Oh, also, pertaining to removing the DRM, he says in the video that you have to pay extra money to be able to put it on an MP3 player. The reason for that, and for the DRM, is because you haven't actually "bought" the track; you've only purchased a license to that track.
@ggisedd Most subscription services do not charge extra anymore for the mp3 player option but the track is can only be tied to one player on one itunes account if you are permitted to even use an ipod. Sure tunebite isn't free but it pays for itself over and over again. For the price of a carton of smokes you can get over 2,000 free legal tracks from a quality service like rhapsody or napster.
@kld2006 Okay, I am getting slightly annoyed now. I've explained what a DRM is many times here. The whole reason you're only able to play a track on one Itunes account is because you don 't actually own the song, you own a licence to the song. That's what the DRM controls, how you can listen to the music. That means that the record company made a deal with the distributor and said: "We only want them to be able to play it on one Itunes account." So they put digital rights management onto it.
@kld2006 Also, I NEVER was arguing which way was better (torrenting or doing it this way)! I was simply dispelling the illusion that this is legal, because it isn't. As I've said many times, it is just as illegal to to it this way, as it is to torrent it; you choose which way you prefer.
Hey Kid2006 I'm having trouble with my download. My music is transferring from Tunebite into the Itunes Library..I see the songs there..but when i try to transfer them to my Ipod Nano...nothing happens..can you help me troubleshoot please?
@jazzman33024 The best thing I can think of is to be sure your new songs are checked to be add when you sync. If you have converted the files and added them to iTunes then they should sync to your nano. It might be a problem with iTunes, as of last I have had a lot of problems with iTunes crashing and not sure what is going on.
@kld2006 Say I do this one a song called "J" well I cancel my napster subscription the next day can i still listen to the .mp3 version of "J" and not the .wav version of "J", or what?
@JUSTSAYIN154 Once you convert the track to mp3 it will still work even after your subscription is cancelled. Tunebite will not work on protected files if your subscription is cancelled as it will only legally convert files that you have a valid subscription for. So convert all your protected files while your subscription is still current.
This is a method I would prefer to do I dont care how legal it is... this is so much harder to track than other websites like frostwire. And its not going to be full of viruses and that type of crap.
@jtgraeve I don't think I quite understand what you mean. Nothing in my previous comment had anything to do with location. I was simply pointing out that it is just as illegal to remove the DRM (Digital Rights Management) from music downloaded through subscription serviced, such as Napster and Rhapsody, as it is to download it for free. So pretty much you would be better off pirating it for free, than paying $10 for it.
@ggisedd At college campuses they are more likely to catch you for using torrents than using a legal way to download music then convert offline, they would have to look on your computer to find that.
@ggisedd No it is not illegal and torrents are one of the highly most tracked ways of getting music its kind of like "p2p sharing", like limewire which was sued for 1.3 million so pirating is free unless caught then it can be thousands.
@JUSTSAYIN154 Okay, apparently you don't seem to understand what "DRM" stands for. DRM is "Digital Rights Management." The DRM is put there to control how you can play the music, how many copies you can have, etc. Most services, such as Rhapsody, have it in their terms of service that you are not allowed to attempt to remove the DRM.
@JUSTSAYIN154 As for torrents being one of the most highly tracked ways of getting music, I can't speak to the validity of that statement, however, I have been torrenting music for years now, and have never gotten caught (though I'm sure Time Warner has noticed, they just don't care enough to report it or terminate my service. ^_^ ). Either way, my original comment never had anything to do with torrening, I only said that it is just as illegal to remove the DRM, as it is to pirate it.
please help. i have rhapsody and want to put music on my ipod touch, but when i plug my ipod into the computer rhapsody doesn't recognize it under sources. when i go to manage my devices, it says the ipod is authorized, but it says my computer is not and to submit a computer name. but when i submit a name nothing happens.
Hey there, I had a question about DRM on the internet. I was able to download videos on youtube with no problems until my computer crashed. After i fixed it, i tried to download videos using the realplayer download bar and the DRM Protection stuff came out. Can this be fixed?
If this works..i will freakin kiss YOU!!! ive trryed like 10 stupid different trials..everytime it only removes 1 or 60 secs of the dmr... will it work on bearshare?
whenever i try to download a song from napster ( i see the napster screen exactly as you see it in the video) it doesnt allow me to select the option for downloading the song to my hdd. i subscribed but it still wont let me download it. wondering if u had any advice. am i missing something?
@megaxman06 I had the same problem. Napster has apparently changed their subscription plans to streaming only. You can have mobile access on certain devices with an internet connection, but there's no downloading anymore. Sucks! You might want to try Rhapsody instead. I'm on the Rhapsody free trial & downloads are allowed. Only issue is that for some reason the Audials software won't convert all of the songs.
Hey. Great video. Napster won't allow downloading of tracks now. Question though, what softwared did you use to record the video of your screen with your audio?
so.. basically when you buy the tracks you want for like £0.79 each or so, once you've downloaded them it costs EVEN MORE money to put them in your sony mp3 player??
Its probably because you are trying to download the songs using the web browser. You need to download the Napster client software which looks just like the napster website you use to search for music but instead allows you to download your music also.
I have all your issue solved. Are you guys ready? If you like the music, then pay for it like the rest of us HONEST people. Thats the problem with people, want something for nothing. Stop acting like little broke ass teenagers, and pay legally. Maybe you just need a career, not a shit job. Just my opinion.
@Erickomen27 It sucks that we pay for music and can't even transfer it to other devices! I learned the hard way when my ipod nano broke. From now on I will never buy music from iTunes. I will only buy mp3 songs because they can be played on anything. I downloaded the Zune software and amazingly it was able to import all of the songs I had in my iTunes library & I can even burn it to MP3 CD! Have you tried using the Zune software to burn the music you want to an mp3 cd?
