That's the problem with modern Thrash Metal. All they listen to is Thrash Metal, and when they try to make it, all it is, is them copying older bands. They don't listen to Heavy Metal. Or Speed Metal. Or Punk. Or ANYTHING that actually went into making good Thrash Metal, so they aren't -creating- it, they're just copying it.
Takes me back to Billy Milano days, remember his button-pushing songs like "Ballad of Jimi Hendrix"? I remember friends who'd get incensed by that shit. Hahaha. I love it all, and can still appreciate humorous lyrics. Oh well, you can't exactly tell black metal fans to "lighten up".
As a fan of both types of music, I think that he's right. People need to learn to take a joke. And anyway, if you were around in the late 90's, you know there was an overabundance of crappy black metal bands, the same as with thrash in the late 80's, and death metal in the early 90's. And a lot of it deserved to be ridiculed. I mean, it's obviously not serious. That last part where they're just talking about how awesome they are is hilarious. It's a joke, folks.
@Morgarith666 in the beginning, there was black sabbath and budgie,then in the late 70s NWOBHM happened. saxon, iron maiden, anglewitch, motorhead, and judas priest just to name a few brought metal to its peak in the 80s. then metal got a little mainstream during the late 80s, thrash was born, i dont know much about thrash metal bands except anthrax, megadeth, and metallica but yknow, they were THERE and they werent too bad.and then the 90s happened...and it was the begining of the end

On the other hand I'm glad we have power metal and there are new bands whichare into trash and heavy metal. Lich King, Evile, Havok, Violator, Enforcer, Cauldron, Steelwing, White Wizard, Mantic Ritual, Municipal Waste, Suicidal Angels, Pitiful Reign, Bullet, Wolf, Volture and so on and so forth.

Which is honestly my biggest problem with the neothrash scene as a whole. Its a "scene" no different in principle from the emos and "scene kids" who metalheads supposedly love to hate. Every show I've been to where a thrash band was playing the neothrashers have been total disrespectful assholes to every non-thrashy band that played, then left after the thrash band finished their set.

@HannahLover138 Hardly. I personally despise the Thrash Revival movement. I love old school thrash as much as the next guy, hell I was raised on it. But its something that should have stayed preserved in the past. None of these new bands are doing anything original or unique, and they are bringing a "scene" conformist mentality to the metal scene that we have supposedly scorned in the past. I can't wait for this trend to be over.

Black metal is pretty awesome. of course some bands would suck, goes for every gender and every new age alternative, metalcore, and screamo bands, those bands completly suck. but I'm more of an older style thrash, death, and heavy metal kind of guy. this band is pretty awesome too, have a couple of their albums.

As a fan of both types of music, I think that he's right. People need to learn to take a joke. And anyway, if you were around in the late 90's, you know there was an overabundance of crappy black metal bands, the same as with thrash in the late 80's, and death metal in the early 90's. And a lot of it deserved to be ridiculed. I mean, it's obviously not serious. That last part where they're just talking about how awesome they are is hilarious. It's a joke, folks.

@Morgarith666 in the beginning, there was black sabbath and budgie,then in the late 70s NWOBHM happened. saxon, iron maiden, anglewitch, motorhead, and judas priest just to name a few brought metal to its peak in the 80s. then metal got a little mainstream during the late 80s, thrash was born, i dont know much about thrash metal bands except anthrax, megadeth, and metallica but yknow, they were THERE and they werent too bad.and then the 90s happened...and it was the begining of the end

On the other hand I'm glad we have power metal and there are new bands whichare into trash and heavy metal. Lich King, Evile, Havok, Violator, Enforcer, Cauldron, Steelwing, White Wizard, Mantic Ritual, Municipal Waste, Suicidal Angels, Pitiful Reign, Bullet, Wolf, Volture and so on and so forth.
If we aren't into extreme metal or into gaycore music, we have some good choices.

Which is honestly my biggest problem with the neothrash scene as a whole. Its a "scene" no different in principle from the emos and "scene kids" who metalheads supposedly love to hate. Every show I've been to where a thrash band was playing the neothrashers have been total disrespectful assholes to every non-thrashy band that played, then left after the thrash band finished their set.

@HannahLover138 Hardly. I personally despise the Thrash Revival movement. I love old school thrash as much as the next guy, hell I was raised on it. But its something that should have stayed preserved in the past. None of these new bands are doing anything original or unique, and they are bringing a "scene" conformist mentality to the metal scene that we have supposedly scorned in the past. I can't wait for this trend to be over.
