gotta love the inline 6 turbo.its a gem

The XR6T is an Aussie turbo 6 (ok, the auto is German built) Not an Imported V8 from the USA.
Even if there is a quicker V8 , the XR6T is around $20,000 cheaper.
So "bang for buck" you'd have to agree the XR6T / Typhoon have set the benchmark.

nice car the BF, great power and tremendous torque but be careful on doing to-many launches like that, because if that is the same tranz as in the BA then they have a very weak planetary gear set up inside the tranz on which when they fail(which does happen alot) its a new tranz. also hook up an external tranz cooler (if it hasn't got one) as on the BA's the radiator was weak and would crack inside and would mix coolant with tranz fluid. both of what i said, is very common with the falcons.

this has the 6spd ZF auto transmission which are claimed to be bulletproof,i had previously owned a BA with the 4 spd slush box and yes my radiator spilt its guts and up for a $7000 new gearbox i was,the FG has a factory external cooling system for the tranny,cheers for your concern.

Yeah mate had a04 XR6 auto,with a handful of mods and a tune,ran a best of 14.4,got a PWR intercooler,plazmaman piping,72lb injectors,5 inch cat and a 15 psi tune going into the FG next saturday,ill post some vids with it in Performance mode (ZF) and TC off,should be pushing about 320 rwkw,she made 249rwkw stock as,oh and a drivers side airbox aswell.

That's good 14.4 my shitbox BF 6speed manual xr8 ran a best of 14.8 in full street trim untuned.
2 Months later spun a big end bearing. Found out the front and rear mains were leaking, blocked oil rings, leaking injector, 5mm gap in the plugs and fouled.
Rebuilt it now with oversize pistons, difillipo system, almost back together can't wait to tune it and see what it pulls hoping for 250-270rwkw.