@xCAPTA1NMORGANx Im not a fag. you just a cheap s.o.b. who thinks I bought a ipod thats why I cant afford music legally. Get a real job, if you cant afford luxury, dont buy it, but especially dont expect people to give a rats ass over your cheap habits or lack of. I don't personally give a shit about your finance issues. I work and I pay for shit I find worthy of having. I feel sorry for your girlfriend or wife, if you have one. You so damn cheap, I hope the ipod turns her on. broke M.F.
I'm actually having problems with this too. I've been using Tunebite for months with my Rhapsody files but suddenly today my files keep timing out. Any ideas how to fix this?
it won't work. primarily because you have obtained the file illegally. the software will only work with legally downloaded music from services like rhapsody and napster.
I do not pay for napster to go. this works by downloading the tracks you get as part of your FULL subscription that is $12 a month. Just simply convert those tracks to mp3 or any other format and you can do anything you like with the file. Just be sure to choose "download" for the tracks you want.
For whatever reason, every time I do this, I get a message saying: "Windows Media playback error". These are Napster songs, and they transcode, but I can only transcode one single song at a time...
Nice explanation. My problems is that my Napster trial expired and when I try to play my wma file, a Napster "Media Usage Rights Acquisition" window pops up and stops the file from playing. I tried to use tunebite and one other DMA removal program and they can't get past this Napster window that keeps the wma file from being read. What do I do to covert my wma's to mp3's?
Yeah, but see, there's no reason to use it on Bearshare. That is an illegal P2P file sharing network, so you get free music from that is the first place. But if it really has DRM, it still will, I'm sure.
Hi, sorry to be clueless but I have a question about free Napster trials. I am currently downloading files and transferring them to my external hard drive. Can anyone tell me if once I CANCEL my subscription I will still be able to listen to them through my computer?
tunebite works fine.its worth the money (like napster).... much more better then 99 cent on i tunes, what sounds like a clap in the face to me. napster downloads fast . it has 192kbit. you can load as much your harddrive can carry. start tunebite and change to mp3. thats it. done.and BOTH software is legal.
everybody that's whining just buy the damn tunebite software it will pay off after while especially if you use napster like i do...$15 dollars a month for unlimited music and you get rid of all the slow downloads from limewire etc...come on quit being cheap peeps i know the economy is down but damn!! lol
Me and my bro share a napster to go account, however i want to now use my PSP as my mp3 player. Is alright if i remove the DRM from the napster to go songs but still keep paying for the service?
When you use Tunebite...all it's really doing is copying the song to a separate music file...for example if you have a song in your napster to go folder and you use Tunebite or any other program the software is going to make a seperate exact file but without the DRM protection...so now you have the napster DRM song file in your napster folder and the unprotected music file that you created...so all it's really doing it making a copy...hope that clears it up let me know if you have any problems.
tunebite's worth buying imo. i bought the premium versh or whatev to rip video. i don't steal rented dvds but it could potentially pay for itself after a few uses. i buy dvds on itunes though and i use tunebite to rip and play them on my 360 wirelessly.
Excellent video...I have a lot of wma files ripped from cds on windows me and when I changed these songs to XP SP2, these don't play and can't be converted. I tried various software: tune bite, tune cab, daniusoft, switch, note burner, fairuse, soundtaxi, dbpower amp etc. When I load the music it says DRM protected. Could you be able to help me? If you can, I can send you some tracks so that you can try.
And if you download limewire now, they changed the version - so then you have to pay. Some people were lucky enough to get the older versions that were free to download music.
It will only convert at 5 times if you have 5 files you want to convert, as it uses virtual sound cards to play the songs all at the same time and record them off their own virtual sound cards. Either that or they have to already unprotected, but that would be pointless.
ok, i downloaded napster and some music, i downloaded tunebite and it says i cant convert more than one min. of music. WTF!?! it does not look like urs. plz help me!
I want to buy the full version, but I would like to know how the sound quality is first? Is there a noticable difference in the quality when it is converted?
there is no difference i can tell. tunebite copies the song digitally so there is no lost in quality. Since WMA is a smaller compressed file going to slightly larger mp3 files allows no loss of quality.
will tunebite cremove DRM from a digital copy of AVP-R? a buddy of mine wants to put my copy of AVP-R on his portable device, but i recently upgraded CPU's and now i guess it thinks i have a new PC, and the DRM files are corrupt, or something. i had to renamemy DRM folders and reboot just to get my Media Center to work with my tv tuner, and some other stuff wouldnt work either, till i renamed the folders and rebooted. this DRM stuff is worthless for consumers IMO, nothing but a headache.
Hey i was wondering if you could talk about the sound quality of the converted tracks, usually when i record from pc-pc the bass hz are lost and it sounds terrible on large stereo systems(especially when other songs are not recorded from soundcard).
Great info. Question for you: I download from Napster on my desktop and laptop. Once I purchase a full version of Tunebite, can I install on both for one price??? Thanks for the helpful information!! :o)
unfortunately, the demo version of tunebite only copies 1 min. of the files now. they changed it up on us. you will have to buy it now for the full version.
ya, i had this on my pc, and then it fried, so i took it to geek squad. they said people have gone to jail for having this. it removes copyright laws. thats all it does. i know on the site it says its legal, but what would you expect it to say?
there is nothing illegal about tunebite. It is a very good sound card recorder. Because the copy protection isn't being stripped from the file and that the song is being recorded as it passes through your sound card it is perfectly legal. This software is marketed through napster and rhapsody and I'm sure if it were illegal they wouldn't allow it to be advertised or marketed on there services. AS for the geek squad guy, let him just fix computers and stay out of the legal arena.
will this work with the newest version of windows media player its like 11.600.700 or something ive tried some other drm rippers and they cant crack that version.. which is the one i have and no i cant roll back the version
They must have changed how their trial version of the software works. But for $25 it pays for itself in about 20 songs which is about the first time you use it.

