  • This is a long shot. In 1964, I had a jigsaw puzzle of a cross country scramble. Bikes emerged in the distance from the centre left of the picture, passed groups of spectators, & climbed uphill to the foreground. There was a cyclist in the centre & a large group of spectators right background. Centre background were fields and hedges with a mountain beyond. I can’t remember the puzzle maker or title.

I've been trying to get this puzzle for years. Does anyone remember it?

  • Awesome stuff, that track looks like it would be a blast to ride. those guys hit those whoops with just as much passion as Chad Reed does....

  • Cool vid, nice 500 Triumph with high pipes.

  • Great. Brings back good memories. I used to watch scrambling at my local track at Jewels Hill in Kent in the 60s.

Can 1960 really be 50 years ago???

  • Ive got an old BBC Grandstand race featuring Jeff Smith etc. In black and white. Problem is its on betamax, anyone know if it can be digitised so I can upload it .Its an awsome race

  • It can be digitised, no problem, but you need to get hold of an old betamax machine to play it on, there are firms who could do it for you, but at a price.

  • awesome!!!!

  • Awesome footage. Sure, you'd love to hear the engines, but the olf projector rattle does just as well....Thanks!

  • This is great , thanks for sharing it with us Motto Cross (Scramble) fans .

  • can anybody help me find more 60s uk scrambling clips please, my father was in many scrables in the uk during the 60s and we would like to see more clips, great footage thanks

  • hi, my dad Keith Potter, was very in to moto cross, rode in the british teams circa 60's, he knows everyone on the circuit, or it would seem, what clips have you got ? I have got lots of cine film but haven't got them converted. Whats your dads name ?

  • Hi,

I think I now own your dads old Bultaco 350 Sherpa, his name is on the log book and it was supplied by Keith Potter m/c, It looks like your dad own it from new 1977 to 1999. Would love to have some info on the bike and your dad if possible. The Bultaco is all original and in superb condition.

    Regards, Steve Hunter

  • Good Job whomever Ossakid

  • There is 50s more footage of this in B&W on the ITN Pathe site, amongst other old bike films.
