@AtariRaccoon I work at Ludosity, I made the Flash version while Gustav (another programmer) made the Xbox version. Me and Joel (reallyjoel) made the original Game Maker version.

@ChoclateSailor They were originally for Iji. Most of Iji's basic sprites (explosions and minor particles) were done in 2004.

The explosions, clouds, ground and smoke effects were originally made for Iji. I got started on Iji in August 2004, GGC was made much later, but I was too lazy to draw new explosions. :)

I "customised" tjhis game slightly. I replaced most of the music with other MP3's I ahve. You'll be surprised how many elves you'll kill when "Ghost Opera" is playing. Or how funny it is that when you die, the hgame sings "DOn't feel bad! It's better then bing shot in the face! :D".....Not that I didn't love the games original soundtrack. It just made ytou want to sing along to it and make up words to KILL TEH ELVES.

Yeah, the princess in this game is my kind of woman. She isnt being held hostage by some sex crazed monkey or a dinosaur turtle king, she is serving up explosive elf annihilating bundles of monarchical love-stuff. <333 PRINCESS I HEART YOOO 4EVAR... if only i knew the recipe for airstrikes....

great game, completely impossible to describe to people without getting one of those twirly around the ear gestures or cross-eyes made at me though. Not that that is anything I'm not used to.

It's legally impossible for Iji, all my games are nonprofit freeware and I'd have to rewrite them all from scratch to do that anyway.

Although, it looks like a good game you could play any time of the year. Just insert your own version of intruder to keep at arm's length, and you're all set.

Hmm i really like the game, but did you cheat in your movie at 0.00 - 0.15?. 1million points and you have killed 427 Gnomes and you have a combo on 1/5? thats impossible. Really nice game 5/5! Record on 500.000 =)

Aha, someone finally noticed. :) Yes, it was necessary to cheat a bit when recording this movie - I did it in slowmotion so the screen capturing program could keep up, hence I just skipped ahead in the game so it wouldn't take ages to capture a good-looking segment.

I've naturally been playing the game a lot during development. After the first million, you need a lot of bricks and sleighs since the gnomes don't swing fast enough to catch every elf each "trip" up and down the house. Using the wind to blow the cat to the top of the building and getting more airstrikes are top priorites by then. I keep a Cone Race as a safe card for as long as possible, too.

Anything over 1.5 million is luck though, since the game's release I never got more than 2'105'780.

I don't remember, but all the music in the game and this movie was created by Magnus "SoulEye" Pålsson. The music heard while playing was made specifically for the game, the other songs are unrelated works.

Ok, I'm playing this for about 5 weeks now and still find it very hard to control the gnome so he knocks elves on the higher parts of the building off. But at least, I got diamond bricks 2 or 3 times, yaay! So Daniel, you're right. Golden (and diamond) bricks ARE fun }:D

rekoj: I need to get back to a good computer first though, recording it is pretty demanding. I had to record this video in slow-motion, which is why it couldn't capture any sound effects. Including the sound effects is the only way to prove a video of this game even remotely legit, though I don't have a reason to cheat at my own game anyway. :p

Actually it starts at 4:07 and then explodes at 4:13, so you need to clear your house while you charge. At higher levels it's almost impossible to pull it off.

It's really usefull for getting diamond bricks, but do it early.

In the latest version of the game, protip 13 has been replaced to tell you how to get the blue bricks. Basically, with a house completely full of gold bricks, get another gold refill, either with the sparkly cat or by winning the Cone Race.