What do I do to covert my wma's to mp3's?

does this work with bearshare?
Formula170 3 years ago
Yeah, but see, there's no reason to use it on Bearshare. That is an illegal P2P file sharing network, so you get free music from that is the first place. But if it really has DRM, it still will, I'm sure.

tunebite works fine.its worth the money (like napster).... much more better then 99 cent on i tunes, what sounds like a clap in the face to me. napster downloads fast . it has 192kbit. you can load as much your harddrive can carry. start tunebite and change to mp3. thats it. done.and BOTH software is legal.
Bonzenpunk 3 years ago
how fast does it convert like % mine only goes 1X = 1%

DRM can be removed without do any coversion. When you convert the content, it degrades it.

everybody that's whining just buy the damn tunebite software it will pay off after while especially if you use napster like i do...$15 dollars a month for unlimited music and you get rid of all the slow downloads from limewire etc...come on quit being cheap peeps i know the economy is down but damn!! lol
STIX2K7 3 years ago
Me and my bro share a napster to go account, however i want to now use my PSP as my mp3 player. Is alright if i remove the DRM from the napster to go songs but still keep paying for the service?
zwandaba 3 years ago
When you use Tunebite...all it's really doing is copying the song to a separate music file...for example if you have a song in your napster to go folder and you use Tunebite or any other program the software is going to make a seperate exact file but without the DRM protection...so now you have the napster DRM song file in your napster folder and the unprotected music file that you created...so all it's really doing it making a copy...hope that clears it up let me know if you have any problems.
STIX2K7 3 years ago
tunebite's worth buying imo. i bought the premium versh or whatev to rip video. i don't steal rented dvds but it could potentially pay for itself after a few uses. i buy dvds on itunes though and i use tunebite to rip and play them on my 360 wirelessly.
armstrongw5 3 years ago
you only get a minute converted with the free trial, so dont waste your time with tunebite. this guys an douche and says its all free.
HURLEY7130 3 years ago
Excellent video...I have a lot of wma files ripped from cds on windows me and when I changed these songs to XP SP2, these don't play and can't be converted. I tried various software: tune bite, tune cab, daniusoft, switch, note burner, fairuse, soundtaxi, dbpower amp etc. When I load the music it says DRM protected. Could you be able to help me? If you can, I can send you some tracks so that you can try.
Thanks a ton

just download limewire
curt22390409 3 years ago
it's harder on limewire to download complete albums.
poopspeedstream 3 years ago 3
And if you download limewire now, they changed the version - so then you have to pay. Some people were lucky enough to get the older versions that were free to download music.

if you just want to get free music, fuck the napster free trial, just get limewire or utorrent

Daniusoft Media Converter Pro is also a DRM converter which supports iTunes DRM (M4V, M4A) and Windows DRM (WMV, WMA)
CrayDeng 3 years ago
It will only convert at 5 times if you have 5 files you want to convert, as it uses virtual sound cards to play the songs all at the same time and record them off their own virtual sound cards. Either that or they have to already unprotected, but that would be pointless.
jellylogix 3 years ago
I need a converter which can remove DRM from both WMA and WMV.

I want to buy the full version, but I would like to know how the sound quality is first? Is there a noticable difference in the quality when it is converted?
TSanchez012 3 years ago
there is no difference i can tell. tunebite copies the song digitally so there is no lost in quality. Since WMA is a smaller compressed file going to slightly larger mp3 files allows no loss of quality.
kld2006 3 years ago
will tunebite cremove DRM from a digital copy of AVP-R? a buddy of mine wants to put my copy of AVP-R on his portable device, but i recently upgraded CPU's and now i guess it thinks i have a new PC, and the DRM files are corrupt, or something. i had to renamemy DRM folders and reboot just to get my Media Center to work with my tv tuner, and some other stuff wouldnt work either, till i renamed the folders and rebooted. this DRM stuff is worthless for consumers IMO, nothing but a headache.
LETHLSS 3 years ago
Hey i was wondering if you could talk about the sound quality of the converted tracks, usually when i record from pc-pc the bass hz are lost and it sounds terrible on large stereo systems(especially when other songs are not recorded from soundcard).
srxshadow 3 years ago
Great info. Question for you: I download from Napster on my desktop and laptop. Once I purchase a full version of Tunebite, can I install on both for one price??? Thanks for the helpful information!! :o)
swfalk1 3 years ago
When I tried tunebites, every song timed out. Why is that?
huemanxxx 3 years ago
unfortunately, the demo version of tunebite only copies 1 min. of the files now. they changed it up on us. you will have to buy it now for the full version.
kld2006 3 years ago
yeah so its not free is it - might as well get the songs from mp3 file sharing... waste of time load of shit!

ya, i had this on my pc, and then it fried, so i took it to geek squad. they said people have gone to jail for having this. it removes copyright laws. thats all it does. i know on the site it says its legal, but what would you expect it to say?
phatmandave69 3 years ago
there is nothing illegal about tunebite. AS for the geek squad guy, let him just fix computers and stay out of the legal arena.
kld2006 3 years ago
will this work with the newest version of windows media player its like 11.600.700 or something ive tried some other drm rippers and they cant crack that version.. which is the one i have and no i cant roll back the version

Theres a thing called, Limewire.
CrazyPebble 3 years ago
limewire is illegal and is full of bogus song files and viruses. nothing gets you more free QUALITY music like the method in this video.
kld2006 3 years ago
Yeah, I am pretty stupid. And I have a question. If this would work on Yahoo, Napster, etc, then could you use this to decode iTunes songs?
CrazyPebble 3 years ago
yep, works on itunes as well.
kld2006 3 years ago
theres something called being an idiot which you are
kgib13 3 years ago
Do you know where I can get a registration key for the full version of tunebite?
TitsMakeGoodPillows 4 years ago
I have never used it for that. I have used it to convert drm protected WMV videos and movies though.
kld2006 4 years ago
The trial for tunebite only lets you convert 1min worth of audio each song.. :(
LilyandLola1 4 years ago
They must have changed how their trial version of the software works. But for $25 it pays for itself in about 20 songs which is about the first time you use it.
